Entice Me

"Where have you been, Gabe. You know I was looking everywhere for you." He yelled at me after telling me to sit in the living room. He hesitated at first but eventually invited the three others inside, too. Although I could tell they didn't really care if they had permission to go in. If I was entering inside, they will come too no matter what.

"Sure you were." I said, not believing my dad. I'm sure it was just an excuse to get my sympathy.

"Yes. Ask the twins." He turned to my stepbrothers who were beside him on the couch opposite from us.

"We did, Gabe. We looked for you last night, we even asked for some students at your school. But they said you were taken by someone. Dad even reported it to the police." They said, alternating with each sentence. Nile, older by half a minute, even went beside me. They were fifteen now and I was starting to be scared that they will hit that stage where they would rebel.

"Why did you report to the police?" I turned to my Dad.

"Of course I would, you were kidnapped." He defended, looking at Harry who I know was directly behind me.

"I'm not a kidnapper." He said bluntly.

"You didn't care like this before." I whispered. I didn't want the twins to despise their stepfather because they cared about me.

"Gabe. You know what, it's fine. At least you're home now." He uttered. I was surprised he didn't lash out at me this time. Probably because of he visitors that he felt embarrassed to throw a fit.

"Yeah. But not for long." I stood. Nile kept clinging at my shirt.

"Where are you going, Gabe?" Neil asked. My father had his mouth open so I guessed he was about to say the same thing, too.

"I'm just staying over a friends house, okay?" I went to Neil with Nile beside me and ruffled their hair.

"Twins, go to your room. Go up, now." My dad told them. I felt him get more serious and him telling the twins to go to their room means he has something he wanted to say that he didn't want them to hear.

While I waited for the twins to go, I went to my room and started packing my things. I felt Harry follow me but stayed in the doorway, watching me take the clothes of my closet and into the bag hastily.

"Gabe, don't do this." I heard my father behind me entering my room.

"Listen, Dad. I'm doing you a favor, okay? You didn't want me here and now I'm letting you cut me off so you don't have to keep whatever promise you made with mom." Harry let out a small growl at the mention of their previous Alpha. I could also feel tension building up in me and I couldn't wait to release it at something.

"And where will you go? With these people?" Something about that triggered me and I stopped packing and turned to him.

"What's wrong with these people? At least they want me with them." I spoke with so much venom that I didn't care if my father would punch me right there.

"No. No. I can't let you go. Not with these animals." He hissed. I tensed at first that he could tell they were wolves.

"Drop it, Serge. I've had enough, I don't want to hear more." exasperated Harry. He had a tired look on his eyes as if he was only listening to my Dad lie for his own amusement.

"I'm not talking to you, wolf." My father warned. A fight could break out now and I wouldn't care, but Dad turned his attention back to me. "Gabe. Please listen to me, you can't go with them."

"Why not, Dad? Last time I checked, you didn't even had a single care on wherever the hell I was, so what's with this attitude?" I snarled. I was becoming more tired with arguing with him because I know this was pointless. He's gonna continue to convince me to stay but I have my decisions set.

"I promised your mom, okay? That's the promise I made with her, to protect you from them." I widen my eyes at the apparent lie. The audacity of him to speak at me as if I don't see through him.

"Really, Dad? That's what you were doing? Protecting me? I think you've mistaken protecting with neglection, so please don't even try anymore." I zipped the bag that had my clothes. It wasn't everything but I just wanted to get out of this place.

"I'm being serious, Gabe." He grabbed my arm as I was walking out of the room.

"And I'm serious, too Dad. I can't leave my pack alone." I chided with anger that I let it slip my mind.

"What?" He was more than confused.

"Yes, Serge. He's a wolf now and..." Harry trailed off his words as he looked at me. I know what he's trying to say.

"And I'm the Alpha, so get out of my way, Dad." I shot one last time before he let go of me and let me walk through the door.

He followed us outside the lawn. The three other wolves were already seated back.

"This is not what your mom wants. She will be so disappointed." He yelled when I was getting into the car. I fumed at his words and I tried so hard not to turn to a wolf right then and there even though I still haven't mastered it but he was begging to be let out of me.

"You told me she wanted you to protect me, right?" I turned to him, wiping the anger of my face and replacing it with a cold expression. He nodded in response and I entered the car. "Well, I guess she'd be disappointed with the both of us." I say finally and Harry took that as a sign to drive away.

I feel guilty that I wanted to get out there so fast that I didn't even said goodbye to my stepbrothers. I shook them off my mind so I could focus on what's more important. That would've happened if Harry didn't stop the car instantly making my head collide with the glove compartment.

"What the hell, Harry?" I turned to look at him but he was already out of the car and telling me to stay inside. The rest also went out and this time I saw what they were looking at.

"What is that?" I nearly fainted at the sight. It was freaking me out and I don't know why I a haven't tore my eyes away yet because I kept looking at it and inspecting it.

"It's the other pack." Ivan said, smelling the blood on the pavement. We were off the main highway now in a kind of closed off road that we took to get to the pack house. We were still pretty far but why does this sound so dangerous and not good for us.

"Other pack, wha-?"

"I thought no one hunted anymore?" Harry interrupted my question with his own.

"Well, I can really smell them in the blood." Ivan affirmed, still mushing the blood in between his fingers like it was oil.

"Wait. Why is there a gutless deer right in front of me?" I freaked out. I feel like I'm about to vomit but I hold it in. Although, I might as well fill up the gaping hole in the middle of the dead deer in front of us with his organs missing and the right side of his ribs crushed.

"Better leave it alone. We don't want trouble here." Harry said and stood up, walking back to the car, taking me with him. I let myself get dragged by him to my seat because I could've never done it on my own. When I realized that we were moving again, I finally had my thoughts sorted.

"Okay, can somebody tell me what is going on, you've been ignoring me the whole time." I growled. My Alpha might have peaked through since I feel them cower around me.

"It's the other pack in this area." Lance started explaining.

"This area? There are other packs?" I looked at them in disbelief, also slightly angry at how I'm knowing this now.

"Yes, Alpha. We're not the only ones here."

"Then isn't that dangerous for you? Haven't they tried taking you with them since you didn't have an Alpha?"

"They tried but we rejected them." Harry bluntly said, keeping his eyes on the road as I can see the pack house in the distance.

"And they were okay with it?"

"Their Alpha's very stubborn and when we said we didn't want to be a part of them, he got mad." Lance continued.

"And?" I could tell there was something more.

"He said he would return if we found a new Alpha."
