A Night in the Military Facility - Favor - Speedrunning - Worry

Time passed by and everyone has decided to rest. They have already eaten dinner and Philip has eaten a lot since he greatly appreciate food that has incredible taste

Even thought Philip has eaten a lot, he still felt hungry and his stomach is not bloated at all. Philip may possess the rumored stomach black hole because of his reformed body. Stomach black hole describes people that can eat so much yet they don't get fat at all no matter how much they eat

'Maybe their poops are nuclear bombs'

As everyone came back in the Room Quarters, Mark, Celien, and Sheena immediately entered their rooms and slept, so that they can recover faster. Philip, Justine, Tenshi, and Elaine are left in the living room

E-1, on the other hand, stood next to a wall and stared at the wall in the kitchen without moving. Everyone found this weird and very strange, even Philip felt off. E-1 maintained this for at least more than three hours while occasionally giggling quietly

The reason the four of them stayed jn the living room is because Tenshi invited Philip and Justine to play one game of a 2D platformer. Philip and Justine agreed while Elaine stayed to watch

But Elaine motive is to pry for whatever information they might talk about and report it to Chris. Of course, Philip knew that about her. He could sense that Elaine was sneering behind him on the couch, Justine could feel it also

"By the way, when am I getting my new shotgun? The mission is tomorrow and I don't have my trump card, I'm guessing I won't be getting it sooner?"

Tenshi asked Philip as they kept their eyes on a new flatscreen TV, that was replaced after the cut flatscreen from earlier

"One day..."

Philip didn't say anymore because Elaine is behind them. Tenshi seemed to understand Philip's words and nodded

"Alright, I trust you"

They then continued playing like nothing happened. Elaine was confused and just dismissed the conversation

Philip has already changed his clothes. Since his underwear is still intact, he used it again. Besides, it's still clean from this morning when he departed from the mansion and it was washed from the torrential rain earlier. Though, to make sure, he washed it when he was changing and taking a bath earlier and dried it

He borrowed a decent sized black shirt and gray jeans from Mark. Seems like Mark had a fashion sense and he has all sorts of men's clothing in his room, so that ge could be stylish when he goes out as a civilian. He personally picked this combination of clothing for Philip because it matches him. He seemed correct because Justine saw Philip in a different image than he used to

As Philip was watching the flatscreen as he was dominating everyone by making precise pixel perfect jumps and dashes, his eyes began to glare and his vision saw the cursed finger

Earlier when they left the meeting room, Rue was waiting at the end of the hallway. Justine and the squadron members passed by because they figured that Rue was seeking for the cursed finger in Philip's possession. Philip stopped next to her and they leaned on the handle bars overlooking the first floor of the military facility

"I believe you have something that belongs to us?"

Philip turned his head to look at Rue, particularly at the eye patch on her right eye

"I'm sorry about your eye, I don't know what you saw earlier, but..."

"No worries... I did lose my magic eye and it kinda feels bad... Do you want to do something about it?"

Philip turned his head again at Rue and looked at her forehead. He then turned his head back

"Yes, but not now... You should wait"

"Hm... Okay"

Rue knew better and trusted Philip's words because of earlier. Even if he's very mysterious and dangerous, he is powerful and she might get her magic eye back. She desired the magic eye and that eye is the only proof of her past and bloodline

Philip was planning on using Origin Seeker to Rue to see what kind of spirit gave her the Eye of Diagnosis when she was a child. Magic eyes are powerful and having Rue with her magic eye may be a great asset. He would do his best for her to regain her magic eye back

But first, the disaster tomorrow should come first before anything else. That is the only reason why Philip is holding back in making developments and connections among the important figures of the military facility

Philip then turned to Rue once more and opened his right hand. The cursed finger can be seen there with the chain being broken

"Before you receive this, Rue, I want you to do a favor for me... Do you trust me?"

"Depends on the favor and yes, I trust you"

Rue trusted Philip enough the moment she laid her eyes upon him, especially when she assessed his behavior and attitude in correlation to power. It seems that Philip passed the test for the strict Rue to trust Philip well

"Tomorrow, don't stay here. I want you to go to the mansion tomorrow with this cursed finger and the ornamental box. You can bring Satou if you want, but don't mention this to Chris"

"..."

"Once you get to the mansion, give the ornamental box, with the cursed finger, to Jude, our head butler"

"..."

"Then tell him to tell a person named Sai to get ready"

"..."

"Do you understand?"

"Hm... Seems that something big is going to happen tomorrow... Why do I need to do this?"

"Mainly because I want you to live"

Rue's eyes widened from Philip's words

"Also, this cursed finger shouldn't be in your hands, I have a bad feeling about this finger and I'll take care of it"

"What do you mean you want me to live? Will a calamity fall on the base"

"I won't say anything more..."

