Chapter 53: Unscientific

"This way, this way!" Lee Jordan waved at the twins as they entered the Great Hall. "You finally decided to show up."

"Why is everyone here?" George sat down next to Lee Jordan and greeted the others.

"Isn't that obvious?" Lee Jordan couldn't help but roll his eyes at the twins. "It's dinnertime. Where else would we be?"

"True. Pass the jam, please. Thanks." Fred spread a generous amount of jam on his slice of bread and took a big bite. "What did we learn in Defense Against the Dark Arts class this morning?"

"We had half a class on Dark creatures, and the rest of the time was spent practicing how to cast red and green sparks," answered Angelina, sitting across from them. The future Quidditch captain scrutinized the Weasley twins with her gaze. "I heard you lost thirty points for Gryffindor this morning, wiping out all the points Albert earned recently."

"We only lost twenty points," Fred muttered under his breath as he speared a piece of potato with his fork.

"Ten points were deducted in History of Magic," Albert looked up at the twins and asked, "Where did you two run off to this afternoon?"

"Secret!" Fred and George exchanged glances and smirked mysteriously.

"Oh, by the way, there's something else." Lee Jordan seemed to remember something and said to the Weasley twins, "Filch wanted me to tell you that your detention is tomorrow evening in the Trophy Room."

"Looks like you won't be cleaning bedpans this time, it's polishing trophies instead." After finishing their meal, Albert wiped his mouth with a handkerchief and suddenly said, "By the way, I ran into William not long ago. He seemed to have just finished cleaning bedpans at the hospital wing."

"Please, don't discuss these things during mealtime," Hermione glared at Albert and scolded, "It will spoil everyone's appetite."

"I remember we have Astronomy class tonight," Alicia struggled to change the topic, "Which one of you has been to the Astronomy Tower?"

"Not me, I haven't been there," Lee Jordan was the first to shake his head. "By the way, what time does Astronomy class start?"

"It starts at 9:30," Albert glanced at the timetable and replied.

"So late?" Angelina took out her own timetable from her backpack and glanced at it. It was indeed the scheduled time.

Keep in mind that Hogwarts has a curfew at 11 o'clock.

"Don't worry, we went to the top of the Astronomy Tower at noon."

"That's great!" Albert nodded at the twins. "You'll be responsible for guiding everyone later. Don't forget to bring the telescopes. Oh, and the notes for Defense Against the Dark Arts and History of Magic."

Saying that, Albert took out two books from his bag and placed them on the table.

"I'll go first!" Lee Jordan reached out for the books.

"We can each copy one subject and take turns later," the twins were faster than Lee Jordan in their actions.

Compared to borrowing notes from others, Albert's History of Magic notes were evidently more reliable.

"You guys..."

"Cough, cough. How are you doing with the Lumos spell? Tomorrow we have Transfiguration and Charms class," Alicia scanned the mischievous twins without any shame and continued, "My matchstick hasn't changed at all."

"Don't worry," Albert reassured them. "Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick will give us time in class. Of course, you can practice during the weekend."

"Albert doesn't even need to worry about homework, how enviable." Fred exaggeratedly said.

"What about you?" George asked his roommate.

"Lee, when did you master the Lumos spell?" Both Fred and George looked at their roommate in surprise.

We agreed that everyone would be at the same level, so why did you sneak ahead alone?

"Last night... I've been practicing the Lumos spell, okay?" Lee Jordan said irritably.

"Indeed, Transfiguration is harder, isn't it?" Alicia looked up at Albert. The others also looked at Albert.

Albert was instantly speechless. What are you all looking at me for?

"You were supposed to teach everyone," Fred put his arm around Albert's neck and said, "Do you have any tricks?"

"There are no tricks, it just requires practice from everyone," Albert said helplessly, "The things to pay attention to, Professor McGonagall has also mentioned."

Albert duplicated a few more matchsticks and distributed them to the others for practice.

Professor McGonagall said that Transfiguration was a difficult subject, and that was absolutely right. Until it was time to go to Astronomy class, not a single person succeeded in changing the matchstick.

"This is not scientific! Why is it so difficult?" Shanna couldn't help but complain.

"Well, of course, it's not scientific. After all, it's magic!" Albert really wanted to sarcastically comment, but ultimately held back.

A girl happened to pass by and overheard their complaints, so she lingered by Albert's side for a moment and said to everyone, "Transfiguration itself is difficult. It's hard to succeed in one go without spending a few days practicing, especially for new students who have just started learning magic."

"Good evening, Katrina."

Katrina just nodded at Albert and walked away.

"I hope we don't have Astronomy class with Ravenclaw," Angelina muttered. She didn't particularly like those folks.

"Some people from Ravenclaw do have peculiar temperaments, and our Astronomy class is combined with Hufflepuff students," Albert took out his pocket watch and checked the time, then looked up at everyone, "Well, we should go now. Be careful not to be late."
