Trapped - Agnes

The fire in the hearth is crackling, radiating warmth. I cover myself with a small blanket as I sit on the couch. Riana comes before me. She beckons for me to follow her and I feel my nerves come flooding back. We walk through the corridor and into a cold cell. She motions for me to sit on the singular chair in the center of the room. I sit down as she winds chains around me, strapping me to the chair. She picks up a cloth and gags me. Then she leaves.

I am all alone. I am tired and feel faint from dehydration. Whether it has been hours or days I no longer know, for all sense of time is gone in this windowless cell. I know that once this is done, there is no turning back. But this is important. I need to do this for my plan to succeed.

Just as it feels like I have been in this cell for months, Riana walks back in the room. She unties my chains and then shoved my face onto the ground. My hands a pulled behind my back and tied. She rolls me over before wrapping her hand into my hair. She yanks hard and pulls me up to eye level. A small smile creeps up on her face, her eyes glistening with malice. I hold my breath as she lets go but I manage to land on my feet. She pushes me forward and I oblige, taking one small step after another. She shoves me down onto the ground and I hit it hard. She rips off my gag before sitting at a large desk. She picks up a quill, dipping it into ink and then scribbling something onto the parchment.

"Please, please, don't harm my brother. You can torture me as much as you want, but never ever touch him." My voice cracks as I plead.

Riana finished the letter, before sealing it and handing it to a guard who rushes away. Riana unties me once the guard is out of sight.

"Your acting is very good Master." Her voice is strange to hear but I feel comfort knowing I control it.

"Why thank you Riana. Let's get to work shall we."
