CHAPTER 25: SECOND SON

as the sun rise up, you will already see the people helping the student council fixing the venue for the 'dark banquet' that will held later in the evening, they were all busy, at the same time, feeling excited because the welcoming party that they've been waiting for was just around in the corner, and of course, not only the other section were present but even the class zero as well.

inside of the campus hall, you will see damion and chauncey holding some papers while commanding the other members of the student council on what are the jobs that they have to do, they are the one who arranging the venue as well as fixing and checking if there is something missing or if there is something that they have to add to make party becomes intriguing to audiences, in other words, they are the moderators of the party.

"hey! that table 15 should be on the side! do your job properly!"

"I-I'm sorry Mr. steinhart!"

"the table 25 should be on the center! faster!"

"g-got it mr. vice president!"

"hey you there on the platform?! what class are you in?! don't just slack off! damn it!"

"you as well! all you just have to do is to place that red couch on the platform! can't you do it properly?! are you dumb?!"

"f-forgive me.."

the corner of damion's lips just twitch so he just nudge the bridge of his eyeglasses, Chauncey has been yelling and shouting like that ever since in the morning so the other students couldn't help but to feel afraid because of him, so he just let out a long sigh.

"hey, don't shouted at them." he said in calm tone but Chauncey just give him a glare.

"Huh?! you expect me to calm in times like this?! since when did you become an idiot mr. president?! you wake up me up exactly four A.M in the morning and now you're telling me to don't yell at them?! I'm so bad mood right now that I even want to ripped someone apart if not only because he's the son of the owner of this council, I mean, like, really! can't I just kill him?!"

for the second time, damion nudge his eyeglasses once again As he give chauncey a cold gaze even though he's smiling at him, he stop blabbing when he felt a dark aura surrounded him and when he look at damion, his face went pale.

"I-I'm just kidding..?"

"you surely have a nerve to shout at me, huh?"

"i-it's just a joke, ok?! spare me damion!"

"Do your job properly, you son of a bitch!"

"yaaaahh!"

and thus, everyone who was inside of the gymnasium pretended that they didn't see anything and they just keep doing the job they were assigned to, without glancing to them. it takes fifteen minutes before they calm down, and damion, on the one hand just remove his silver-rimmed eyeglasses and wipe it out using his clean white handkerchief, meanwhile, Chauncey who was lying on the ground with a bruises on his face couldn't help but to gazed above as though he just catch a glimpse on the god of death.

"sigh. take care of the rest here, I'll have to check the others."

".. understand, master."

"want another beat?" when damion said those words, Chauncey suddenly went up and clap his hands with a smile on his face and pretend as if he didn't hear anything.

"Now then~ let's go back to our work! if we finished this within 2 hours, I'll treat you all with breakfast! who wants steak, guys?!"

"as expected to our vice president!"

for the third time, damion sigh again before leaving on the campus gymnasium.

"such a carefree guy."

while the students are busy helping the others to prepare for the party that will held later, elyze, who was wearing a simple white casual dress that reaches on her knee with her ash-gray wavy was tied in french twist. she was standing Infront of the lonely panther journalism club, along with devian who was beside him, looking elegant because of his white polo T-shirt and jeans.

they both enter inside, and when the members of the club saw them, they couldn't help but to frowned, elyze went on the counter before ask the lady who was guarding there.

"I would like to meet Mr. moran." she said formally, the girl immediately stand up when she notice devian beside elyze, crossing his arms elegantly. not just them, but as well as the other girls inside, so the lady in the counter avoid her gaze.

"I-I will lead you to him."

elyze just nod as they started to follow the girl, meanwhile, devian just keep pouting inwardly and you can see on his expression that he's feeling bored, however, he doesn't have any choice, elyze dragged him when he's busy drinking in the bar earlier, as much as he wanted to defy her, he couldn't do it or else he will get a punishment from her instead.

"but I still couldn't understand though, why do you want to see edwin?" he cover his mouth and yawned before put his right hand on his pocket.

"there's something I want him to do for me, it is part of my plan." elyze said in soft tone while there's a smirk on her pinkish lips, hearing her reply, devian didn't ask elyze anymore, since he would learn it anyway, so he just sigh. they went upstairs where edwin's office is as they reach Infront of the editor's room.

"Mr. edwin, someone wants to see you." the lady knock at the door, until, a few minutes later, they heard a monotone voice.

'Come in.' the girl then open the door, and there they saw the man in blonde hair and green eyes, sitting on the swivel chair while wearing a uniform, beside him was a young man that have a black hair, with a blue narrow eyes and holding some papers, there's a silver panther badge on his uniform, sign that this guy was working with him. edwin gasp as soon as he saw devian and elyze enter inside and close the door.

"what do you want again?" he asked in smirking manner, so they just sat on modern sofa as elyze cross her legs.

"that's quite rude of you, mr. moran, weren't you going to give us a tea, atleast?" elyze smile to him, so edwin just shrugged his shoulder before glance at the young man.

"bring us a tea."

