Chapter 16

With every minute that passes, the parent octopus is getting more and more impatient as its kin are in pain while he can't do anything.

Meanwhile, the human who said he would help them was quietly sitting with his eyes closed. 

'This human is toying with me!' The parent octopus thought that an hour and a half had passed, but Asahi still had no response.

 'I can't reach him'

The parent octopus had tried countless times to link his mind with Asahi but was unable to do so which is strange as he hadn't met such a problem earlier.

'If he still doesn't wake, I'll feed him to the sharks!'

Parent octopus is angry as it wraps its tentacle around Asahi's body and shakes him in the air hysterically. 

"Can you please not do that, I get dizzy easily" 

Asahi's voice sounded as he spoke with a calm voice, with a relaxed face.

"I know you're angry, I'm sorry, but put me down first, I've found a way to heal your children." Asahi bowed his head and sincerely apologized.

He wasn't an asshole to not realize how shitty his action might seem to the parent octopus who was in pain seeing its children suffering while he just sat there and 'slept'.

"Make...sure..or....die..." The parent octopus threatened as it slowly lowered Asahi to the ground.

"Don't worry I will save them! That is my promise" Asahi reassured the big octopus with a 'victory' pose.

His confidence stems from a day of nonstop training in healing the little octopuses.

It wasn't challenging after Asahi memorized the animal's body structure and the blocked chakra nodes in their body.

'I could do this even with my eyes closed' Asahi mused with a smirk on his face as he immediately started the operation.

Fortunately, he didn't let his confidence clog his brain as he earnestly expel the poison in each of the little octopuses' bodies.

As a concerned parent, the big octopus watched the entire process as Asahi cleaned the poison in its babies one by one.

'Phew...thank god everything went well!' Wiping the sweat forming on his forehead, Asahi breathed a sigh of relief knowing that his life was safe for now.

"Everything went well, they just need to rest and they will be fine." 

Asahi first gently placed the little octopuses back on the sea lake where they could sleep soundly and have a proper rest as he turned and confronted the big one.

 "Your children are safe now, I assure you." His voice was gentle as he stared at the octopus' massive eyes.

Funny enough, ever since he had signed a summoning contract with the octopus family, Asahi wasn't as scared of the big octopus as before as he thought;

'He looks...cute'

Asahi laughed at his own thought, after all, who would call a humongous mind-talking octopus as cute?

Shaking his head, Asahi knows that this is not the time to joke around as his face turns serious.

"I've done my end of the deal, now it's your turn."

The distance between the Land of Woods and the Land of Whirlpools is relatively close as the group of Udon, Osamu, and Reiki arrived at the edge of the island in just a day of sailing.

"Are we gonna climb that sensei?" Reiki asked staring at the towering cliff in front of them.

 Instead of a shore, the group faced a tall cliff that reached more than six meters in height. 

Fortunately, the two kids are adept at chakra control and know how to infuse chakra into their feet.

"Wait here" Instead of answering, Udon jumped from the boat and weaved a ninjutsu in his hand.

"Earth Style: Digging tunnel!" 

Using his jutsu, Udon dug into the cliff creating a small artificial cave where they docked.

"What is our next plan leader?" Osamu curiously asked while still maintaining a disciplined tone.

"Ah! I can't wait to fight!" Reiki exclaimed as he punched the air in excitement.

Unfortunately, Udon shattered his dream as he said with a stern face;

"No fighting! You two will be guarding this place until I come back."

"Make sure not to get discovered."

"Osamu, you're in charge, make sure Reiki won't cause trouble"

"Yes, leader!" 

Knowing Reiki's reckless behavior, Udon was worried as he specifically told Osamu to keep an eye on him.

"I'm not a child!" Reiki angrily said stomping his feet on the ground.

"REMEMBER! STAY HERE UNTIL I RETURN, UNDERSTAND?!" Udon said with a stern face as his voice echoed inside the cave.

"Yes, Leader!"

''Yes sir!"

The children saluted, even though they were childish most of the time, Reiki and Osamu knew when to be obedient. 

Much to Udon's relief.

"Earth Style: Rock Wall!"

Udon created a wall made of rock to cover the entrance where they entered, hiding the cave the size of an average room.

After making sure that their hideout was safe and discrete, Udon finally left using ninjutsu by digging the ground.

Udon is an expert in earth jutsu making such tasks easy for him.

Some might even compare him to a mole as he moves around beneath the surface with speed.

With this technique, Udon can safely travel on land without anyone noticing unless he meets a sensory ninja.

'Yosh, playtime's over'

Holding a piece of paper that laid out the map of the Land of Whirlpools island in a detailed manner, Udon made his way to the village.

(A/N: No update for this week, I'm sorry guys but the final examination is coming and I need to focus on my studies. P.S. I'm currently in Grade 11 Senior High school in the Philippines)
