The Alpha or her Brother?

Life at the Oceans Pack made her wish the nightmare which was her parents' death didn't happen, if there was a time machine she would go and turn the events of that day and its awful night. She would be the first person to pick it up and turn to that morning and to ask her parents to change their plans.

The hot showers which she used to enjoy at home weren't here, but that wasn't what she missed. She had forgotten that she had boiled some water to add to the cold one so she could take a bath.

If it wasn't for the fact that she had walked from her workplace to the house she would have prepared her supper and taken a shower the next morning.

Shivering she removed her clothes and took her shower while thinking of what were the possible reasons the alpha had sent his beta to look for her, straining to listen if there were any murmur outside, she just smiled at how stupid she was looking at that moment.

She had forgotten what it meant to live without thinking of using her wolf hearing in the house. After taking her shower she took her favorite evening cloth, wear them, and started taking the things she had brought out from the shopping bag.

At the sight of the ice cream and chocolate, she threw the things to the ground with a yelp. Anyone would have thought it was hot, however, it was something else.

Obsessing over what was going on in the Oceans Pack she had forgotten that Jordan wasn't there.

"Where the hell are you, Jordan?" She asked herself that question as she hurriedly tried to look for her shoes so she can go and find his brother.

She scolded herself wondering how that happened in the first place, how she didn't even realize that his brother wasn't there. She thought of how that was the first step of being a very bad sister.

The step to becoming an awful guardian, for God's sake it was only the two of them. How could she have forgotten that after coming home from school if she didn't go and pick Jordan up from school it would take a few minutes for Jordan to arrive at the house?

She didn't want to think of anything, any possibility.

She didn't want to overact.

She wanted to be calm, wear her shoes and head out to look for her brother.

But that wasn't happening, she knew she was overthinking and fast before she could even call Timothy's mother and ask why she hadn't brought Jordan yet. For anyone that would have been the first step, don't panic, call the person you called to bring your kid brother from school, and ask what has happened.

Gal didn't have that memo.

She had many reasons to start panicking, but she knew she needed first to get a trophy on the, "Worst sister."

It shouldn't be a big deal if they were normal wolves, staying in their pack house. She was hiding and she was playing over and over all possible scenarios. Of what was happening or maybe has happened to her brother.

She didn't mind closing the door, after all, what was is in the room to be stolen?

A broom maybe?

Or her and Jordan's bag?

There was nothing in there, nothing worth stealing.

She was running down the stairs and almost fell but got saved by someone.

"Hello Gal, where are you running to?" The man asked.

"Hello to you too." She replied to the man and she was ready to continue running but stood still when the picture of the person came back to her mind.

It was the Beta of Oceans Pack.

That was not the way the wolves were supposed to greet their betas even if the pack was comprised of werewolves from different packs. The beta was still the beta, and he or she was supposed to be greeted with respect. That was that.

She turned and face the man, "Good evening, sorry about that I am running somewhere urgently."

The beta stared at her, scrutinizing her, wondering why a grown-up woman would run in the house like.

"It's okay." He smiled at her.

It seems like time stood still, the man was smiling at her and all she wanted was for the man to tell her, "Okay, good to see you." And off she would be on her way.

"Okay, I was coming to your room. The alpha wants to speak to you." The beta said.

Gal wanted to tell him that the meeting can wait, she would come back and attend to what the alpha wanted her to do. Or listen to what the alpha wanted to tell her. Either way, she didn't care about the meeting she wanted to find her brother.

"Okay, tell him I will come." After the words were out of her mouth that's when it stuck to her, like how the sentence seems stupid. The sentence was like she was asking for the death penalty. It was like she was saying, "Kill me now."

It is well known if the alpha called you, you are supposed to go.

If you are summoned you are supposed to leave everything you were doing and run.

It's not like the alphas in any werewolf world were going around sending their betas to call someone from the pack.

It meant the alpha wanted something serious.

The beta was now staring at her surprised, he wasn't questioning himself why in the hell would a grown-up woman run down the stairs, he was rather surprised why would a normal wolf answer him like that.

As if he was supposed to go back to the alpha and say, "Oh, you know what? The wolf you sent me to bring has given me an answer. She said to tell you she is going to come."

The beta wasn't sure whether he was supposed to ask Gal if she was serious or just joking, or maybe wait for Gal to realize what she had said and they will laugh at it and go to meet the alpha.

"I am sorry about that, but will you kindly tell the alpha I will come. I need to find my brother. It's getting late." Gal told him, hoping the beta would tell her it was okay for her to come later.

"Yes, I understand, but it won't take long." The beta said and ask her to follow him.

Cussing herself for not remembering earlier about her brother after even being told by the woman the beta was looking for her.

She wanted to run towards the door and then come back later and apologize, walking down the stairs she was thinking of what she was going to do.

Who was her priority at that moment?

Her brother, or the alpha?
