When I awoken I was in a forest with animals surrounding me. When I started to move all of the animals scattered as fast as they could into the trees.
"Where the hell am I?" I asked myself.
"You're in the Appa Forest." A voice from behind responded.
I jumped to my feet and turned around to look at the source of the voice. It looked like a tree stump with branches for hands and roots for legs, it's hair and beard was made from tree leaves. "Who are you?" I asked the creature.
"Do not be afraid, I am one from the forest. I am the Appa Forest Priest." The mysterious creature said.
"A priest for the forest? Why would there be a priest our here?"
"The whole forest is a village. Some live on branches, in trees, in the dirt, some even live in the water." The priest stated.
"How could there be a civilization out here?"
"It's because we live through specific laws of the forest."
Laws of the forest, I thought to myself. "Why am I here?" I asked.
"We are not sure. You appeared here a few hours ago and we've treated the injuries you had and have let you sleep." The priest responded.
"What kind of injuries?"
"One of you arms were sliced all over, your hands you busted open, one of your legs were cut up, and you had a few holes in your body."
"So then..." I stopped talking and fell to the floor. "I'm dead." I stuttered.
"You can't be dead, you're right here." The priest said.
"Do you have anything that I can use? Did I appear here with anything?" I asked.
"Yes. You had a type of sword with you."
"Where is it?" I asked.
"Over there." The priest responded while pointing towards a bag.
"Alright then. I'm going to be leaving this forest. I have a mission to do and must complete it as soon as I can."
"If you are leaving then I suggest you do that way." The priest was pointing towards a pathway. In the distance you could see a body of water. "This land is surrounded by water. We are ruled by the god of water.
"That's my first then." I muttered. "Thank you for the advise. Are there uninhabited islands around here?" I asked.
"I do not know. I've only been on this island."
"Alright then. Thank you."
"There is no need for being grateful. I'm just doing my duty as priest."
I followed the path that the priest pointed me towards. I arrived to the beach and could see many islands around. All of the islands were really small though. I walked towards the water to test how cold it was. "Holy crap that's hot." I said while in pain.
"It looks like it would be cold. But for some reason it's as hot as a volcano." I said to myself. I looked around the beach to see what would be around. In the distance I could see something that resembled a temple. I started walking towards it and as i got closer I could notice traps all around the temple walls. "Interesting." I muttered to myself.
As I approached the temple I noticed there being signs all around. "What is this?" I asked while wiping the dirt off the sign. "Leave here? Why did you come here?" I questioned the signs the kept walking through the temple doors.
As I entered the temple I noticed there was an elevator on the right of the door. "There is nothing else I could do. So I should just continue down here. Right?" I questioned my decision. I kept thinking I don't know what's down here. I could possibly die down here so I must have my guard up the whole time. I walked into the elevator with confidence making sure I do not seem like I'm afraid of anything that I could encounter. As the elevator descended the room became darker. The deeper I got, the more noises I could hear.
Eventually the elevator stopped and the door opened. I pulled my katana out and slowly started leaving the elevator. As I walked down a dark corridor I observed the drawings on the wall. "What are those?" I asked while observing a drawing of a green humanoid. "Is that a goblin?" I kept walking through the corridor and eventually a door appeared out of the darkness. "A door?" I asked. As I was preparing my sword I started to motivate myself. "No matter what you are stronger then anything that's down here." Ten minutes passed and I was finally ready to enter the door. "Alright then. Let's do this." I opened the door and slowly entered.
I was about 20 steps in the room before all the lights started to flicker. "What the hell?"
As I continued walking through the room it started to become brighter. I could start to see even more drawings on the wall. One of the drawings had a giant lizard on it with humans with what looked like spears fighting it. As I continued all the drawings started to connect. One of the drawings had the lizard killed with the humans celebrating their victory. As I entered the next hallway I could see a drawing of the gods raining terror on the humans for killing the lizard.
"So it seems that the lizard started to destroy and terrorize the humans. But once the humans killed the lizard the gods started to rain terror amongst the humans."
I could feel a grin forming on my face. It wasn't a grin of happiness, but a grin of anger. These gods don't just try to destroy my life, but destroy the life of all of the people here.
As I entered the next room I could see four different doors with signs above them. The signs read Treasure Room, Trap Room, Armory Room, Exit. As I approached the doors another signed formed from thin air. Each room has a challenge, but each challenge has a great reward.
"This is my chance to prove myself. In most video games the treasure room has a boss, the trap room is usually a room full of traps but with a big reward, the armory rooms are usually traps, and the exit is either one of two things. The actual exit or a room that kills me."
I approached the armory door. I looked in and could see another sign. But I can't see what this one says. "Here goes nothing." I said as I started to walk in the room.
As I entered the armory room I could see a white door on the other side of a lava pit. I approached the sign that i saw from the doorway. Cross the lava pit to earn your reward. "Cross the lava pit?"
I observed my surroundings and could see rocks surrounding the lava pit. I could jump and grabbed the rocks and climb around the pit.
"Challenge one here I come!"
