Chapter 86

[Cid's Pov]

So fucking boring… Their fights aren't even interesting, the only 'good' fight was when Annarose went up and it was mediocre at best.

Even the girls on the special guest seats looked bored, Beta and Alexia are only entertaining themselves by giving each other the stinkeyes, while Rose is just enjoying the food.

Good thing my turn is near, Rose still went ahead and added my name in the event.

The funny thing is I heard her whispering to herself through the shadow soldier I left in her shadows when she was filling out the form.

She said something along the lines of "Hehehe Some people already know strong Cid is but with this his name would reach far and wide and no one would then oppose our union"

It looks like my curse strikes again, I'm too handsome, sighhhhh.

After the last challenger got beaten by the memories of one of the warriors, the announcers called me up to the stage

"Time for the next challenger to step forth! A young man from the spellsword academy of Midgar… CID KAGENOU!!!"

'Show time' I thought to myself as I unleashed a hint of Conqueror's Haki creating an oppressive atmosphere causing almost everyone to start sweating and breathing heavily due to the suffocating feeling.

As I was away from everyone and made sure no one was looking I appeared in the sky wearing my Shadow persona.

"Who… who is that!" shouted someone from the audience while pointing towards me. To them I just appear as a black silhouette with a sword in hand and my long coat fluttering in the wind.

As everyone started to look up I let gravity take control and drop me to the stage.

As the land the ground beneath me cracks and caves in creating a large explosion of dust once again appearing as a silhouette… as a shadow.

I swung my slime made ebony sword clearing the dust letting everyone get a perfect view of me.

"SHADOW!" Alexia shouted standing up from her seat in shock.

Rose also rises from her seat in shock at seeing me but her words get caught by the tip of her tongue.

While Beta also stood up in surprise as I didn't tell any of the girls about this, there are 2 reasons why I didn't say anything.

1, there really was no need, And 2, this is one of the events I want it to go the same as it was told.

I haven't actively gone after a girl since my arrival into this world, my relationships with the other girls just naturally happened but Aurora, Aurora is one woman I'm willing to actively pursue.

The chance of her not appearing when I step in is really low, but not zero. And if something happened and I wasn't able to meet her I would be quite sad at the missed opportunity, so this event needed to go as it was told.

The Nelson guy looked towards my direction in shock, "So you're Shadow!!! Gather the Holy Knights, I don't know what he's after but don't let him escape" he ordered.

Strips of Runes start to fly around me gathering information about me to see who would be worthy would be.

Reading the Runes a smile tugged on my lips.

"That Light!" Beta shouted in surprise,

"Here comes the opponent of Shadow!" Alexia yelled out in anticipation.

A white light shone brightly on stage with Runes shattering spelling something else, something Beta read out loud "Aurora?"

"It can't be!" Nelson shouted nervously, "Did he actually summon her memory?! Was Shadow chosen by her, then?! The Witch of Ruins, Aurora!!!"

As she appeared before me I zoned out the world around me and just focused on, apart from being beautiful she is powerful, although I know I'm going to win it doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy this fight.

I paid attention to her every single movement, as she is doing the same to me.

A conversation with just the twitches and little movement of our bodies.

And so I say with my body I say, "Ladies first" which caused a tiny smile to form in her otherwise cold face, if it wasn't for my enhanced and superior senses I would have missed it.

She sent a wave of magic through the floor of the arena causing it to break when it reached my destination trying to harm me.

When I simply moved out the way her magic came out from the ground and started compressing itself together creating pure solid construct made of her magic.

These constructs took the form of various weapons which floated in the air aimed towards me.

Aurora sent the magic made weapons flying towards my direction, when they were about to make contact I simply used Rulers Authority to stop them in their tracks.

With a point of my finger I willed her magic made weapons to point towards her direction.

But before I could return her weapons towards her she willed her magic constructs to go berserk and explode.

I swung my blade around me, collecting all the explosion's power and stored it into my sword, where I proceeded to send the explosion's power back towards her with a slash.

Aurora moved back dodging the slash, which only ended up creating a large gash on the ground.

Aurora's grin broadened, as she released a small chuckle.

She summoned more of her magic, her magic remained in its pure form but just made it sharper and pointer.

She sent them flying towards me. I simply deflected with my sword but as I did she constructed a scythe in her hands and made her way towards me.

With a smile on my face I go meet her in the middle where a large explosion of force occurs due to our strengths, which kicked up a dust storm.

She waved her scythe towards me trying to cut me but I deflected it, and sent a slash of my own.

With each second we exchange moves, the more our speed increases to the point that the dust that was once obscuring us was swept away.

Our bodies moved together as if we were dancing a dangerous dance, even if it wasn't of any danger towards me.

Aurora backed away and sent multiple slashes made with her magic towards me, which I just ran towards them and cut them apart with my sword.

When I arrived before her I swung my blade in a straight line. She tried to block it with the blade of her scythe but all it ended up doing was break it.

She jumped back, but instead of creating more constructs she turned her magic into a red liquid form, where she proceeded to send it towards me as a type of long projectile from every direction.

I maneuver myself through the air, dodging it all. I placed my feet on top of it and slid across them using it as a slide to make my way around them.

I used my sword to cut any of those projectiles that came too close. As I cut through them all, I disappeared from her view and cut right through her image, ending the fight.

But before she disappeared I whispered in a way only she could hear, "I'll see you soon", causing her to smile and widen her eyes in surprise and shatter as if she was made out of glass.

I mentally called upon igris who appeared before me. He held out his cape, I walked into the cape disappearing from everyone's eyes and reappearing a few meters away from the Colosseum.

And after a few seconds Igris sank into the shadow and reappeared inside mine, leaving everyone back on the Colosseum with their mouths open in shock at such a display of skill…
