The Divine Horrors

“The circle of ages turns, and life and death are but passing shadows, for eternity remembers not the living nor the dead.” — Eternis 10:6 Have you ever wondered if Gods really exist or are they just a figment of humanity's imagination for hope? If they really exist and aren't just a figment of our imagination, are they benevolent and merciful, or are they indifferent to our sufferings? Arohan, an atheist despised the concept of religion and Gods because of his parent's death. Yavar!

Yavar was one of the countless worlds in the endless cosmos. It was a large world with a huge population and people from all walks of life.

Many people have always believed that the world was sentient like any other living creature, but only those who reached high levels of power knew that it was true.

Yavar was a mid-tier world in power comparison in the cosmos and its will suddenly trembled in fear. The entire world began to shake, causing a ruckus in the lives of the people on the planet.

Powerful beings rose to the air to find out what was happening, but it only lasted for a moment, and the situation returned to calm.

There were three continents on Yavar: East Earth, South Earth, and Middle Earth.

Any of the three continents were several times larger than the planet Earth. The space was suddenly torn apart in one corner of the South Earth, and a handsome man walked out of it.

The man had a mixture of surprising expressions while there was a transparent red light covering him from his head to his toes.

Who could the man be if not Arohan who entered the gateway upon hearing the verse?

Arohan surprisingly looked around, but the core seemed to have exhausted every bit of the power of the artifact. The red light began to fade and not long after it completely disappeared.

The next moment, heavy pressure attacked Arohan, and he felt his body sinking to the ground. The gravity difference between the two worlds was enormous due to the large size of Yavar.

But suddenly a warm energy rushed through his body and it lightened up the pressure on him. After a few seconds, the gravity became normal for him as if he was still on the earth.

Arohan could now finally focus on his surroundings. He seemed to be near the living area, and he could see the silhouette of a city.

Arohan decided to walk in the direction of the city as the time seemed to be approaching the sunset.

Eh!

Arohan couldn't help but exclaim in surprise when he found out his running speed. He seemed to be quicker than the best athletes on Earth. What was even more surprising was the fact that he didn't seem to lose his breath even after running for more than a minute at the same speed.

Only after running for ten minutes, did he finally begin to feel tired but since he could see the city gates, he decided to keep running.

After a few minutes, he finally reached the gates which were like giants staring down at him. He took repeated deep breaths to calm his pounding heart after the strenuous exercise of running.

Once he had calmed down, he focused on the gate. His height was six feet three inches, but before the gate, he looked like an ant.

The gate also gave him a mixed feeling of mysteriousness and majesty as there were murals drawn on both sides. He didn't know what the creature was on both sides, but as soon as he looked at its eyes, he immediately backed away.

The eyes on the mural moved, and the beast came to life. With a roar, a creature jumped out and stared down at Arohan.

It was a scorpion-like creature with the torso of a lion. It had four human hands, and each carried a different thing.

The upper right hand carried a lamp, while the lower right hand carried a stick. The upper left hand carried a paper, and the lower left hand carried a whip.

"Human, state your identity!"

A rumbling voice rang in Arohan's ears, shaking his eardrums, but he only confusedly looked at the creature. He couldn't understand what it was saying.

At the same time, he was also confused that it was his first time seeing something like it, but he didn't feel afraid of the situation at all.

"Human, state your identity!"

The creature asked once again. It didn't seem to be in a hurry, but that expression changed after a while.

No matter how many times it asked, it would get a garbled answer. It had been standing as the city guard for thousands of years now, but it was its first time hearing such a garbled language.

It didn't speak anymore but pushed the lamp toward Arohan.

The next moment, a green light lit up in the lamp, and an active green flame also appeared in Arohan's eyes.

The green flame in the lamp slowly began to turn red, then dark red and then reached such a state where it was red, but it was so dark that it looked like black.

The creature was shocked at first, then it turned into anger, and in the end, its eyes turned fearful as they looked at the stranger.

It immediately raised its stick to attack, but suddenly, the flame's intensity and color began to change once again. From red to green, and then slowly white.

Its hands froze since it didn't know what to do. The green flame turning into white flame meant that Arohan had no intention of harming the city, while the black flame suggested that he would destroy the city to a point where not even a hint of living would be seen.

Arohan felt a sense of danger for the first time as the creature raised its hand with the stick, but suddenly he felt a strange sensation. Not long after, the creature froze.

Arohan couldn't see the flame in the lamp, so he had no idea what was happening. He was already very confused, and now on top of that, he was also puzzled about the strange sensation that he felt.

As for the creature, it was left with no choice but to wake up the guard on the left gate.

The next moment, it exploded into light particles and merged into the right gate. The mural reappeared on the gate, while from the left gate, a new creature jumped out.

It was a humanoid creature with no hands. Its head was the same size as its upper body, giving it a funny appearance. It only had a single eye, but there were seven pupils in them. The pupils were of the seven colors as the rainbow. Two long fangs protruded from its mouth, resembling a walrus, and it had no nose.

Arohan felt a chill crawling down his body as soon as the creature looked at him.

The next moment, seven beams of light emerged and formed a projection.

The next moment, Arohan looked shocked, as the projection began to play out his life on earth.

'If they find out I am an alien, will they kill me or experiment on me?'

For the first time, a heavy sense of fear engulfed his heart.
