Chapter 50: Show Me Your Guts

"Then I dare you… to pluck out your own heart and show it to me." The Hell's creature's smile seems almost ecstatic as it says this.

Julie doesn't hesitate as her fingers sink into her chest and pull out her beating heart. "Here it is…"

But as she does so, her legs wobble and she falls to the ground. A bright light emanates from her and she shoots out towards the Magic Academy's direction. All life leaves her body.

'Damn, that is hardcore of her.' Thinks Alex as he casually steps over Julie's dead body. 

"Truth or Da-"

"Dare." He answers instantly. 'The game is called two truths and a dare. If you choose dare last then the dare will be at its highest critical point. But choosing it first is guaranteed to not be life-threatening. Knowledge is power when dealing with creatures like this.'

"Hehe~" The little girl's face morphs again. "I dare you to rip out your eye without using anything to dull your pain." 

'Fuck!' Alex swears internally. 'She noticed Julie using pain-dulling magic and couldn't stop her, so she decided to do so with me.'

He doesn't like pain at all, that is a given and to say the truth he isn't too accustomed to this kind of pain. Because while someone like the Headmistress can do something like that seemingly very casually. Alex used to be just a normal person and not some hundred years old monster.

But he just points his finger at his left eyeball.

<Blood Curse: Eye Spurt>

*burst*

His eyeball bursts out of his eye socket and lands on the ground. 

"AAAAGGGHHHHHHHHH!!" He screams so loud that his vocal cords are damaged and he spews out blood. 

The little girl's face returns to normal and she smiles gently while looking at him. "Truth or Dare?"

As the pain subsides and Alex hears the girl ask again, he immediately uses magic to dull his pain. After that, he casually gets up and a green magic circle appears on his throat.

<Minor Heal>

Immediately his vocal cords are healed and back to normal. He smirks at the hell's creature and asks back. "Truth or Dare?"

"Huh?!" The little girl is surprised at this.

"C'mon now, this is a game, just because you made it doesn't exclude you from playing it." Alex smiles and pats the girl on the head and smiles at her gently as his eye socket where blood oozes out of it makes him look demonic. "Truth or Dare my little genie?"

"Dare." Says the little girl, her face no longer the smiley one but a serious one instead.

"I dare you to destroy yourself," Alex says casually.

"W -What?!! W -Wait a minute!!" For the first time, the Hell's Creature felt panicked. "Listen, I know everything there is to know about the Mage of Dreams Treasures and many of his secrets if you let-"

"No need." Says Alex, yawning in the process. "Now follow along with your game…"

"N -No way can my own game destroy me you fool, ao you bet-" She is stopped mid-sentence as her hands move by themselves and it slowly starts choking her. "F -Fuck, you bastard!! I will kill you!!"

But Alex seems uninterested in this as he bandages his left eye hole and applies some minor healing magic to stop the bleeding. He does that as he doesn't want the wound to completely heal and he also plans to replace the eye as soon as possible.

Lily looks at this from the sidelines, her body is frozen in fear. Unlike the others, she felt like the little girl that she was. Alex looks towards her with his bandage covered in blood.

She couldn't help herself as she felt a chill down her spine, his remaining eye showed a tinge of coldness that made her feel like staring into the abyss. 

As the creature kills itself, it turns into dust and drops down a hand-sized dark ball that has hundreds of small lights in it. Each of them represents a soul that she had gotten.

Alex picks it up and throws it in the air and smirks as it lands on his hands and strange writing seemingly made of blood appear around it.

<Blood Magic: Trace Erasure>

Slowly the sphere turns to dust and a couple of notifications appear in his interface.

[You have killed a Genie (Hell's Creature)]

[+100,000 Exp]

[You have got new Perk: Trickster Like The Devil]

{Trickster Like The Devil} gives the user +5 Wisdom Stat.

[WARNING!!: a strange presence is gazing into your soul and has seen traces of the system in it!]

[Goddess Ariel has taken an interest in you and is offering you her blessing. Do you accept? Y/N]

Immediately, without the need to even think about it Alex refuses the blessing of the Goddess. 'If I accepted it that would give a substantial boost in power and would make anyone in the same level as me unable to defeat me and even the Holy Pope would protect me, and the guy is genuine, unlike Julie. 

But accepting it would give her access to my soul… which would make me vulnerable to her and she can probably take my interface away. The Gods are no joke in this world. Especially Ariel, the interface isn't something all-mighty just for me, if a God got their hands on it then they can probably mass produce it.'

Alex is a little nervous and chills run down his spine just the thought of Ariel getting so many loyal followers with gamer interfaces and the ability to grow so fast. 

'Thankfully I am on the mortal plane so she can't force her way into my soul and can only look from far away… still, to be able to see my interface… that was a little surprising. But it doesn't matter, she probably notices its presence on my soul, just like I have, so there is no need to panic needlessly. 

I just need to grow strong enough so it won't matter what she wants. But to do that I need to grow past the Ice God Powers that I had in my past life, and I must be careful.'

His mind works at top speed to figure out the fastest way of solutions to this situation and how to possibly hide from a Goddess like Ariel who is essentially Omniscient and can see almost everything in the mortal plane.

'Tch, the situation became way more troublesome than expected.' Alex bites his nails as he thinks of a solution to this, and he must make double sure to stay away from the Holy Kingdom people. 'But it doesn't matter, I must calm down and figure out a way to escape the 24/7 surveillance of Ariel.'

But still, Alex doesn't see this problem as too big since he has seen other players be stalked like this and there are a couple of ways to dodge this. Well, first, Gods won't get bored even if you just stand there looking at a flower, since they can look at multiple people at once so it doesn't matter. 

Many players had accepted the Gods blessings on them, but since it was a game back then nothing too drastic happened, but Alex doesn't doubt for even a second that the Gods won't take away his interface as soon as they can since this is reality and no game, no matter how realistic can match it.

'Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!!' Alex is enraged at this and terrified. 'What the fuck, where did these Gods even come gro from?! This is an event that is unlikely to get the attention of one, but over a hundred of them have their eyes on me. And the God of Games can probably feel his domain on my interface and is trying to interfere.'

[CORRUPTION!! THE INTERFACE IS BEING CORRUPTED BY HUNDREDS OUTSIDE INTERFACES TRYING TO ENTER THE USER'S BODY!!]

Alex's body sweats heavily as a dark aura bursts out of him and he screams but no voice comes out of his throat. The Gods decided to make a plaything of him and sent their wills to try and take over, so they all came to a silent agreement to whoever can make him a believer and take over will get to keep him…

This is the game of Gods now, and Alex was just another human. Just like that, the dice clack on a table, no longer they care for the life of someone as insignificant as him in their eyes.

But they suddenly feel a dark figure appear around the Mortal Worl's space and for a split second everyone stopped feeling the presence of their Gods and Alex was able to think clearly. 

[The God of Dreams has stopped the Mortal World's Connection with their Gods]

As this notification appears in front of Alex he immediately takes the chance to pick up Lily who has also passed out due to some Gods sending some shocks towards her to see what Alex's companion was like.

After picking her up, he gathers Mana towards his palm. As he plans to teleport to the Magic Academy… but he suddenly comes to a realization and instead chooses another location.

<Max Teleportation>

He used 90% of his Mana to teleport him to a location as far away from here as possible.
