Chapter 97 Workplace Struggles

Leslie, standing at the entrance of the pantry, raised an eyebrow as she watched.

"Why is it taking so long?" Allen complained as soon as Blanche had left for a moment.

"I'm serving you, of course I need to be careful," Blanche replied helplessly.

Allen chuckled quietly, "It's rare to see you so attentive."

"Of course, when have I not been attentive? But it's almost time to get off work; can I have a little free time?"

"Where are you planning to go?"

"I'm going to pick up Jason. He's switched to a new school, and I want to check in on how he's doing."

"I'll go with you."

"Don't." Blanche was quite resistant.

Allen frowned, "Jason is my son too."

"I know that. What I mean is, if you go, it will draw a lot of attention, and I don't want to cause any trouble for my son."

Allen felt that her words implied he was a burden.

"What, is it embarrassing for me to be Jason's father?"
