One of Albert's current research topics was how to make the Iron Armor spell on the protective wristband last longer.
Recently, Albert had been reading numerous books, and some methods could indeed prolong the duration of the spell.
The simplest method was to concentrate during the casting, essentially using stronger magic to sustain it. The Replication Spell was the best example. Some replicated items could exist indefinitely, while others would disappear after a certain period, depending on the caster.
As far as Albert knew, there was also a spell called the Permanent Adhesion Spell, which belonged to irreversible magic.
The ancient spells that maintained Hogwarts Castle were incredibly powerful, and the Four Founders were human beings. Since they were able to achieve this, Albert believed that he could as well.
However, his line of thinking might have been skewed, or perhaps his research in knowledge and magic was far from their level.
Albert was contemplating whether he should consult Professor Flitwick about this issue.
Someone tapped lightly on Albert's left shoulder from behind.
When Albert turned his head, he didn't see anyone there.
"What's up?" Albert knew the person was on his right side, so he asked.
"You're such a bore, you know that?" Fred sat down with a mischievous smile in the empty seat next to Albert. "Have you read this issue of Transfiguration Today?"
"Not yet," Albert honestly replied.
"Wow, you haven't read it yet?" Fred looked at Albert in disbelief, as if he was observing some rare creature.
"It's not that I didn't have the time. What's up with this issue of Transfiguration Today?" Albert sensed something unusual from Fred's words.
Lately, he had been busy with the wristband's protective enchantment, and he had also discovered that the Runes on it, like the Avis Rune, didn't have the desired effect, which had been bothering him for a while. He hadn't had the chance to read today's Transfiguration Today.
"Your last paper was published in this issue of Transfiguration Today," Fred said, staring into Albert's eyes as if trying to determine whether he genuinely didn't know or was pretending not to know.
"Oh?" Albert was momentarily stunned and repeated, "What did you say?"
"Your last paper was published in this issue of Transfiguration Today," Fred wore an expression as if he had been defeated. He opened the Transfiguration Today in his hand in front of Albert, pointing to the article. "Professor McGonagall said that our Transfiguration Club's activity this time is to study this topic."
The students around who overheard their conversation gathered around, eager to see the paper Albert had written about Transfiguration.
"Professor McGonagall removed quite a bit of content, didn't she?" Albert carefully examined it and said to Fred, "Half of it is missing."
"I know. I read your original manuscript," Fred nodded.
Albert looked at Fred in surprise. "When did you read it? I don't remember."
"After reading your paper, I asked Professor McGonagall for a copy of your original manuscript," Fred explained. "Those things you dared to write..."
Transfiguration was the most complex and dangerous spell.
Fred vaguely remembered Professor McGonagall saying that during her first class.
Yet, this guy in front of him actually wanted to use it to counter enemies?
"Did you accidentally hit your head when you entered the common room?" Fred asked, not sounding pleased.
"Is there a problem?"
"Of course, there is. Do you know the Transfiguration Torture Curse?" Fred suddenly asked.
"I know some things about it. It's using transfiguration..." Albert hadn't finished his
sentence when Fred interrupted him.
"You know," Fred reminded, "the Ministry of Magic is always committed to maintaining peace in the wizarding world."
"They don't want..."
"Yes, after all, Transfiguration Today is an academic journal!" Fred sighed, "Your paper doesn't completely align with that."
Actually, Fred had to admit that Albert's unconventional ideas were admirable.
The uses of spells were varied, and at the right time, with the right application, they could result in unexpected destructive power.
However, sometimes it just didn't work!
"I understand," Albert nodded in agreement, "After all, nobody wants their living environment to be chaotic, and it's good for management purposes. But..."
"But what?" Fred noticed a fleeting hint of mockery on Albert's face.
"Nothing," Albert smiled and said nothing more.
This was one of the favorite strategies of upper-level managers.
After all, a flock of sheep was easier to manage than a pack of wolves.
However, once certain things were lost, they would often be vulnerable when facing challenges.
Voldemort's return was the perfect example, trampling the accumulated prestige of the entire Ministry of Magic underfoot and casually giving it a few kicks.
Albert didn't really care about those things.
In fact, he was always indifferent to matters that had nothing to do with him.
"I feel like this thing isn't practical." Fred carefully read the paper and suddenly said, "It requires advanced Transfiguration skills. In fact, you know that most wizards are terrible at Transfiguration."
"Your own Transfiguration skills are terrible, don't drag others into it," Hannah glared at Fred, not pleased.
No one would admit that they were terrible at something, even if it was true.
"Shut up, Fred," George reached out and covered his brother's mouth, preventing him from speaking.
At that moment, Beatrice walked over and patted Albert's shoulder forcefully. "It's really envy-inducing, you know? I didn't expect that you would publish your first paper in Transfiguration Today when you were only in your first year. You've completely rewritten the history of Hogwarts. I remember that not long ago, Michael McGonagall had just set a new record, but now you've surpassed him so quickly?"
"Michael McGonagall?" Hannah raised an eyebrow. The mention of that name reminded her of someone from Ravenclaw.
"Did someone call me?" Katrina McGonagall heard someone calling her name and asked.
The atmosphere became awkward.
"What's going on?" Katrina felt the change in the atmosphere and frowned unhappily.
"Nothing," Albert cleared his throat lightly, "We weren't talking about you."
"I didn't know that Isabelle had a sister," Beatrice observed Katrina McGonagall with surprise, "She never mentioned it."
"Why should she have mentioned it?" Fred looked at Beatrice and countered.
"Just curious."
"Katrina and I are in the same year," Albert interjected, showing that he knew about this.
Katrina had already guessed that these people were just discussing her sister, Isabelle. She was indeed a genius, no matter what field she was in.
However, this guy in front of her seemed to be even more of a genius than her sister. She had just read Albert's paper, and they were on completely different levels.
