Pain. It was one of many downsides to being a Tribrid. Normally, people would scoff when they heard Addison say that there were downsides. 'What could possibly be the downside of being two of the most powerful beings in the world - incapable of being killed?'
And to that Addison would simply answer, Pain. The emotions of a vampire, a wolf, and a hybrid were enhanced. This was common knowledge - it was how they fell in love so easily, why the humanity switch was flipped so often. They felt the pain any human would feel multiplied by ten - twenty if you were a hybrid.
But, Hope and Addison? They felt that pain magnified by 100. It grabbed their heart and squeezed it in an unrelenting grasp that caused the air to freeze in their lungs, a knot to form in their throat - their entire being torn between anger at whoever caused it and pain that threatened to leave them nothing more than an empty shell begging to be filled.
Hope had known that - she had been the first to feel it, and as a result had flipped her switch almost instantaneously. Addison to this day still wasn't even sure if Hope had meant to flip it or in all of the disorientation and pain she had just…Instinctively run from it. With as much pain as they had already felt in their lives - any excuse to leave it all behind must have been too good to pass up.
And in this case? Hope hadn't killed Rebekah for no reason. Hope was their father's daughter -especially without her humanity but she wasn't stupid. Everything she did, she did for a reason. All of her actions served a purpose and Addison knew Hope hadn't killed her mama for no reason - no this was premeditated.
She should have known that Hope would do it - she had threatened to make Addison feel the pain she felt, not because it was Addison's fault but because Hope wanted to prove that in her place even Addison Camila Mikaelson - the one who despite being the youngest had always been her sisters keeper - would flip her humanity switch.
It was why a part of Addison, until today at least, had been convinced that not all of Hope was lost - that despite her humanity being off, it was merely a way to protect herself from feeling anymore hurt, loss or pain. Addison wouldn't make the mistake of underestimating her big sister again.
She was broken out of her spiraling when Josie nearly tackled her in a hug - Dom dropping limply to the floor where he stayed, not bothering to so much as move as he curled into a fetal position. Dom was a strong and powerful man but his weakness had been Rebekah and their unborn daughter. Hope knew that.
"I'm here, I'm here.." Josie was whispering it desperately in her ear, clinging to her as if she was waiting for her to disappear. Addison realized Josie too had figured out what Hope had planned - and Josie was afraid Addison losing her second mother was enough to push her over the edge. And while the pain she felt was stifling, crippling, nearly paralyzing. It was nothing compared to what she would feel if she lost her wife and child. Hope knew that too.
Addison squeezed Josie's waist in acknowledgement and grit her teeth - her fangs grinding together, she couldn't afford to be lost to herself. To wallow in her pain. In fact, she refused to do it. What she wanted was her 'mama' back - and it wasn't too late for her to do it.
Addison pulled away from Josie and moved to Dominique, forcing him to look into her now glowing and golden eyes - "Snap out of it!" She commanded in her alpha voice - and he did. Instantly he was on his feet, the light hadn't returned to his eyes - the tears still falling, but he was standing and that was all she truly needed from him. She gave him a single nod of acknowledgement that he returned.
He trusted her and that was all she needed in this moment.
"Take Rafael and retrieve mama's body," Addison told him as she left the living room, walking with steps full of purpose toward her own bedroom. She knew they would do as she asked without question. This was her pack - and she was the alpha.
She could feel Josie's eyes on her as she entered their room. Heard as Josie shut the door behind them. As soon as Josie opened her mouth, Addison was on her. Josie's legs wrapped around her waist and her back pressed against the wall as Addison took her mouth in a kiss full of desperation.
She had to feel something if she was going to get through this - and that something had to be more than the pain threatening to crush her.
Josie knew as she usually did - they were so in sync it was startling in the beginning, but now? After nearly two years of marriage and another two years of dating before that, it was familiar and pure instinct.
Addison's nails ripped the robe off Josie's body with a practiced ease - it falling to pieces by her feet. Without detaching her lips she moved towards their bed. They didn't have as much time as Addison preferred but she needed this more than she was willing to admit right now.
She laid Josie on the bed as if she was a piece of fine silk and stood to admire her naked body in the moonlight offered through the curtains. It was the only light in the room, not that it bothered either of them with their enhanced sight. Josie was looking up at her with such an open expression on her face that Addison dived back in and claimed her lips again.
She let Josie rip her own robe off and slid her fingers down Josie's body. From her neck, down her chest and across her stomach - slowly and teasingly. She smirked when Josie's breath hitched the closer she got to the apex of her thighs and chuckled when her wife growled against her lips when she skipped where she wanted her the most.
Addison climbed onto the bed, hovering over her wife - as she slowed the tempo of their kiss and the pain began to recede. Josie and Alana were the only one's who could bring her back from the brink. Hope knew that and as a result they were in danger. She had no idea if Josie realized it - if she realized how serious the situation was. That their little girl was in danger.
That Hope had become the monster in the night after Addison's baby girl but it didn't matter either way - Addison would do anything to protect those she loved, and she would die before she let Hope harm her daughter.
"Hey," Josie called to her, legs wrapped around her waist and hands on either side of her face, "Come back to me."
Only then did Addison realize she hadn't been kissing Josie any longer, instead she had taken to laying her body against the younger brunette's - her face buried in her neck as the grip around Josie was air tight. One thing Addison knew was she could not lose her wife or daughter.
