Marley pt 2

Y/n pov:

The commander had requested me, Annie, Reiner, bertholt and Marcel to his office. I had an idea of what he wanted. A few days ago I overheard them talking about a mission to the island where the other eldians are.

"You five have been chosen to travel to paradis island and retrieve the founding titan."

I've heard about that. Isn't the attack titan the one who can control titans, I think.

"You will leave tomorrow morning at 0800 hours. Be ready or be left behind."

"Yessir" we all replied.

~time skip to the next day~

"Bye mom, bye Porco" I shouted through the house.

"Bye y/n. Bye Marcel. Have fun and don't die. Please come back safe." I heard my mom shout.

"Don't worry mom we'll be fine"  I couldn't help but feel nervous as Marcel said that.

Would everyone really come back alive?

Me and Marcel were the last ones to arrive at the gate. As my eyes gazed over the city, Marleyans gave us galres. I've always hated being looked down my the marleyans. And the huge gate that separates us makes it worse.

"Hey Annie!" I shouted across to her.

She waved back at me. "Hey y/n."

A marleyan guard had come to guide us to the main exit beyond the sea.

There was a huge boat. I couldn't work out the material but I could tell that some parts were wooden. It had the marleyan symbol on the side.

"Hurry up or I'll set off without you all" The boat driver's words caught me of guard.

"Sorry boat person sir" I apologized back.

A few hours later Bertholt began feeling sea sick.  "Really Bert, again." I could hear Reiner and Bertholt arguing behind me but I ignored them and retuned to talk to Annie.

I could tell she was worried.

"Hey, what's wrong Annie. You can tell me and I promise to keep it secret." As I said that my pinkie finger stretched out to her.

"I doubt we will all make it back alive. At least one of us will end up-"

"Don't think like that." I interrupted her.

She put out her pinkie and we joined them.

Marcel came over to me and Annie and sat watching the ocean but also listening to us.

Even though I was the youngest, I felt it was my job to keep everyone happy.

"Hey Annie, I have this game. It's called patty cake wanna play?"

She hesitated for a moment, "sure how do you play it?"

"We clap then you bring your right hand to my right hand and vise versa."

We did this for about a minute, it eventually got boring so we just went to sleep. As I was about to fall asleep I could hear Marcel say, "I'll keep you safe y/n. Even if I have to die for you."

It was almost as if he knew he wasn't making it back alive. I couldn't cry, not Infront of them or they may think I'm a weakling.

I quietly said "thank you, big brother" just loud enough for him to hear it.

I didn't realize I had fallen asleep until I heard Annie shouting at me to get up.

"Come on y/n, six hours of sleep is more than enough. Just because we aren't In Marley doesn't mean we can lazy around."

"Alright, alright  Annie I'm up."

We had arrived at the island. Just behind those stone walls and sand is titan territory.

I haven't seen any other titan besides the ones at Marley, and even they scared me sometimes.

"If we set off now then we should reach the wall by tomorrow afternoon." Marcel is acting like such a mom right now it's kinda funny.

We all set off waking. Reiner and Bertholt ahead of us talking about who knows what. Then there's me, Marcel and Annie behind them talking about what foods and stuff we want to try once we get to the walls.

'This is fun' I thought to myself. I've never been so relaxed.
