Chapter 49: Coming Clean
"Are you okay?" Alex asked in concern as she and Birdy stood outside her parents’ house in Long Island.
The two had been standing there ever since their car had driven off a few minutes ago. Birdy's parents had called and insisted that she come down and visit them so that they could talk about all the changes in her life over the last few months. She had figured that this would be the best time to also introduce them to Alex - especially, since they were living together as a couple now.
Birdy sighed and grabbed Alex's hand in her own before giving the model a warm smile. "I'm okay, just a little more nervous than I thought I would be."
Alex gave Birdy a pointed look. "You'd probably be less nervous if you'd given them some kind of warning about us."
Birdy shook her head and bit her lip. "I didn't want to tell them something like that over the phone."
