The Demon's Hidden Treasures

“I didn’t want this Izan, this is all your fault” she said looking away from the mirror to look away from him. “I know but I need you and you agreed to this, so it’s not my fault after all” he said forcing her face to look back at her. “I did not, you coerced me into this so don’t you turn this on me, now please let’s get on with what is necessary” “I am not sleeping with you, sex is intimate and sacred” she said standing to walk away from him. I Don't Know!

Everything you do is a blessing.

How did a castle that large and beautiful lack staff. Why were the people butler brought in as new staff staring at her as if she'd grown an extra eye or a mole.

"So as the butler said, you shall resume your duties as before King Izan told you to go away" she said breaking the silence after the butler finished talking to them about their duties.

They knew their duties, they had been working in the castle before so their roles were already explained and with that some of them scoffed.

"What is so funny?" the butler asked his voice laced with anger.

No one spoke but they all glared at him like he had angered them in the worst way possible.

None of them understood authority that they had the nerve to scoff however they felt liked.

"Nothing," a gruff tall and built man said with a sneer. The confidence but anyways. She was hungry and she needed food as soon as possible so she did what she knew best. Give orders.

"I need food, can you do that?" she glanced at the one's who supposed to be the cooks.

The four pair of ladies nodded with small smiles on their faces. Only one of them didn't smile and looked at her warily.

The Butler led them away and she went in search of Izan.

Her legs naturally led her to the west wing of the castle. The place was desolate but somewhere inside of her she knew that he was around somewhere.

She opened doors to the rooms in the palace as if she were on some exploration spree, which she wasn't.

The furniture in the rooms was covered with white cloth. Everything was covered including the mirrors. Some of the rooms were locked and when she touched the handles of the rooms it was as if an invincible force was pushing her to walk in and uncover the items inside.

The room at the end of the hall was bright. All blue and pink colours. Nothing was covered with white cloth, all the beauty was let out to bask in the setting sun.

It looked like someone was still living in the room. The curtains were drawn and fresh air filled the already fresh room. Even there were flowers in a vase with clean water.

It looked like a child's room especially due to the presence of dolls at the corner of the room.

She walked to the balcony and that's when she finally saw him leaning against the stone wall of the balcony.

The view of the city that he was supposed to be the King of was down there. Beautiful city, it was.

"What are you doing here?" he asked his tone cold. His skin was pale just like when she found him in the room or tomb or whatever that was for him.

He almost looked white but with the setting sun at their vantage position, his skin took a golden hue.

"I was looking for you" she replied and leaned on the stone wall but faced the room instead of the city.

"Why? Do you need anything from me?"

Was he angry or something or was he just moody.

"No I wanted to see Haelyn, I need to see how her condition is"

"She's okay, I don't think she needs you at this time of healing" she turned to look at him and read his features but he was looking on the other side. On purpose, avoiding her.

"That's for her to decide and not you, so where is she?"

He looked down closing his eyes and clenching them tight as if lost, he looked lost and she almost felt sorry but she needed to know.

"I don't know"

Wait!

"What do you mean you don't know?"

"I don't know where she is honestly, I was not the one who saved you" he answered walking back into the room.

"Who did?" she followed him.

"The butler"

"What? That butler? and so where is Haelyn?"

"As I said, I don't know, he only managed to save you"

So where was Haelyn?

She needed to save her soon, what if she was suffering under Rico's care. Now she understood why Izan was unable to explain how he saved them and where they were.

"Well, he needs to manage to save her then since she's not safe where she is"

"I know but we have to wait for a while before that"

"Why?"

"Because she's here"

"Who?"
