(ROOM 666)

Fei decided to take the elevator since his room was located at the sixth and top floor of the dorm, but was chased out by the other students for dirtying the marble floor within it. With no other choice, he took the stairs from the side. He lifted his head and stare up, the stairway stretches infinitely up the horizon. This is going to be one hard day.

"D-damn" Fei gasped, leaning on the wall. The mud and sweat blended together into a sticky, gooey substance, coating his body even more. making him even miserable than before. He is like a pig that escaped from a countryside pigsty, maybe he really didn't belong here. He thought he could change and start all over again, but he is too naïve, his life is just an epic prank. "Tw-two more floors to go." He managed to grab himself together and continued his journey, completing every single step with two heavy baggage in his hand. By the time he arrived at the sixth floor, he is completely breathless, but the scene in front of him is worth a while. A cold gust of wind cools him down as he leaned alongside the railing lining down the corridor, taking deep breaths to stop his heart from going nuts.

"R-room, 666…" He approached his room door like a walking dead, literally dragging his items on the floor, he didn't care anymore. "T-the cards…" When he reached at the room with the sign number 666 written on it, he halted, by the wild crazy scene in front of his eyes. "Wha-what happened here?" He was about to reach his hand out to place his license on the scanner, but froze in track immediately. "What are all of these?" He stare at the amulet sheets pasted all over the door, a little tropophobia triggering to be honest. "What is this, then?" There are also a few Taoist magic figure dangling on top of it, pinned by nails and stuffed with, hair? He ripped all those nonsense away and tossed it into a bin beside, but behind those layers of superstition and blind faith was a gigantic charm, written by a dark red liquid. The charm was circular in fashion, with various marks and symbols beside it. Fei recognized it as Taoist's symbol of a sealing spell. In the middle is a gigantic eye, it's pupil staring right at him. Fei stared back, raising an eyebrow. Out of curiosity, he reached his hand out to touch it, trying to get rid of it.

"What are you doing?" The janitor suddenly appeared beside him. Causing Fei to jerk off, almost leaping back in shock. "W-why are you?" Fei asked, alerting. "Cleaning your dirt of course." The janitor, an old lady at her fifties, maybe forties scoffed, hinting the mop in her hand, rubbing off the trail of mud track left by him. "S-sorry." Fei kept his head low, apologizing. "Nah, those young men really are rude, kid these days." The lady waved her hand, telling him that everything is alright.

"Huh?" Fei lifted his head up, half surprised and half confused. "I saw those kids bullying you back then, shoving you. They are the one who causes all of these, not you." She swayed her mop, trying to re-act the actions of those bullies. Her action almost causes her to chuck the mop in his hand out of the corridor, luckily Fei reached his hands out and pulled it back. If not a falling mop from the six floor is something that is quite deadly. "Phew, thanks!" The woman patted his chest, calming herself down. "Y-you are welcome" Fei scratched the back of his head, embarrassed. He isn't used to kindness, somehow it felt quite nervous and strange for him. "You live here?" She turned her head towards his dorm room door and asked, pointing at wooden plate of room 666.

"Yeah…" Fei nodded slowly. "Good luck then young man." The janitor approached him and tried to pat his shoulder, but he backs up out of instinct, shaking her hand off. Years of being home abused and bullied caused him to have a weird sense of reflex, especially physical ones. "Keep your eyes sharp from those bullies, alright?" Upon seeing this, she shook her head and walked pass him. "Yeah…" He nodded his head slowly, mumbling beneath his head as the janitor headed into the elevator shaft. Suddenly, just as the door was closing, she shouted as if she just remembered something important. "And be careful at night! There is a-" Before she could finish, the door slam shut, cutting her word off. Leaving Fei standing there dumbfounded. For the first time in Tokyo he had a normal conversation, that janitor seem quite nice. He took a glimpse out of her nametag, Meg, a simple name.

"Gah…" Fei plopped himself onto the sofa, with a hot towel around his neck, warming his body. He felt a lot more refreshed after a hot steamy bath, his body no longer reek mud anymore. He take a look around his apartment; all the rooms of the entire sixth floor were connected. So while everyone of the students got ten room to share with ten strangers, he got one all for himself. One master room, two guest rooms, a gigantic kitchen, a dining room, two bathrooms and one washroom. Gotta say, it is really a steal for him, especially when all of these were free. He had been resting since afternoon, and no one show up. No roommates, just him, an entire floor for himself. He couldn't control but snicker, what a steal. "Beep-" The washing machine at the wash room beeps, his clothes were cleaned. "Ah…" He stood up, doing a stretch. He got an interview an hour later; he need to be ready.

"Alright…" He stood at the gigantic closet provided in the dorm, his clothes were arranged neatly within it, he had a habit to keep things organized. He grab himself a smart set of clothing, a button up clean white shirt, alongside a navy blue trouser. Thinking it was quite chilly here at Tokyo since it is the monsoon season, he bought alongside a waterproof jacket too. He used a tape to pull the bridge of his glasses back together, he couldn't afford a new one, but will after he nailed this job. Just when he finished dressing, he heard another beep at the washroom. This time he was completely confused, isn't that the clothes were finished cleaning just moments ago? Why is the machine beeping again?

Fei headed towards the washroom beside the bathroom. He pushed open the door and was shocked to find the beep isn't from the washing machine, but from the clothe dryer. "I didn't take the clothes out yet, though?" Fei mumbled, opening the dryer. Within the machine was a pile of dried clothes, folded neatly in small stack of squares. He didn't have the memory of taking the clothes out and placing it into the dryer too. "What happened?" He questioned himself, did his brain just short-circuited? Some sort of short-term memory lost?

"Beep, beep…" His watch beeped, reminding him about the interview that he shouldn't be late with. "Maybe I just forgot…" Fei scratched his head and left the washroom, flipping the light switch off and closing the door behind him on the way out. Yet, he failed to notice the illuminating cat like eyes staring at him from the corner of the room…
