Chapter 265: Relationship

"Really."

Albert didn't deceive Shanna. Whether it was the Transfiguration Club or the Curse Club, they were somewhat similar in nature to advanced classes in sixth grade.

It's just that the selection of students was more stringent.

Joining the Transfiguration Club not only required talent and effort but also a passion for Transfiguration and a spirit of dedicated study. Otherwise, what Professor McGonagall taught in the club would be incomprehensible to lower-grade students.

Albert told Shanna about some of the things that happened in the Transfiguration Club, but he saw Shanna suddenly shake her head and say, "Forget it."

"Forget it?" Albert was taken aback, not expecting such a response.

"I can grasp the Transfiguration magic taught by Professor McGonagall in class faster than others. That comes from my own diligent practice. If I need to learn more complex knowledge, I don't know how much more time and effort it will take." Shanna was very self-aware, understanding her own magical talent, not to mention writing a paper for a magazine like Albert.

That's probably beyond the level of O.W.L.s.

Could she really keep up with the progress of others and advance further in Transfiguration?

In the end, Shanna gave up. It was just too tiring. It's better not to live a life that's too exhausting.

Albert didn't know what to say. Without any cheats from his past life, he could understand why Shanna refused.

The two walked silently to the moving staircase.

"See you later." Albert turned to Shanna and said, "By the way, don't lend your homework to others. Be careful of Professor McGonagall finding out. You'll get in trouble along with them."

"If Fred, George, and Lee Jordan find out, they probably want to beat you up." Shanna said with a smile.

"Just don't tell them."

Soon after, Albert knocked on Professor McGonagall's office door.

"Mr. Anderson, please have a seat. I have some matters to attend to, and I'll be done soon." Professor McGonagall was revising an article for "Today's Transfiguration."

"Sorry to disturb."

Albert sat down on the armchair by the fireplace, drinking the tea that Professor McGonagall conjured out of thin air. He flipped through the latest issue of "Today's Transfiguration" on the table, waiting for Professor McGonagall to finish her task.

After about fifteen minutes, Professor McGonagall finished editing the article and sat down in the armchair opposite Albert.

"The issue with Animagus?" Professor McGonagall had already guessed the purpose of Albert's visit; she hadn't forgotten the letter he wrote to her during the Christmas holiday.

"Yes." Albert closed the magazine and nodded toward Professor McGonagall. "The issue with Animagus. I don't know much about this magic."

"Can you show me your Patronus?" Professor McGonagall looked at Albert and said softly. She understood Albert's concerns. No Transfiguration master would give up the challenge of becoming an Animagus, and a genius like Albert was no exception.

"Of course." Albert raised his wand and began to recall happy memories in his mind, successfully summoning his Patronus.

The pale silver lion-eagle hybrid walked gracefully across the office from above and quickly disappeared from sight.

"A very impressive Patronus." Professor McGonagall smiled reassuringly at Albert. "Your concerns are not unfounded, but unfortunately, I haven't found any useful information about the Animagus issue, so I can't provide you with an answer at the moment."

"Such a pity." Albert didn't feel surprised at all. His reason for consulting Professor McGonagall wasn't solely about the Animagus issue.

If it was difficult to become an Animagus through the ritual, then Albert would have to obtain this skill through a special task from the panels.

However, in order to complete the task, he would need to earn two more of Hogwarts' special contribution awards, which wasn't an easy task.

"You have plenty of time to solve the problem," Professor McGonagall consoled, "I believe you've read about the ritual in books. The Animagus ritual involves a complex process. I suggest you attempt it after graduating from school."

"Alright!" Albert raised an eyebrow, not delving further into the Animagus issue. He knew that Professor McGonagall probably couldn't provide him with significant help at the moment.

"Actually, there's something else."

"What is it?"

"Some time ago, I finally learned the Transfiguration spell." Albert brought up another surprising matter to Professor McGonagall, "I want to know more advanced applications of Transfiguration. As far as I know, the Daily Prophet uses Transfiguration to modify its content when necessary."

"Transfiguration?" Professor McGonagall looked at the student in front of her again, finding it hard to imagine that Albert was a Muggle-born wizard.

"You're correct; the Daily Prophet indeed uses Transfiguration, but that's not considered an advanced application. What level of Transfiguration can you achieve at the moment?"

"I can make similar words appear on different pieces of paper." Albert took out two identical pieces of parchment, modified their contents with an incantation, changing the words on the parchment to form a different passage.

"Your talent in Transfiguration exceeds my imagination." Professor McGonagall looked pleased and continued, "As long as you can master Transfiguration spells proficiently, you can achieve the level of altering newspaper content. However, that isn't considered an advanced use of Transfiguration."

"What about the Two-Way Mirror? As far as I know, it employs advanced Transfiguration."

"The Two-Way Mirror? I'm not very familiar with it, but if you want to explore advanced Transfiguration, I suggest you borrow two books from the Restricted Section and read them yourself. One is 'Ultimate Transfiguration,' and the other is 'Extraordinary Transfiguration.'" Professor McGonagall then wrote a note for Albert to borrow books from the Restricted Section.

This is the benefit of maintaining a good relationship with professors. In extra matters, they are always generous with their help, especially when it comes to students they believe in. They always give them a green light.

"Of course, if I find out that you've caused any major trouble because of this, Mr. Anderson, I will have you in detention," Professor McGonagall warned before handing the note to Albert.

"If you encounter any problems, you can come and ask me again, and also, don't attempt random Transfiguration spells from the books. They can be quite dangerous."

"I'll keep that in mind." Albert happily took the note and bid farewell to Professor McGonagall, turning to leave.

"Oh, Mr. Anderson, please inform your three roommates to come for detention," Professor McGonagall called out to Albert before he left, handing him another parchment, "Their Christmas holiday assignments were an absolute mess."

"Oh, I understand." Albert had initially planned to cause some trouble for the three of them, but it seemed they had run into misfortune even before he could act.

As soon as Albert left Professor McGonagall's office, he headed straight for the library, ready to share this "good news" with Fred and the others.

"Merlin's beard!" Fred couldn't help but exclaim.

Other people in the library cast annoyed glances their way, and the next moment, the three of them were kicked out of the library by Madam Pince using a chicken feather blanket.

Watching the three of them flee in disarray, Albert shook his head repeatedly. He smiled and handed the note from Professor McGonagall to the visibly irritated Madam Pince.
