While Daniel fretted over his career go downhill, Sasha remained cool headed as she made a comment that sounded so offensive to the most influential celebrity in the Soul city.
"So, miss Just Sasha, I am Leonard Callahan," Leonard extended his hand towards Sasha for a handshake, "A nameless actor who has shown not so good looking face in a couple of movies. I don't think I am qualified enough to call myself a writer, but I love writing. I hope you can help me come with a pretty fine literary work,"
Daniel was loss at words as he witnessed the turn of events.
"Is this real?" He was expecting Leonard to lash out on Sasha for agitating, however, despite her senseless behavior, they escaped a huge disaster, thanks to the almighty "Leo" Callahan.
"I am looking forward to working with you,"
"So you are okay to work with someone who does not know anything about you?" Sasha asked with a surprised tone as she shook hands with him.
"It's better that you don't know anything about me," Leonard's lips curled into a warm smile. "Let's meet some other time as an editor and writer,"
"Sure," She replied with a faint smile.
Even though she doesn't want to acknowledge this man..he is her half brother.
Will he treat her the same when he gets to know the truth?
No...no..that's not possible...no one can accept her.
As soon as the thought flashed in Sasha's mind, she retracted her hand from Leonard's palms and glanced at his eyes.
This warmth and friendliness is given to some stranger...not for someone who belongs to the dark past of Selene Callahan.
Sasha left the Callahan family house with a heavy heart whereas Daniel appeared pleased with the arrangement of signing the contract.
As soon as they got into the car, Daniel let out a sigh of relief.
"You really scared me,"
Sasha looked at him as if she didn't know anything.
"Back in there, with Leonard...both of you were on the verge of a fierce argument,"
"When did I argue with him? I was just pointing out the facts and clearing my doubts," Her reply was simple.
"Yes, yes. You are having an exam tomorrow and there will be a question for ten marks with extra points if you add the age of Leonard Callahan," Daniel brushed off as a joke he started the car.
"I was just being curious,"
"Then you should have done a background check on your client before coming for the meeting. That's how professional's work," Daniel said in a chiding tone.
"I apologize for acting without any second thoughts. I know I am not supposed to mix my personal life with work. But there are so many things going with my life right now and I don't feel good at all,"
Sasha said her mind. She was supposed to work hard to make an earning of her own. But the news of Noah contacting her father about marriage was totally distressing for Sasha and it almost wrecked her brain.
"Sasha," Daniel called her in a caring tone as her words reached his ears, "I don't know whether I am overstepping my boundaries, but are you alright Sasha? You know that I consider you as one of my good friends?"
Sasha glanced at the man in the driving seat. To be frank, he is the only person in her life with whom she can have a friendly conversation. Even her doctor whom she believed, backstabbed her with Noah and Sasha was quite reluctant to share any of her stories with someone else.
But Daniel is no longer a stranger, isn't he?
"Some people whom I never wanted to meet in my life, some situations which I never expected, has been occurring to me lately," She recited after a moment of silence. "I was unprepared and i am struggling to get out of the maze which I've been pushed into,"
"What exactly happened in your life?"
"Have you ever heard about this belief that, once your death is near, you will be unknowingly crash into people whom you have been avoiding?"
"No. I haven't,"
"I am going through such an ordeal,"
Hearing her words, Daniel couldn't help but broke into a burst of laughter.
"Seriously Sasha, are you reading some kind of fantasy fiction work?"
Sasha pursed her lips for a moment as she watched Daniel's mocking laughter. She was being serious about her words and how dare he ridicule her?
"This is why I don't like people," She mumbled and tilted her head towards the window.
"Please stop the car here,"
Daniel's laughter stopped as if someone has switched off his emotions.
"Hey, are you leaving because I laughed at your words?"
Sasha let out a sigh and pointed towards her eyes.
"I need to take it off...These lenses started to irritate me,"
"Oh yeah," Daniel immediately pulled over the car to a roadside.
"Thanks," Sasha opened her tote bag and fished out a small mirror.
"Wait a minute, are you going to remove it, right now? right here?"
"Yes," She dried her fingertips in a towel and carefully reached out to remove the contact lens. Within few minutes, she turned back to her original self of amber-eyed beauty.
"I am done,"
However, Daniel who was batting an eyelid didn't hear anything. For a moment, he was left mesmerized by the unique beauty which is bestowed on Sasha by her big feline eyes.
"Dan, let's go," Sasha's compelling words woke him up from a daze.
"Ha," Daniel started the engine and drove off. "So earlier, about what you told me earlier, the unexpected encounters and situations. Can you elaborate it?"
He tried to break the icy silence inside the car.
"Whom did you see?"
"Some people who left me when I needed them the most...some people who were supposed to be with me," She vaguely explained.
"There was a time when, I earned for their presence and one day, out of nowhere, they came back to me and tried to exert their power on me and my life,"
"Is your ex-boyfriend is back in town??" Daniel asked with a straight face.
Sasha almost dropped her jaw when she heard Daniel's assumption.
"Boy friend? Whose boy friend?"
"Your boyfriend. Isn't he is the reason why you rejecting every single man who approached you?" Daniel asked the question which he always wished to ask.
With her beauty and intelligence, Sasha has won many men's hearts including Daniel's. But not even once, Sasha accepted any of them. She was so against the concept of love and marriage.
There was the only reason for her absurd behaviour,
Either, she must be philophobic or in the worst-case scenario, her heart is broken by someone.
Though Daniel wants to believe that Sasha belongs to the first category, for some reason, he always associated Sasha as someone who tasted the bitterness of love and whose heart was broken by someone.
"Do I have a boy friend?" Sasha asked in a mocking tone, "If I consider that devil who appears in my dreams. Then, I do have a boy friend,"