"Hm... I'll have to think about this..."

"Think about it deeply"

The reason why Philip didn't say anything more is because he has no clue or idea of what will happen. The only thing that he knows is that the military facility will cease to exist. He don't know how or why, but that's what Future Vision and the Fate Timeline is telling him

On the other hand, the reason why Philip wanted the cursed finger is because the origin is very mysterious. Whose finger is it from? Where did they even find it?

Philip also refrained from using Origin Seeker on the finger because of tomorrow's mission. He is also tired since he has used Origin Seeker at least five times for one day, not to mention the mental world that he entered when he read the list of Pureblood abilities that Alucard gave him

In any case, the cursed finger might give him some answers regarding curses. Camille's curse and the Natsu Clan's curse, perhaps even his forbidden ability of Curse Invocation

Philip shook his head and his vision returned to the flatscreen where they are already jumping in a series of one pixel platforms

While playing the platformer, he momentarily entered the Fate Timeline to check on something because his insight is telling him some good news

As he entered the Fate Timeline, he first checked the Doomed Branching Timeline. Then, as he suspected, Tenshi's Fate was glowing brightly with golden light. It suddenly detached itself from the Doomed Branching Timeline and flew towards the Golden Timeline and orbitted the line along with the Fate Spheres of the residents of the mansion

Philip was confused but he was happy. He thought that Tenshi has been completely saved and she won't be doomed to something horrible. He smiled and went back to reality

At this point, they have beaten the platformer game in record time. They have beaten the world record and three names will be put in top 1 of the leaderboard, Angel, Omega, and Energy. This will not cause a massive wave in the gaming world since the Gaming Angel is with Omega and Energy, but experts are losing their minds

In terms of their speedrun time, it has beaten the previous time of 6:47, hours and minutes. The three of them has beaten the game in just 2:45, five times faster when Tenshi solo'd the game. It just shows how skillful Philip and Justine is, in terms of gaming and using their abilities

"Yay! We did it!"

Tenshi rejoiced and Justine gave a satisfied smile. It's already nine in the evening by the time they completed the game

"I can't believe we finished the game that fast! Even me alone can only go as fast as 10 hours"

"Is it that hard? Seems like it was easy enough!"

Justine thought that the game was easy

"It's because you're you, you know?"

"What does that supposed to mean? Oh wait, it's already this late! We should rest now, no?"

"Yeah, you're right... How about you Philip? How're you feeling?"

Tenshi asked Philip since he hasn't said a single word when the game is done and he put the controller down on the floor

Philip didn't reply and casually stood up, Justine and Tenshi followed is ascent with their eyes

"You guys go on ahead, I'll go to the cafeteria to eat a little more"

"I'll come with you!"

"Me too!"

Justine and Tenshi offered to accompany him simultaneously

"Hmmm... I think I would like to be alone this time"

"..."

"..."

"Also, Elaine had fallen asleep on the couch, you should guide her to her room or carry her"

Philip was talking to Tenshi because she knows where Elaine's room is located. Even though he's indifferent towards Elaine, he would at least show some kind of care, like the person he once was

"I'll carry her"

Justine went ahead and carried Elaine. Tenshi wouldn't be able to carry Elaine because of her body size, even though Elaine is just 15 years old

"Tenshi, can you please open the door?"

Philip asked Tenshi because only the squadron members and Chris are the only ones who can open the door of the Room Quarters by themselves

"Right"

Tenshi unlocked the door and opened it for Philip. He then walked towards the door and exited. As he was exiting, Justine called out to him

"Philip! If there's any problem or if there's something bothering you... You can always talk to me, okay?"

This time, Justine didn't know what was going on in Philip's mind unlike when she used to. Justine can mostly read and predict the hidden meaning behind his actions, but not at the moment

"Same as for me, even though we just met today!"

Tenshi also tried to make Philip feel better

Philip slightly turned his head around and gave them an empty smile

"Heh... I know and I appreciate it"

Philip then continued to exit and walk through the hallway leading through the cafeteria. Justine and Tenshi watched until Philip turned the corner and closed the door

Justine and Tenshi then looked at each other's eyes filled with worry

"Is he going to be okay?"

Tenshi asked. She doesn't know Philip very well but Justine might

"I believe in him. He has gone through a lot and maybe this is one of his days where his mind is full of thoughts"

"Really? If you say so..."

Tenshi felt slightly relieved from Justine's words. She then steeled herself and asked Justine a question that has been bothering her

"Justine..."

"Yeah?"

"Who are you to Philip?"

Justine smiled at Tenshi's answer and took it as a gesture that Tenshi wanted to know more of her

"C'mon, I'll tell you after we drop off Elaine. Let's talk in my room"

"Okay!"

It was then that Justine and Tenshi spent the night talking about themselves and Philip