"got it, mr. moran."

thus, the young man walk in the door and leave, on the other hand, devian glance to that man and frowned when he saw him smirk, he was supposed to whisper to elyze when she speak.

"Is that your new secretary? what happened to that girl, let see, her name was Marianne jones, was it?" elyze pretended that she doesn't know anything, so edwin just grin at her.

"who knows.. she was killed by someone last week, if I'm not mistaken, it is after I met you in the angelical flower garden, quite a coincidence, eh?" he replied with a hint of sarcasm on his voice, so elyze just laugh silently.

"you should atleast be thankful though, if you let that girl live, she probably report our conversation to damion."

edwin squinted his green eyes to her and said meaningfully.. "..Indeed, I'm really thankful, but at the same time.. I couldn't help to wonder, how did you manage to order those twins to do your own biddings? it's very unusual for them to follow someone else's command."

then, again, elyze replied seriously, "Who knows.. they took liking of me, I guess?"

a huge silence enveloped them, and before the atmosphere becomes heavy, elyze decided to smile and change their conversation, "What's the name of your new secretary? you sure that he's not some kind of spy, right?"

he close his eyes and shrugged his shoulder, "his name is claude Sutcliffe a student from B-class 1. and rest assured, before I hire him, I already check his information weather if it's fake or not, so he can be trusted."

when elyze saw his confident expression, she just grinned at edwin, "If you say so, I will trust you." she replied meaningfully as though she wanted to hint something.

once again, although she was still a mystery to him up until this point, edwin, who was sitting in the swivel chair, couldn't help but feel uneasy because of her. He had previously attempted to find more about her but had been futile. He did everything he could think of, even hacking the GRO, but he really couldn't uncover anything, leading him to believe that elyze is probably using a false identity.

a few minutes of silence, the door opened and there they saw claude holding a tray with a teapot and three porcelain teacup, he place it on the table, so edwin stand up on his swivel chair and sat Infront of them, while claude on his side.

"let's move on to business.. what do you want this time?"

Elyze gave out another sneer as she set her phone on the table and poured the tea before sipping it. edwin curiously took her phone and opened it. His eyes widened when he saw a video of four females, led by Caitlyn Chambers, beating Aria in the women's restroom.

[I really don't understand why did you even become damion's sister! oh, right, must be a connection huh?!]

[don't bully her so much, guys, there will be no toy if that happens.]

[Don't look at me with your disgusting face! you, a commoner, who done nothing but to clutch at your father and brother's tail, looking to someone, who's high as almighty as me?! Inconceivable!]

by the time the video was finished, edwin just place her phone on the table, he then give him a serious glance when he already realize what elyze trying to do.

"You.. You're not planning to tell me to leak this video, right?" he asked, hoping that elyze would say 'of course not.' but when edwin saw him smirk, his hope shattered.

"As expected, Mr. edwin. that's right, I want you to leak this video later in the banquet. with this, caitlyn chambers probability to become the next secretary of the academy will went down and thus, fynn clemency's faction have a chance to lose some supporters as well.

imagine, what do you think would happen if other organizations from around the world learned that one of the black butterfly organization's future leaders was being humiliated in this way by a pair of weak, insignificant girls? naturally, the organization won't tolerate this kind of behavior as Aria was from a prominent family and the daughter of the school's founder; therefore, Damion will look for Caitlyn, her entire family, and anybody else who was associated with her.

and this kind of incident will damage Fynn Clemency since he was vying to be the next president in this year's election. Therefore, he will undoubtedly be the one to assassinate Caitlyn Chambers before the organization kills her for the sake of reputation. and after that, he's going to use you to fabricate news and claim he had nothing to do with Caitlyn Chambers. Since their relationship has yet to be made in public, most people are likely to believe him when this happens. If that occurs, he will be saved, but he may lose some supporters. However, at this point, he has already lost, so Damion is the only one we need to worry about." when edwin heard her plan, he started to feel nervous so he just clasped his hands together while looking at the cellphone Infront of him. 'this is too tempting!' he thought once again, when crystalle notice his expression full of confusion, her gray eyes went cold.

"unless, you are hesitating since you've been friends with Rufus and fynn, which is why you're contemplating weather to leak this or not." seeing him changes his expression was already enough for elyze to know what's on his mind, so she just smile simply to her and take another sips of coffee.

"don't worry, if they asked you who leak this video, you can tell the truth to them."

edwin just gasps after hearing elyze orders, so he asked her, "what are you planning to do?"

but then again, elyze just grinned as she finished her tea and stand up and take her phone, "Who knows.. just do what I say. I told you, I always have a plan. By the time Caitlyn Chambers turned a blind eye to me during that time when they were busy harassing Aria, Fynn Clemency had already lost the game. All we just had to do was to wait for the election and observe from the shadows." that was her last words before they reach Infront of the the door and went outside.

by the time the door closed, edwin just smile bitterly, "If only that would be easy.. they have rufus on their side you know." he whispered while sighing, he then took his cup and sip it again.

