Allen's anger instantly dissipated. It dawned on him that he cared too much about Blanché; without any news from her, he would become anxious and restless.
"Where's Matthew?" Blanché asked. "I haven't seen him."
Usually, Matthew would stay at home for a while before leaving, but today he was nowhere to be found.
"He went to do something else. If you're going to be late coming back, just give me a call," Allen replied.
Noticing something off in Allen's tone, Blanché said, "What, are you worried about me?"
Allen didn't admit it, but his expression said it all.
"Don't worry, I don't have any enemies. I'm just taking Jason out for a casual stroll; it's nothing serious," Blanché teased.
Allen retorted, "Who's worried about you? I'm just afraid you might go see…"
See who? Blanché noticed that Allen didn't finish his sentence, but she already had an answer in her mind. So, he was worried she might go looking for Felix. How paranoid!
