CHAPTER 30: SONGS OF DEATH: INTRODUCTION

As soon as Caitlyn Chambers steps onto the stage, everyone in the room turns their attention to her. Some are whispering to each other, wondering what kind of drugs she's taking to maintain her stunning appearance. Her skin is clear and free of any blemishes, her nose is pointed, and her makeup is so skillfully applied that it can make a man lose control.

"Good evening everyone, this is Ca—" but then, her words were cut off as soon as the lights went out, not only in the gymnasium, but around the whole campus as well. It was dark everywhere with no at least one light visible, people started to open their phones but they couldn't open them no matter what they did, at this point, they started to feel anxious.

"What was happening..?!"

"I can't see anything.."

As the anxious voices around her grew louder, Elyze couldn't help but smirk in satisfaction. Clearly, she was the mastermind behind this whole debacle, and she had already prepared everything in advance - she had even removed her masquerade mask so she could watch the show she had planned for the guests.

"it starting.." she whispered,

On the other hand, Damion calmly analyzed

The situation they were in before they spoke. "Whatever you do, don't leave your seat."

When the president's voice was heard, the class zero replied "yes" or "got it" to him. Shortly after, the headmistress's voice was heard speaking on a microphone.

"Dear guests, please be patient, we will address this situation as soon as possible—"

All of them were surprised when their phones started to open without them touching anything. Pictures started appearing on each of their phones, and they gasped and looked at Caitlyn.

"I-Isn't this.. caitlyn chambers?!"

"what the..?! as in the queen of roses?!

"this scandal.. isn't this too much?"

At the surprise of everyone on stage, a holographic screen suddenly appeared out of nowhere, displaying a scene from the video in which aria is being harassed by Caitlyn herself.

[you probably thinking right now that she will going to help you, too bad! haha!]

[I really don't understand why did you even become damion's sister! oh, right, must be a connection huh?!]

then another student spoke up, "Isn't that damion's youngest sister?! aria del luna?!"

Caitlyn, who lost her face, couldn't hide her surprise when her face was being played with. In the corner of the gymnasium, Aria watched the video and clenched her fist, her hands began to shake. She glances anxiously at Chrysasthomus next to her.

"Chrys.. I.."

[don't bully her so much, guys, there will be no toy if that happens.]

Damion stared at Caitlyn coldly and she shivered.

"No! That.. T-that.."

She couldn't speak or defend herself, so she looked at Fynn's direction with a hopeful look. But just as he saw her, he looked away, his gaze fixed on his cellphone. She watched his surroundings, and everyone looked at her with distaste.

What are they doing? Why are they staring at me? that's what she thought right now.

[Don't look at me with your disgusting face! you, a commoner, who done nothing but to clutch at your father and brother's tail, looking to someone, who's high as almighty as me?! Inconceivable!]

When Chrysastomus heard those words, he quickly reacted. The wine glass he was holding broke into pieces, so the other students around them started to move away.

"Chrys... please... don't..."

"Aria... why didn't you tell me...?" he asked calmly, but she knows Chrysastomus can now rush onto the stage and kill Caitlyn whenever he chooses.

Not only was he affected, but so was Damion, who was starting to lose his composure due to the people around him.

Chauncey noticed this, so he couldn't help but to feel worried about him, and at the same time felt outrage at the person who leaked these videos. He didn't know that the person behind this incident was just calmly watching them getting agitated to each other on her seat while playing the wine glass on her hands.

With a serious look on her face, she glanced at her phone, which was sitting on the table where pictures of Caitlyn, such as her having an affair with other men, were visible.

"But... that's not my order, is it?" She raised her eyebrows and muttered in a low voice, but she didn't care about it for a second, and shifted her gaze to the front.

Caitlyn was still standing there, still wearing her shocked face, 'this can't be happening..!' she thought while looking around. "This is not... this is not me! Someone manipulated the video! THIS IS NOT ME!" she shouted while holding her head, telling to herself that it's not his fault.

