Rachel's Story Continued

The wonderful view from the balcony helped to take me to a peaceful place within, I never realized I was there for so long and even forgot Philip was around for a while, so I made my way back to the parlour to meet him and was I surprised to see my siblings there too.

“When did you guys get here?” I asked.

“We’ve been here for a while. You mean you didn’t know when we came?” asked my brother.

They all looked happy like they were about to drop good news that would make me happy as well, if only it could. I found an empty couch and sat down and tried to let out a smile to ease myself of the many burdens of the day.

“Tell me why you all look happy. I can’t be the only one left out of whatever it is,” I said.

We stared at each other without a word and their smiles became broader, the happiness became so obvious. They were determined to put me in suspense for a little longer and I was willing to wait.
