Chapter 3
"So you are saying that she's a goddess?" Steven, Skylar's younger brother asked. Skylar sighed. He had been asking this same question for the past 1 hour. She had Decided to tell him since he was always interested in things like this. Now she was wondering why he was finding hard to believe.
"For the umpteenth time Steven, yes she is."
"I don't believe you." He said and Skylar groaned.
"Why am I still doing this?" She asked herself. She looked at Saphari who was trying to figure out what the brown liquid was. "If you were going to stare at it, why order it?"
"First of all, I'm not staring at it. Second, I saw everyone asking for it so I did so. And third, what is this?" She asked.
"You don't know what it is and you want to drink it?"
"Hey, if I'm gonna be living with mortals I have to act like one." She said raising the cup up.
"That's a coffee. And what if it kills you?"
"I'm an immortal Skylar, nothing can harm me."
"So you are actually a Goddess?"
"Yes Steven, I am."
"Cool. So your name is Saphari?"
"Yes" then she turned to Skylar, "I can't answer that name."
"Why?"
"It's a Godly name. Mortals can't call it the way they like."
"So what name would you answer then?" Skylar asked. Before she could answer, a lady yelled.
"Alexander Sanders, come here this instant." The woman yelled. A tall boy like about 16 or 17 came down from a car. He didn't look happy that his mother called him like that in front of everyone.
"I'll answer Alexander Sanders." Saphari suddenly said. Steven laughed which earned him a flare from his sister. Saphari didn't like the way he laughed at her. 'Father really have me the worst punishment. Being laughed at by a mortal is a very big insult on my path.' "Would you care to tell me why you are laughing?"
"Sorry, that was rude," he apologized, "but Alexander is a guy's name."
"Oh... So I have to think of a new one."
"Or you can just answer Alexandra. Alexa for short."
"Ok. I will answer that." She smiled. Steven looked at his phone. "Gotta go sis."
"Oh.. 'kay bye." She waved at her brother and watched him leave. Then she faced Saphari, "So Saphari.."
"It's Alexa now, not Saphari." Alexa corrected.
"Ok, 'Alexa', how does heaven look like?"
"Heaven? Who said we live in heaven?"
"Well, isn't that where you God's and Goddess's live?" Skylar asked, a bit confused.
"No, it's not heaven, it's called Olympus."
"Oh.. so how is it like?"
"Boring If you ask me. Nothing to do." Alexa casually said. Skylar thought she was joking, so she laughed. Alexa was surprised. "Why are laughing?" Skyler couldn't stop laughing and it got on her nerves. When Skylar saw that Alexa wasn't happy, she stopped laughing. "Why did you laugh?" Alexa asked, this time sounding more angry.
"Sorry, I thought you were joking about it being boring."
"So you decided to laugh?"
"I said I'm sorry no need to get cranky about it." Skylar retorted. Alexa was livid. 'isnt this girl scared that I can take her life with just a snap of my fingers? She really has the nerves to laugh at me?' She knew she couldn't kill her for some reason, so she stood up and left. Skylar saw her leaving looked at her speechlessly. 'was she really that angry?' she thought over everything thing and felt she had killed he pride. She is a Goddess after all and she has to be treated with respect no matter where she is. But she didn't do that at all, instead, she had been laughing at her. She knew that if she was in her case, she would be more than enraged. She quickly got up and ran to meet her.
"Why are you angry? I said I was sorry." Alexa didn't answer her, instead her face turned colder. Skylar knew she was making it worst so she hard to try another method. She reached to hold her but her skin burned her hand slightly. 'so now I have to run after her?? This is going to be a long day.' she sighed ND followed her.
"Look I'm sorry. I know I made you feel bad but I truly am sorry. I didn't mean it, really." Hearing those words 'feel bad' really made her feel bad for herself. First, her father threw her down to earth to live with mortals, then a mortal saw her fall and this same mortal is laughing at her, taking her as a big joke.
Alexa stopped walking and faced her. "The reason I can't kill you is because I can't." She said. Skylar was shocked.
"Wait kill???" She asked, not believing what she said. 'kill me??? Wow, she must be really mad at me'
"Yes kill. I wan to, but I can't bring myself to do it. So please dont make me angry."
"That's a promise for sure." She paused, "so am I forgiven?"
"Yeah sure"
"Thank God." She released a breath she didn't know she had been holding.
"So re you doing anything today?"
"Oh yeah. I'm going shopping."
"Oh shopping... What's shopping?" Skylar looked at her strangely. Right, she's a Goddess.
"Well shopping, how will I explain this, ok it's when you go and buy stuff at the shopping mall."
" Hmmm... Ok, what's is 'buy' and 'shopping mall'?" Alexa asked again. Skylar sighed. She never knew one dey she would be explaining these things to someone one day.
"Ok, a shopping mall is a place you buy stuff. I'll explain 'buy' when we get there."
"Ok"
So they went to the shopping mall. Some of Skylar's friends were already there. Skylar introduced Alexa to her friends. After the introduction, they went in. Skylar had already explained 'buy' for Alexa.
"So how are you going to pay for the things you bought?" Skylar asked Alexa. She had convinced her to buy some clothes since she can't be wearing her clothes Everytime. Right now she was wearing her yellow off shoulder top with her high waist jeans. It really looked good on her but she needs hers.
"Dont worry, I got this." She put her hand in her back pocket and brought out a credit card.
"How did that get there?"
"You seen to forget that I'm a Goddess. I can do anything." After there had finished buying and paying, Skylar told her friends bye and left with Alexa to her house. Her parents were at home, so she told that Alexa was a foreign exchange student. She didn't tell her parents the country since she couldn't think of one.
Soon dinner was ready, but Alexa didn't eat since she didn't know what they were eating. After dinner, Skylar took her upstairs to her room. When Alexa saw the bed, she went straight to it and lied down and not long after She slept. Skyler saw that she was asleep and smiled. She joined her on the bed and soon fell asleep too.