What a disgrace!

Is this really Caitlyn Chambers?

"It's not what I imagined..."

While the headmistress was trying to calm down the anxious people, an instructor went to her and said something. "Ms. amara, we can't remove them nor switch the lights! someone was interfering with our security system, every time we're trying to delete this files, someone was blocking us. The only way to remove this is to find the person who's behind these commotions." Miss amara couldn't help but to click her tongue and started to think who's the Initiator of this incident.

Whoever this person is, they may be watching us right now, sipping wine and contemplating their motives. But the question is, what could be their motive?

"this is not my fault.. s-someone manipulated the video.. shut up.." Caitlyn's appearance now reminded her of inmates from an asylum; her tears had already ruined her makeup, and her hair was a mess. At the same time, she couldn't help but think back to her younger years.

actually, caitlyn was just an average girl when she's still a child, she's not that beautiful, rather, she often get bullied by her classmates because of her looks. the only thing she can be proud of was her intelligence and wealth. due to that, she uses her family's wealth to do a plastic surgery which was the thing she wanted to hide from the others the most or else, that would be the end of her parents career, where they both working from the entertainment industry and a member of a secret organization.

Due to her upbringing, she lacked love and attention from her parents, who only cared about their status and title. When she had plastic surgery and turned into a beautiful woman, she began to flirt with many men and have one-night stands with them. As the time went on, it became her hobby. She then attended P.N Academy and met Fynn Clemency. She seduced him for the sake of connection, but she soon realized that she had fallen for him.

It is true that Finn cared for Caitlyn for four years, and they had already done things like husband and wife do. However, this does not mean that he loves her. Because he knew from the start that Caitlyn was only playing with him, Finn never interfered with her own life. He pretended like he didn't know anything.

However, his reaction earlier after seeing Caitlyn's scandal was genuine. He did feel pain on his heart, perhaps because part of him hoped that, his assumption towards her wasn't true, that Caitlyn did love her with all her heart but... that was not the case.

Finn sighed when he saw the scene. He had thought he would find someone who would love him deeply, but it turns out she's just like the others. It's a waste. Rufus, who was nearby, smiled.

"What are you going to do with her then?"

Fynn stares at her for a few minutes, but soon after he answers seriously. "We have to kill her."

Caitlyn Chambers ran away from the angry crowd as they started to insult her. They said she was an embarrassment to her family and she should never have been born. Caitlyn's hands were shaking as she ran towards the back door of the gymnasium. Meanwhile, Devian smiled slyly as his eyes turned red with bloodlust as he watched Caitlyn flee.

"This is indeed a wonderful show I have watched… Fear, guilt, deceit, love, etc., her emotions were mingling together and forming a soul equal to the one I want… seriously… elyze really knows me well." He commented, but at the same time, he couldn't help but sigh as well.

"Unfortunately, I can't kill her myself. After all, someone else will do that for me."

But then again, Elyze noticed Chauncey leaving on his place, and since the gymnasium were still dark, no one saw him leaving, furthermore, the class Zero were so busy wondering what could've happened and Damion was still trying to recover in shock.

However, Devian didn't know that Chauncey had been watching him since then, and when he saw his smirking face, that's when he started to be suspicious of him, so when Devian followed Fynn and Rufus, Chauncey pursued him discreetly.

When Elyze looks at the time, it is already 6:55 PM, which means there is still five minutes before the bomb that they placed around the gymnasium will explode. So she just simply sneers and stands up from her seat.

She deliberately walked towards the gymnasium entrance without any of her classmates noticing, except for Damion. He noticed her, and frowned.

"Elyze?... where is she going?" he asked himself, his body moving on its own and following her.

The sky was dark and filled with ominous clouds. It was a bleak day, and all of the animals were feeling nervous.

By the time Elyze reaches the outside of the gymnasium, the whole place is still in darkness. Only the lights from her smartphone can be seen, so she stands up and lifts her phone to avoid Damion from suspecting her.

