Mastering new skills.

Raiden wakes up feeling refreshed, his injuries feel better. He got up and went outside to take a light jog like he did yesterday. He activated [Body Enchantment: Lvl 1] as he was jogging. He has been jogging for a long time when the Village Chief.

The Village Chief just nodded and walked away.

After a while, Raiden approached Ena who was practicing with her bow.

"So how are you feeling?" Ena asked Raiden.

"I'm fine, you?" He answered.

"I was just exhausted, you were the only one injured," Ena said as she shoots another arrow.

"It's not your fault, We just got In a terrible situation," Raiden said.

Ena ignored Raiden and continued practicing her bow. Each of her shots was getting faster and faster.

"How about next time we hunt closer to the village," Raiden suggested with a big smile.

"And what, come back here empty-handed, that's what most of the hunters are doing. They are too afraid to hunt further north," Ena said as she shoots three arrows in a row.

"Ok, since you're so stubborn let get stronger then," Raiden walks in front of Ena, and she stopped shooting.

"Try hitting me," Raiden put his hand forward taunting Ena.

"Are you serious? this sounds stupid, you sound stupid," Ena said.

"It's not, trust me I have an idea. If this works it can help you too." Raiden prepares his stance.

Ena took a deep breath, "This will hurt you know," Ena aimed her bow at Raiden.

"Don't worry just trust me on this. If it doesn't work ill still be safe." Raiden tried assuring Ena.

"If you say so," Ena readies an arrow and aims at Raiden.

As Ena prepares to shoot, Raiden is also preparing.

He channels his mana all over his body. It felt similar to [Body Enchantmen].

'This is not it' Raiden focuses his mana on his nerves starting from his hand. He felt the air around his hands even more and also the dust that lands in his hand.

'This is it' Raiden then repeats the process again keeping the mana in his hands this time starting on his feet. He felt the ground beneath him tremble lightly, as well as the small insects crawling about.

He started making his mana flow from the nerve endings on his feet and hands inward, into his spine. he felt his skin shiver all over, all of his skin felt like millions of spiders were crawling. The feeling was quick and it subsided quickly. he then proceeds to make flow upward to his brain. Upon his mana enting his brain, Raiden felt a flash of sensation. from pain to pleasure his skin was like its burning. Just like before it was abrupt, almost no time passed when he felt it.

He then heard Ena say "Ok here goes."

After Raiden heard Ena's words, He felt all his senses get boosted. As he looks at Ena's bow he concentrates, he can see the chips on the tip of the arrow. Then when Ena let the arrow go, everything slowed down. The arrow was almost staying still in the air, but it was not, it was accelerating. Only in Raiden's perspective is it staying still.

Raiden tried to move but his body felt stiff. No matter how much he forces his body was barely moving. 'kusso.'

He then activates [Body Enchantment: Lvl 1]. While his mana was circulating in his body and nerves, [Body Enchantment] is upgraded by two levels and is now [Body Enchantment: Lvl 3]. Now Raiden is able to move, but it feels like he is dragging his entire body with extra weight in every movement. He then activates [Speed Boost: Lvl 2] which is also upgraded by one level. With both [Body Enchantment: Lvl 3] and [Speed Boost: Lvl 3] active Raiden can move. Even though in this state his movements feel slower and heavier in his normal state it is still progress nonetheless.

While looking at the arrow that has now separated from the bow, Raiden walks to his left. After judging the distance between him and the arrow he is now sure to not get hit.

He is starting to feel his mana being drained, so he cancels all three skills including the newly learned [Mental Acceleration: Lvl 1].

After deactivating the skills everything felt normal. Raiden then shouts, "I did it," after being thrown by a force from his right side. Ena's arrow hits the ground a few meters from where Raiden was standing and exploded.

"I forgot about inertia," Raiden mumbled while laying on the floor.

"Inner what?" Ena asked as she approaches Raiden.

"Nothing, so how about it? I told you I'll be fine," Raiden said as he sits on the ground he landed on.

"What did you do?" Ena asked. From her perspective, the only thing that happened was when Raiden opened his eyes, she took her shot. Afterward, Raiden just appeared on her right side shouted, and was immediately flung.

Raiden explains what he experienced including the new skill [Mental Acceleration].

"Are you crazy, That's like one of the most forbidden acts in using your mana, never pour your mana on your head," Ena Angrily said. she furthers explains that there have been mages and non-mages alike who sought for more knowledge, they tried pouring their mana into their head just like how one would use the skill [Body Enchantment], in the end, they were all met with the same fate of their heads exploding due to the amount of mana they poured in.

"But my head didn't explode, nor did I gain more knowledge," Raiden explained.

"No matter, next time tell me if you are going to do something dangerous," Ena sermoned Raiden. She is scared that one person she considers her friend would just die from something that could have been avoided.

"Sure, besides now that I learned a new skill maybe I can teach it to you, payment for teaching me," Raiden said with a big smile.

"Are you sure that it's safe, I told you people's heads exploded from this," Ena asked worriedly. Who would want their head to explode?

"You said that they pour their mana to their heads like how you do it in [Body Encahntment]. Well, we won't be pouring mana directly into our heads. You know how trees have roots, we will be doing something similar to how plants gather water." Raiden explained. In his mind, before doing this he just needed to find a way to react faster, and the brain is not connected to anything else other than the nerves in his body he knows that the brain and the muscle are made of different tissues and the mana that [Body Encantment] uses will not benefit his brain. Just like a car, upgrading the engine is different from changing to a better driver. Both make the car go faster but they are very different means.