"We're right here, We're safe. You'll protect us," Josie didn't stop her assurances, running her fingers through Addison's hair. Josie too was more than aware that Hope was most likely going to come after Alana and herself next. If she wanted to get to Addison - the way to do that was to take away everyone she loved. Everyone that made her who she was - everyone that kept her human.
Addison leaned up on her elbow, looking down on Josie with eyes full of unshed tears. "The things I have to do …"
"We," Josie interrupted immediately, firmly but gently. "The things we have to do, Addi. We are a team, it isn't you against the world, baby. It's us."
"Us," Addison repeated with a nod. Josie was with her - even if she had to do some unforgivable things. That was all she had needed to hear.
She leaned down again and claimed Josie's lips - as they usually did the kisses started out softly, passionately and picked up intensity as lust took over the love they shared. Or maybe that wasn't the way to describe it - maybe it joined the lust, like a long lost friend that simply joined into one.
Reaching one hand up to grab onto the headboard, Addison pulled back again - looking into Josie's eyes for any signs of hesitation. She had never entered Josie without her permission, she never would.
Josie dug her nails into Addison's back and lifted her hips as encouragement but Addison simply smirked, "use your words, ma fleur précieuse." French. Josie's favorite language. {my precious flower}
The words drew a needy whine from Josie's throat, "Please, Addison. Pleas - "
Josie's pleas were cut off by Addison pushing the tip of herself into Josie. She was already more than ready for her - even still Addison kept her pace slow. Inch by inch.
Addison hadn't been born intersex - it had happened after she triggered her werewolf curse. Klaus had told her it was the sign of a true alpha, being able to pass on your seed and procreate. It had taken some getting used too but Josie was - thankfully - pansexual, so she hadn't cared what was between Addison's legs.
Addison was a grower, not a shower - and her size was nothing to scoff at. She gripped the headboard tighter to fight her urge to simply rut into her wife. Her alpha was an impatient and greedy ass when it came to sex but Addison's will was stronger. Josie always set the pace - Addison was stronger than her and as a result never did anything that could possibly harm her wife.
Finally she bottomed out, both brunette's panting against each other - soft moans leaving Josie's mouth as she tried to keep her volume to a manageable level. They hadn't even thought of a silencing spell and magic was the last thing on Addison's mind at the moment.
"You can move.." Josie managed to breathe between pants, and Addison offered her neck. Josie often took to biting the junction between her shoulder and neck when they had to be quiet - it made Addison's alpha proud to take care of her queen in that way.
As soon as Josie's fangs slipped into Addison's neck, Addison released a sound that was between a growl and a groan of pleasure. She pulled nearly all the way out and then pushed her entire length in - reveling in the way Josie half moaned and half growled as Addison's blood slipped into her mouth and she bottomed out again.
Josie dug her nails into Addison's back, scratching her way down as she grunted with each thrust - they weren't fast, and they weren't slow but they were hard - just the way Josie liked it. Her lips leave Addison's neck only to lap at the wound as blood continues to flow.
"Yes," Josie hisses, between pants, grunts and gasps - lifting her hips in time with Addison's strokes, "Harder! Faster, Please!"
Addison could do nothing but give her flower exactly as she asked for - her hips began to set a brutal pace driving into her wife.
"Don't stop. Fuck!" Josie chanted, "ughn, ughn, ughn," Left her throat repeatedly into Addison's ear until she sealed her mouth on Addison once more. Biting down in a new spot but it muffled her cries.
Suddenly Josie's head slammed back, her back arching as her nails dug painfully into Addison's back - drawing blood but she welcomed the pain with her own pleasure. Her own growls and grunts leaving her throat as she properly fucked her wife. This is what she needed - to feel her wife squeezing her so tight it was borderline painful but oh so welcome. She changed the angle so she could go deeper drawing a sound that was close to a scream from Josie. Addison swallowed it with her mouth, her tongue exploring every inch of Josie's mouth.
"Look at you," Addison spoke in low breathy whispers, knowing just what was needed to get her wife off, she never finished before Josie. "Writhing desperate and needy underneath the big bad Tribrid,"
It really was that easy, with another loud scream swallowed by Addison's mouth Josie came, her body jerking from the power of her orgasm while Addison released a low, long and pleasure filled growl and allowed herself her own release.
She collapsed against Josie when it was over - both breathing hard and sweaty. Addison nuzzled her neck and was pleased to find her previous internal battle had settled some.
Josie was her's. She was like coming home after a long trip away, like the smell of an oncoming storm, like the warmth of a fire after being out in the cold. Josie was her home.
"I love you, ma fleur précieuse" Addison whispered, knowing they only had a few more minutes before they had to acknowledge the death of her 'mama' and just what Addison planned on doing to get her back.
"I love you, mon taureau," Josie teased with a kiss to Addison's nose.
"Bull? Really?" Addison's eyes were mirth filled even with her nose scrunched in apparent distaste.
Josie merely hummed in response, "To most of the world you will always be your family's namesake - just like Ferdinand - but to me and our daughter you are nothing more than our gentle protector who wouldn't hurt a fly unless that fly was trying to hurt us."
Of course, Alana and Jackson's favorite movie - Ferdinand the bull. She should have known, and she couldn't explain to you why hearing those words out of her wife's mouth made her want to cry. Both in tears of hurt at the burden her family name carried and tears of love for the woman she wasn't sure she deserved.
Smut will be a bit more detailed in the fuutre but they didn't have a lot of time! We see what and who Hope has become now in the next chapter <3
