Bab 10 The Confusion

888 pacing since morning made 444 feel uncomfortable and uncomfortable. "Hyaa...888 can't you stay still? Do you have to walk back and forth like that until this afternoon? We have to get going."

"Will she hate me? Yesterday we took her aunt. This time her mother. How will Hyun feel? She will lose her mother. Will Eun take care of her later?" 444 frowned.

When he arrived at Hyun Jae's yard, Kim Min Jae was seen cleaning the yard. Not long after, Hyun Jae came out of the house cheerfully carrying her school bag and lunch.

"Aunt Eun made me a lot of food today, Mom," Hyun Jae reports to her mother with a cheerful smile. Kim turned and smiled at Hyun Jae.

"Then you should finish your lunch. Remember, don't fight with your school friends," Kim Min Jae ordered. Hyun nodded, she kissed her mother's cheek and walked cheerfully.

888 quickly pulled 444's hand to hide from Hyun Jae's sight. Of course it made 444 shocked and hurt.

"Kyaa, it hurts!" nagging 444 annoyed. 888 just signaled 444 to be quiet. He didn't want Hyun to see the both of them coming. Not long after, when Kim Min Jae and Eun Tak came out and left for work, the both of them followed Kim Min Jae.

"Kya, 888 why is your face so sad? During our duty this is the first time I've seen you confused like this," commented 444.

"I don't know, I feel hurt here," 888 replied, pointing to his chest. 444 shook his head.

"You are nothing. But, do you really see Kim's future with Hyun Jae?"

"Hmm...that's why I was surprised. Kim Min Jae's name is clearly written here. And this is all appropriate. But, why?"

"Did you see it wrong? Maybe the vision of the future was wrong," said 444.

888 shook his head. "I can't be wrong. If you don't believe me you just hold her hand. Then you tell me what you saw."

"How can I hold it in this way?!"

"Take off your pin and act like a normal human. You've met her before. She'll recognize you because you've met her on the bus." 444 scratched his head which suddenly felt itchy. He was really curious. 444 pay attention to his surroundings, lest anyone notice his sudden presence. Feeling safe, 444 immediately removed the pin. Then he walked quickly towards Kim, pretending to hit her until Kim's belongings fell.

"Sorry ma'am. I was in a hurry, so I accidentally bumped into you," 444 said as he crouched down and helped Kim pick up her fallen things.

"It's okay. Ah, aren't you Chin Hae? Kim Young Joo's brother? We met on the bus the other day," Kim said with a smile. 444 immediately reached out her hand which was immediately welcomed by Kim warmly.

For a moment he saw something, he was surprised, but he quickly mastered the situation. He immediately let go of his hands.

"I'm sorry again, Mrs. Kim," he said, bowing. Kim and Eun Tak just smiled.

"I'll say goodbye first, madam, sorry," said 444 as he hurriedly got out of there and walked quickly to a place that was a little quiet. Then put the pin back on and went back to where 888 was standing staring at him.

"How? What did you see?" ask 888 to know. 444 looked at 888 a little doubtfully, but in the end... I saw her taking a picture with Hyun Jae and Eun Tak. It looks like Hyun Jae has just been appointed as a sergeant in the police force. She is wearing a police uniform and also her rank insignia.

"How did she escape death then?"

He sighed, actually he saw something else in Kim Min Jae's future picture. However, he chose to remain silent and kept it a secret from 888. 888 opened the black envelope under his shirt. He opened it and read its contents. Kim Min Jae's name was still recorded on the paper. He sighed slowly. And shrugged his shoulders. Then back walking with 444 following Kim Min Jae. As usual, Kim Min Jae and Eun Tak parted ways in the downstairs lobby. They work in the same bank. However, they are in different divisions. So they work on different floors and rooms. As usual, tasks 888 and 444 must follow the soul to be summoned closely. Usually a week or 2 days before death they have to accompany the souls. Meanwhile Hyun feels restless during the lesson. She doesn't know why it feels so bad. Even though this morning she was so happy to go to school. During lunch time, as usual Hyun brought her food to the park. She feels more comfortable eating in the garden than in class.

"Kyaa, Aunt Yee why did you startle me," Hyun grumbled. When she lifted her face Yee Soo looked close to her face, making the girl startled. Yee Soo just laughed out loud looking at Hyun Jae who was pale with surprise.

"Auntie, what if my heart falls out?" she grumbled.

"Death is still far from you. The proof is that there is no grim reaper around you. But... yesterday, I saw the grim reaper with you. And, he was human. What's wrong? Why are you friends with him?" Yee Soo asked as she plopped onto the park bench beside Hyun Jae.

"A while ago, he was going to pick up my aunt. But, I failed him. And, it's not the first time I've failed his task of picking up souls. Previously I also helped someone escape death. And, he was angry with me. For some reason he now wants to be friends with me. I also feel surprised.. Could it be because I have an agreement with him huh?" Yee Soo shuddered in horror.

"You made a pact with the grim reaper? Do you know who he is?" Hyun Jae shook her head. "Every grim reaper must have a number. He is 888 meaning he is the strongest and the wickedest grim reaper. Unlike the other grim reapers, 888 has many privileges that the king of the heavens bestows. So, you should stay away from him. I'm afraid you will get into trouble. later."
