The bracelet

A soft knock interrupted their conversation as Amy entered with snacks and refreshments. Behind her, Austin, a Lycan and the vice president of her company, towed happily as he bowed his head at the sight of his Boss.

Delilah smiled before chuckling as Amy smacked her husband or mate behind his head before smiling and pulling his ears to quickly leave her office without disturbing them.

"I still can't believe that Amy used to be a human."

Acacia chuckled at the way Amy handled her troublesome mate wearing that pure and harmless smile.

"For a human, she can seriously pack a serious punch."

Ethan murmured as he remembered that night when he brought the drunken Delilah to her condominium and Amy saw him, mistaking him as a hooligan before proceeding to punch him without rest.

Eleanor laugh as tears appeared on her eyes. Ethan rolled his eyes before cheekily pinching his half's cheeks.

"So... is everyone going?"

Delilah's voice brought them to the present before nodding.

"Are you going?"

The girls eagerly asked their friend.

"Well... I don't feel like going but... Amelia told me to go. She said she felt something or someone's calling for her."

Delilah sigh as she rubbed her head. The simple black and gold bracelet glitter as it hits the sun's rays. A couple of gasp erupted as Acacia and Eleanor grabbed her left wrist and inspect the beautiful bracelet.

"Where did you buy this? This looks so pretty!"

"Wait, did you made this?"

Delilah smiled before shaking her head. Looking at the bracelet, she could still remember his Amber eyes as he said he would protect her. Although they were kids, she felt a sense of comfort whenever she was around him even though they were both kidnapped and tortured. Along those days, she had forgotten how long they were both captive but with his presence, Delilah didn't feel a sense of fear.

The day they escaped, Delilah couldn't leave without knowing his name. She told her name but he called her Lilah while she called him Rex, already forgotten his original name but not the one she made on the spot.

In the midst of chaos, Rex took a couple of his hair strands and fumbled inside his shirt as his face contorted in pain before showing a beautiful shape of his scale. She didn't know what kind he was and still is now as there were a lot of different kinds, both major and minor.

Gently rubbing the bracelet, she remembered how he poured his power on making the bracelet before putting it on her wrist. He said it would protect her till he finds her. In exchange, Delilah did the same. She pulled a couple of her hair strands and removed her necklace before taking the metal pendant, casting her powers as the magic combined the materials, the outcome was a necklace, similar to a dog tag for a soldier.

The metal pendant had her name engraved to it as a identification for Rex to look for help. She gave him the necklace as he smiled while he did the same thing; engraving the name she gave him on the bracelet. And that was the last she saw as he whispered to not forget him before going on their own way.

"Ooohhh... was it that look all about?"

Delilah chuckled before relaxing her back.

"This bracelet was given to me Rex. He made this from his magic out of his hair strand and scale."

"I can understand magic but scale?"

Eleanor asked with confusion. She grabbed her wrist and inspected the cursive letters on it. Her eyes seems to be glossed by something before grasping out loud and looking at her friends with big eyes.

"Wifey, when you were kidnapped, who was with you on that cell?"

Delilah was confused at Eleanor's sudden question.

Maybe she had forgotten already, it's not like I blame her since it has been that long. Delilah though as she didn't blame her best friend to a forgetful person, not knowing the real reason of Eleanor's vivid reaction.

Delilah slowly recapped her memories as the days of their adventure in that gross prison, from the day they both meet and knew they were kidnapped till the day of their escaped.

"You call him with that name that you made but do you remember his full name?"

"Hmm... well... It was kinda long and I was tired of memorizing those long names as my aunt tortured me of knowing the nobles names so I just called him the name that I found easy to remember."

"Which is...."

"....Rex. He said his name was something along Rex and something something...honestly I was too lazy to remember his long name so I just called him Rex. He didn't took offence when I call him that instead he was fine with it."

"Oh... My... Goddess..."

Acacia frowned at Eleanor's expression as the two men look at each other before directing their questioning gaze to Eleanor.

The latter couldn't explain what she had found and just waved her hands to her friends as they huddled around her.

"All of you, except for Delly, come and take a look but don't touch the bracelet."

All three of them followed and minutes later, their eyes widen in shock at the revelation they had found. All of them simultaneously glance at their friends with questions on their eyes.

Delilah doesn't know what did they find on her bracelet. Bringing her wrist closed to her face, she couldn't notice something different except the chain that changed from silver to black and gold. Other than that, there was nothing amiss to it.

"Why are all of you acting so weird?"

"Delly, this may sound weird but bear with me okay?"

Acacia carefully asked as Delilah nodded her head.

"Did the kid told you what kind he is?"

"He mentioned that he was part of the strongest kinds. I asked if he was a werewolf and he denied as well as being a vampire. I listed the species on what I know but he only said I would find out when I became an adult. But until now, I still don't know what he is."

"Do you remember what he looked back then?"

Delilah didn't have to rummaged her brain to tell them what he looked like as his appearance was deeply imbedded on her mind.
