I got a call from my real boss telling me to look into a death in the park to make sure it's not a homicide case. I asked my commanding officer if we got any new cases and he nodded.

"Nice what is it?"

"We are going to see if a mugging at the park is a real mugging or a homicide." said the commanding officer.

"Nice do you need me to come with you?"

"Sure why not." laughed the commanding officer.

When the officer wasn't looking I texted Max telling him that I was assigned it but only to make sure that it is a real mugging and not a homicide. Max responded that he expects me to say that it looks like a mugging. I told him I would do as he said. He sent me 10 thousand dollars texting me that this is for doing a good job and he said don't tell anyone that he works for the Phenix Group.

I rode along with my partner who was also a corrupt cop.

"Hey I've noticed that you have two phones what is that for?" asked Officer Oliver.

"Oh, it's a burner phone."

"Nice, so who do you work for?" he asked.

"I can't say I don't know if you're bugged."

He took off his shirt showing me that he isn't bugged and I searched his bag to make sure he wasn't bugged for sure.

"I work for Phenix."

"I heard rumors about that group. I heard that they are the world's best assassins that would kill anyone for money," explained Oliver, "How much did they pay you to get on this case?"

"10,000 dollars just for coming to work."

"Can I get some of that action I have so much debt?" asked Oliver.

I texted my boss if my fellow corrupt cop could work for him. Make sure he isn't trying to use you to get to us texted Max.

"I know that look no I am not trying to get your boss. I could just use the extra money," explained Oliver.

Oliver somehow convinced me to ask my boss for a meeting. Max agreed but told him that it won't be with him. It will be with his brother. They parked outside an abandoned building and walked inside to find a man wearing all black.

"My brother recently recruited me, but I am in charge of recruiting new people who I think could come of use for us," explained Ace.

"What can we call you?"

"Ace," said Ace, "Oliver Offling, what do you have to offer us?"

"I was in the black ops seals for twenty years so I know how to use a gun well. I can also do anything you ask without any remorse," explained Oliver.

Ace put a finger up and placed his finger to his ear saying, "You think he could come of use for you."

Some mumbling and Ace agreed and looked at Oliver tossing him a phone and said, "We will contact you with this phone do not lose it. Keep it with you always."

"Let's get to the park before our commanding officer started to ask questions. Let's get coffee so we have an excuse for being late."

We went to get Starbucks and arrived at the park for coffee for everyone.

"You might be my favorite detective." laughed the commanding officer.

"It looks like a mugging to me," said Oliver.

I nodded and agreed with his statement. The commanding officer agreed and the case was closed. Oliver texted me telling me that he just got paid 10,000 dollars and he was so excited to pay off his debt.