"… should I take a few more steps?" she asked herself, pretending that she's finding some way to remove all those pictures that had been leak.

Seeing this scene, Damion frowned again, "So that's how it was..?"

He was about to leave when he noticed the red dots on the top of the gymnasium door. He calmly analyzed the situation, and looked around in every corner of the gymnasium and buildings. He even looked at the sky, although it was so dark. Finally, he saw the man wearing a masquerade mask. The man clicked his tongue, and pressed a remote control. All the bombs that were in the gymnasium exploded one after another.

Booogssh, booggsshhh boogsshh!

Even Elyze wasn't expecting the sudden explosion, although it wasn't time yet as she slowly looked up at the falling bricks coming off the walls of the gymnasium, when Damion saw Elyze standing in front he rushed over to her and hugged her them tight as they started rolling into the side.

After a few minutes, Damion immediately opens his eyes and looks at Elyze with a worried face,

"Are you okay, Elyzee?!"

On one hand, the mysterious man from the fourth floor just smacked his forehead lightly with his hand, as though he regretted pressing the button.

And then, from behind him, a weary voice spoke up. When he removed his disguise, it revealed Rohan's face looking pitifully to the person in front of him.

"You will surely be dead, brother."

"Don't scare me, damn it! That Damion almost saw my face! I have no other choice!"

It was actually the twins, rheyne and rohan Morgan.

"well.. ok, it's already happened, the guests at the gymnasium must be worried right now." Rohan glanced at the gym, the entrance was littered with rocks and bricks from the bombs, even the remaining doors leading inside were also littered. smoke is visible, the voices of guests full of anxiety and their cries are especially audible. Rohan just closes his eyes and grins.

"What a bunch of cowards, it makes me want to slaughter them." he whispered, Rheyne felt a shudder so he just avoided looking at him.

"Don't do unnecessary things that might interfere with the Elyze plan." he added before putting his hands on the back of his head, "besides, you don't need to dirtied his hands just for them, let them slaughter each other." He giggled and turned around.

"our work is already done here, let's go back."

Rohan just raised his eyebrows and put his hands on his pocket. "Brother, Elyze told us not to go back yet, remember?"

"hmm..What should we do now?"

"Let's see how this turns out."

"Woah! great idea! as expected from my crazy brother!"

"I'm not crazy.."

elyze was shocked as soon as she found himself at the bottom of damion, he still wearing his worried look while looking straightly to elyze gray eyes. they stared to each other's face, but after a few minutes, damion's worried complexion turns into a smirk as he stand up and leave at crystalle's top before laid his hands Infront of her. she grabbed it without any hesitation as she glance seriously at the fallen stones that blocks the gymnasium doors Infront.

'that damn rheyne..' she thought and keep cursing him from his mind.

"this is bad, there are lots of guests inside the gymnasium, who would dare to do this.." she pretended like she have no idea while looking at the debris from the fallen walls.

"the cellphone is useless either." damion said, while looking at his mobile phone filled with caitlyn's scandal photos. he tried to fiddled it but no matter what he do, it can't remove it at all.

"at this point, all we had to do is to went at security room and turned off the security system or find the person who cause this commotion and kill him/her." he added once more, he didn't know that the person he's talking about was just beside him, watching him falling into dilemma.

"but I think that's not easy.. the initiator probably hiding somewhere, it can be inside of the gymnasium or in our surroundings, how should we find him/her? so that only leaves us no choice."

"it still risky but like you said, we have no choice, if we turned off the security system, the instigator might escape. rather.. he/she may be planned this beforehand, how shrewd." damion let out a sigh. and when elyze saw this scene, she couldn't help but to laugh inwardly.

'as expected of him, however.. you might disappoint yourself if we go there... after all, to remove this photos, you need rohan's help.' she thought amusingly.

"let's go then." damion then nods at elyze as they started to run towards the security room that was situated at second building.
