Chapter 33

She gulps. She starts to think that he(Light) will know that they knew about what they talked about a few minutes ago. She starts feel like as if she will be thrown into hell. She starts to shiver. He(Light) remains silent and make intense looking eye while touching his chin with three of his(Light) finger with his(Light) right hand for several time in a minute. All of it while he is sitting on a chair. As if he(Light) is thinking something very important or dangerous or as if that he found out about them lying to him(Light) and indicating to them. She gets a bit scared as she got a feeling that he(Light) will figure it out.

She thought to herself [Did he figure it out? Did he find out that we are lying? Will he asks Ban about why he(Ban) told me about hell?] Her heart start beating fast in fear of going to hell and of him(Light) realizing that they are not telling the truth. As time goes her fear of being find out increases.

He(Light) hears what she said sometime ago and it has been already a few minutes. Ban gets tried of standing and waiting for his(Light) reply. So he(Ban) sit down on chair beside him(Ban).

Right after he(Ban) sat down on that chair Light stops touching his chin. He(Light) looks at him and replies to him like this :"I see you are not lying to me. "

Ban and Natsumi both of them feel relieved after hearing that he(Light) believed in him(Ban). Ban takes a breath and replies to him(Light) like this :"Thank goodness." He smiles a smile of relief

Natsumi smiles. She also thought to herself [That was really close. I already thought that he will figure it out. By this we have just somehow avoid going to hell.]

Ban thought to himself [He somehow believed in us. I guess we survived because of his (Light) stupidness.] But he(Ban) was curious about what he(Light) was thinking at that time while touching his(Light) chin with that intense look on his(Light) eyes. So he(Ban) asks him(Light) like this:"What was you thinking when you were touching your chin with that intense looks on your eyes?"

Light replies to him like this :"Oh! About that I was giving you a signal to sit down on the chair. So I could told you that." Light after saying that realize that does mean that he(Ban) didn't understand his(Light) signal. So he(Ban) didn't receive the signal. He(Light) continues his(Light) reply to him(Ban) like this :"Wait that means you didn't get the signal." He(Light) also asks him(Ban) :"Don't tell me you didn't understand that I was giving you a signal?"

Ban felt stupid after hearing that from him(Light). Though the signal he(Light) was giving could have been no other thing other than thinking. Ban replies to him like this :"No I wasn't sure that you was giving a signal to me."

Light was disappointed that he(Ban) didn't get his signal. Light replies to him(Ban) like this :"I am really disappointed on you. I thought you all get it since you have known me for all this time. I am... really disappointed in you."

Natsumi feel there conversation weird. She gets angry at him(Light) because he(Light) thought that ban would get this signal of him. The signal was of him(Light) touching his(Light) chin with intense looking eye. Nobody would have thought that it is a signal for him(Ban) to sit down. Naturally she found it weird and gets a bit angry because of that

She replies to him(Light) with angry voice like this :"How could someone would think or understand a signal of someone touching his own chin with intense looking eye?!! Even I thought that you was thinking something."

Ban replies to her like this :"Don't get angry. I was just joking. I understand that's he was giving me a signal for me to sit down"

Light smiles. He(Light) then lifts his(Light) chin up. He(Light) crossed his(Light) arms over his(Light) chest. He(Light) then replies to him(Ban) with prideful voice like this :"As I thought. That's the man I chose for to become my substitute."

Natsumi thought to herself [Who was the person who said that he is disappointed on him(Ban)?]

He(Ban) then replies to him(Light) with a smile on his face like this :"I am not someone who should have your praise."

Light replies to him like this :"That's not a big deal. Also I wasn't praising you. I was praising myself for choosing someone like you to be my substitute."

Ban thought to himself after hearing that from him(Light) [I should have thought that]

Either way Natsumi was surprised by hearing that from him(Ban). She couldn't believe in it. Since he(Ban) already told that he(Ban) didn't get the signal once. She looks back at him(Ban) and she asks him(Ban) like this :"Ban, did you really understand that he was giving you a signal?"

Ban replies to her like this :"Yes. I really did understand his signal to me. Though it took me more than three minutes." After he (Ban) said that he(Ban) also thought to himself [Though I wasn't sure if he really signal mean to seat down on the chair until I sits.]

Natsumi thought to herself hearing that [Then why did you asks him about that?]

Ban hears what she just thought. It is not because he read her mind but it's because she just said that without knowing that she was asking him(Ban). She wasn't thinking though she said what she was thinking without realizing.

Ban replies to her like this :"It's because I wasn't sure about that."

Natsumi surprised by realizing that the thing that she was just thinking while she also said that without knowing. She and one more thing that way bugging her mind.

She asks him (Ban) about that one more thing like this :"You could have just read his mind to be sure about that. Why didn't you do it? Or did you knew what he was thinking from the start?"

Ban was surprised by seeing that she could come upon this idea or possibility of how he may have already known that from the start.

Ban looks at her with surprised face and he also replies to her questions like this :"I didn't thought that someone who is new in here would actually think of a possibility like this." He stops making that surprised face and continues his reply to her like this :"Since you just asked me. Let me tell you about that. The truth is I really wasn't sure about what the signal he gave me mean to. But I also did read his mind before he gave or made that signal. He was thinking that if I doesn't understand what his signal means would you get angry if he disrespect me for not understanding what his signal means. So I just test it out by saying that."

Light got more proudful for choosing him to be his (Light) substitute. He comes behind him (Ban) with his instant teleportation ability. While being behind him (Ban) he (Light) also pat his (Ban) head with his (Light) right hand. While patting his (Ban) head with his (Light) head he also replies to him (Ban) like this :"That's my boy for you."

Ban wasn't very comfortable with his (Ban) head been patted with his (Light) hand. He replies to him (Light) about that like this :"I am feeling uncomfortable since you are patting my head." He continues his (Ban) reply to him (Light) by asking him (Light) like this :"Could you stop patting my head?"

Light smiles and replies to him while he (Light) was patting his (Ban) head like this :"I refuse." He (Light) continued patting his (Ban) head.

Natsumi kind of feels down because she was just tested. So she replies to him (Ban) like this :"So you just do all this act just to test my personality. Heh"

Ban looks at her and replies to her like :"I am really sorry if you are mad at me because of that. But I thought if I didn't do that I thought Light might later make fun of you or mess with you to find what will be reaction to that kind of thing. Because you know. Because of that. I think you understand what I am trying to say to you."

Natsumi replies to him (Ban) like this :"So that's why you did that. You didn't have to apologize to me because of that"

Light feels rude for Ban to think that he (Light) would mess with her for that kind of reason. Light replies to him with that smile and while patting his (Ban) head like this :"I think you are being kind of rude."

Ban replies to her like this :"I guess then it's ok. I am not sure if I have told you about this. But if I have then let me tell you again welcome to the paradise of all humans and all the other living beings. Welcome to heaven."
