The Breakout

"What do you mean!? Who escaped? What's going on?" I said frantically looking for an answer. "Not who but what..." The lady said wide eyed. Down the hall was silence but somewhere on the upper floors sounded....unholy. screams of women fleeing for their lives, a faint blaring siren and small crash or shatter every now and again." They locked the doors right Stacey!?" The man exclaimed. I heard no answer from her just a door open and heavy footsteps running, " hello are you too there!?" I said panicked, " what's happening!?" Silence I heard nothing on the other end so I did what any smart person would do, I ran. Bursting through the front doors I made a dash to the elevator to try and get to the bottom floor. I pressed the button impatiently but nothing came I started to go over to the stairs just to hear the elevator I called get there, so I attempted to go back. Next thing I know the elevator is falling, CRASH. I look down the shaft at the elevator that I was almost in with the wire cut from the top. I didn't dare look up, while sprinting down the stairs I hear the floor by floor siren getting closer and closer then. Silence. The power was cut, no alarms no lights just pitch black the faint screams got closer as if they were 2 floors up, so i hastened my descent my jog down the stairs turned to a sprint, whatever was in here i wanted no part of in the slightest. During my run down the stairs i see a small child on a step crying, I dont ask questions I pick upthe small child and keep running, the child looks up at me in awe and says " Mommy is still upstairs I have to save her!", "Your mother would think you were brave for thinking of saving her but thats no longer an option." I respond, the child bursts into a wail " MOMMMYYY! " I do my best to calm them down all while running i look ahead and see the exit and increase my dash. Bursting out the doors i look up at the building i ran out of, the top floor is on fire, smoke rolling out the broken windows the middle floors are dark and empty and the windows splattered with blood and clawmarks. I was jolted back to reality as I felt the kid leap away from me yelling "MOM ARE YOU OK!?", I look over to see a woman walking through the doors, blood gushing out where her arm should've been fall yo her knees arm open ready to embrace her child but something fealt off about her she seemed as if she was zoned out but fully functional, before i could say a word to the lady I narrowed my eyes and saw that the mother was no longer embracing the child, out of utter fear the kid pushed off the lady falling backwards to the floor abd stumbling the kid tried to get away but it was like an invisible rope was drawing him in. My body stood frozen refusing to move any closer to what was unveiling before my eyes, I saw as the lady's eyes rolled back and her jaw unhinging, her nails became claws abd her legs as tall as tge door she just walked out off, her human like features started to melt and wilt and whatever skin or resemblance of what was a human looked like a piece of stone with cracks and shards missing as if she was a psycho sculptor's jigsaw puzzle as the child clenched to the floor I saw as the creature grabbed the boy and devoured it. I could hear the crunch of his unmature bones and his final scream if terror. I felt sickly my face turning pale, the area spinning and my head light. I reached into my tech armor and pulled my pulse rifle ready to defend myself if needed then something strange happened, the creature let out noises, no, it let out voices as if it was trying to communicate, "why dont you run child?"  It said with 3 different voices all layered on top of each other " are you not...afraid?" It seemed puzzled its head turned full 180 as if it was how it were to show confusion "explain to me, son of traitor, why dont you run?" It continued " is this another trick of yours? Son of traitor" " why are you calling me a traitor! You and your kind are freaks! All you want to do is kill my kind!" I responded ferociously charging up my rifle " f-reaks? We just want protect home. Your kind come and colonize home! YOU TAKE HOME FROM US AND CALL US NAMES! WE FIGHT! WE TAKE BACK HOME! "  It revolted, it charged at me swinging its talon like fingers at me bellowing in all 3 voices, so I did as my instinct demanded and I shot

*Wirr* *BOOM*

I shot its head off, black ooze spewed out of where its head used to be as it fell to its knees the black ooze spontaneously combusted

*crackle* *BANG*

The shockwave sent me flying away and my vision went to black.....