"seriously, where did she get those confidence anyway?"

outside of the editor's office, devian couldn't help but to massage his temple as the corner of his lips twitched.

devian soon to realize what was she plotting to, once edwin reveals Elyze's identity to them, Fynn would probably assume that she was collaborating with Devian since he was also running for secretary. If that occurs, all of their focus will be on Devian and they would be cautious of him, leaving Elyze in the shadows without realizing that she was the one who was really in responsible of everything.

"My lady.. you're a shrewd one aren't you?"

elyze just cross her arms and smile, "what are you talking about?" and pretended as if she didn't know anything, so devian just shook his head again.

"nevermind. nonetheless, aside from fynn, we have another problematic guy who was on their side, rufus marshall, how are you going to deal with him?"

even though devian just met him once, the ominous atmosphere he was showing that moment was already enough for him to know that he's a sly and shrewd guy who will do anything what it takes just to obtain what he wants. owing to his lack of trust when it comes to people, devian become sensitive and vigilant about his surroundings, one wrong move, and it'll be his opponent's downfall.

"rufus marshall.. huh? lets not.. bother him for awhile."

her words shocked devian, he didn't anticipate that Elyze would let go of him despite the fact that she is aware that rufus may one day pose a threat to them. Elyze decided that doing this is the best course of action for the time being. Similar to how she initially felt when she met Zepphyr and Jotaro, she was apprehensive when she first saw Rufus. Since she frequently followed her gut in situations like this, she chose to believe that he shouldn't bother with him for now.

when they reach outside of club, they walk on the hallways together and decided to go back in the gymnasium to help the others, devian just look at crystalle and when he remembers that there is something he wanted to say to her, he spoke.

"I almost forgot my lady, regarding the group called 'the revolutionaries' that you wanted me to investigate, I got some information about them." that caught elyze attention so he crossed her arms and glance at devian.

"spit it out."

"right, they actually uses the surname of famous french revolutionaries as their codenames such as brissot, robespierre, Antoinette, Lafayette, Calonne and Sieyès, except one. of all members they have, this one is differs to them, instead, it only uses the codename that is very familiar to students, 'twilight', the supreme 6 of P.N academy."

the last part didn't surprise elyze anymore since she already knew it from damion, and when devian notice his poker face expression, he frowned.

"you seems not shock."

"well, damion told some small information about this mysterious organization to me so I already know that this 'twilight' is part of their group but.. the infos about them using the surname of famous french revolutionaries wasn't. nevertheless, he also said that this guy might be using the codename of supreme 6, so I want you to look at it, let see, if I'm not mistaken.. the supreme 6 might be rheyne, so you should ask him."

when devian heard damion's name, he squinted his eyes on her, ".. he did?"

regardless, elyze didn't replied on him, instead she just keep walking on the hallways when someone bump on her, causes them to fall together as a dozens of books flew around them, elyze shook her head so devian immediately help her stand up as he look at the person who bump elyze.

"hey, watch were you going." he said simply as the person who accidentally bump elyze raise his head and there they saw a man with cute handsome face and blue eyes with light brown hair, so he just bow to them.

"I-I'm sorry!" he said before started to pick all the books that scatter on the ground, meanwhile, elyze just shake off her dress and sigh inwardly, soon after, as she was about to leave, she notice the books that scattered on the floor, however one thing that makes elyze frowned was that it's only related to psychology and history, this guy must be an avid reader of social science, that's what elyze thought.

suddenly, something caught her attention, it is about the history of french revolution, so elyze take the book that was on the ground and read it's title.

'the ancient régime by alexis de Tocqueville'

a few minutes later, elyze help the young man to pick up the remaining books that scattered on the ground, by the time he stand up, crystalle give the books on him with a smile.

"you must be a fan of social science huh?" she said to the young man, so he just stare at her awkwardly.

"well.. kind of. I'm enjoying studying human behavior as well as studying the history of our world." he smile sweetly while looking at the books he was holding.

"is that so..? then does that mean you love observing people?" the young man then froze to his place, he still smiling to her at the same time staring at her with a calculative gaze, soon after, he just scratch his cheek and pretend like he didn't understand what elyze meant to say.

"M-maybe? do psychologists and historian loves observing people?" he asked in curiosity, elyze just glance at him with poker face expression but a few seconds later she shook her head.

"I guess. then, sorry for bumping you." she was about to leave when the man call him again.

"E-ermm.. Can I know your name miss?" when elyze look back, he saw the young man's face full of curiosity so sigh once again and replied,

"Elyze.. Elyze moriarty. be careful on your way, Mr. Chrysastomus."

with that, they started to keep walking in the hallways as they reach on the elevator and enters there, on the hand, the man named chrysastomus scowl to them but soon after he just shake his head and keep walking as well in opposite way.

"what the hell is wrong with that girl? she have an angelic beauty, but her aura was similar to a devil."

talking his self, a small smile curve on his pinkish lips and added, "Well nevermind.. elyze moriarty of class-zero huh?"

a few minutes later, by the time he reaches on the Library, he place all the books in the table and wipe his sweat using his wrist, and when he lift it, a bronze name tag that was pinned at his right chest can be seen, there you will see his name carve on it as well as his section.
