Chapter 17: Secrets are meant to be revealed

Third POV

Beatrice mom walked up the stairs and towards her daughter's room, when she arrived in front of her daughter's door, she knocked on it.

"Beatrice, sweetie. May I come in?" She asked, as she heard a faint voice inside saying 'just a minute!'.

The door then opened and a fully new dressed Beatrice could be seen in front of Cordelia. "Need anything mom?" Beatrice questioned, Cordelia look at her sternly.

"Can we talk? In private?" Beatrice mom respond, Beatrice blinked and nod. "Of course mom. Come in." Beatrice said as she opened the door wider for her mom to come in her room.

Beatrice POV

I wonder what will mom would tell me about, it seems to me that it was no good as to why I felt the aura that is surrounding her.

"Have a seat." Mom said, I felt a bead of sweat roll down from my cheek as I took a seat next to mom.

She took a deep breath and hold my shoulder while staring at my eyes, I was getting creeped out by my mom's action as of right now.

"M-mom?... is something the matter?" I asked, she pursue her lip.

"Beatrice, are you hiding something from your parents?" My mom said to me, I could hear my heartbeat quickened by her question.

"W-what are you talking about mom? I-I wouldn't hide something from you and d-dad..." I visibly gulped in nervousness. 'Way the go Beatrice, that was so, convincing~' I thought sarcastically as mom's grip on my shoulder tightened making me wince.

"Mom, your hurting me." I stated as I tried to get her hands off my shoulder but she only gripped it tighter than before.

"Beatrice, I'll say it once and won't say it again. Do you really love your family?" She asked me, why would she ask me this all of a sudden?!

"Of course mom! Why would you think that I don't?" I replied as I tried to not raise my voice at mom, because I respect her.

"Then, why won't you tell me that your hiding something?!"

I was shocked, shocked that my mom raised her voice at me, she doesn't usually raise her voice unless I did wrong...

'DON'T TELL ME-?!?!' I thought in panic. I smiled nervously. "I-I don't know what your talking about mom." Even though, I'm the well-known as the deadly butterfly, I still have some weaknesses. Because, no body is perfect as they said to be.

Cordelia's POV

Don't play dumb on me, my daughter, I know for the fact that you are hiding something, just please tell me.

"I know your behind of the low payments that is left of the hospital that your father had to pay. Don't lie to me Beatrice, I'm known as your mother for a reason. So please, please Beatrice, I'm begging you. What. Did. You. Do. To earn such a high quality of money?" I stared at her, my hands in now holding her hands instead of her shoulder.

My daughter didn't face me. "BEATRICE! TELL ME!" I yelled, that is until I felt some water droplets fall onto the blanket.

"I'm sorry. I'M SORRY OKAY?!" She yelled as she swatted my hands harshly and stood up. I could clearly see her face, which made my heartache.

"IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN IF DAD DIDN'T LEAVE ME ALONE HERE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH FOR ALL THOSE YEARS WHILE YOU WAS STILL IN A COMA! I'M STARTING TO LOSE MY SANITY! DAD ALWAYS MAKE EXCUSES WHEN HE WAS ABOUT TO TAKE A FLIGHT BACK HERE! HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT I BECAME A LONER IN SCHOOL BECAUSE HE... HE JUST CARED ABOUT MY ACADEMIC GRADES! HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO CHECK WHAT I WAS DOING! SO I TOOK THE RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF THE HOSPITAL BILLS BY JOINING THE MAFIA JUST SO I WOULDN'T LOSS YOU MOM!" My daughter yelled, my eyes widened when she mentioned the mafia.

I unconsciously slapped her making my eyes widened, but soon, years started to stream down. "Y-you... you what? BEATRICE! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT YOU'VE DONE?! JOINING THE MAFIA?! HOW COULD YOU?! YOUR FATHER AND I SPEND OUR LIFE IN HIDING JUST TO TAKE CARE OF YOU! SO YOU COULDN'T GET INVOLVED IN THOSE STUPID MAFIA ORGANIZATION!" I painted, Beatrice look at me, her tears still keep streaming down her face, while she was holding the part of where I slapped her.

The next thing happened is unbelievable in my eyes, my own daughter, glared at me with hatred, which made me took a step back.

"Why would you want me to stay away from the mafia then? TELL ME! I KNOW THE MAFIA IS DANGEROUS BUT DO THE MAFIA AND OUR FAMILY HAD SOME CONNECTIONS WITH THE MAFIA ORGANIZATION?!" She continued to yell, the daughter I know that respected me is all gone but replaced by somebody else that I don't know who it is anymore.

"Yes! Yes! Our family and the Mafia had connections with each other because I'm the mafia boss daughter! There! Happy now?!" I exclaimed, my daughter's eyes widened, her mouth is opening and closed, she doesn't know what to say.

Third POV

Beatrice held the side of her chest and started laughing. "So this is all it is then. You want me to stay away from my own grandparent. But, if it weren't for the mafia's help, you could have died mom!"

Cordelia gritted her teeth. "If that is my fate, then you should have let me die Beatrice." Shadow casted onto half of Beatrice face, as she balled her hands into a fists and punch the wall beside her.

"Bullshit. What about me then? You just leave me here, blaming all of my life about your death? How wonderful. Might as well run away from this household." Beatrice said as she grabbed her purse and walked out of her room, seeing her father in front of it but she swiftly walked away.

"Beatrice wait!" Her mother stumbled out of her room, hoping to reach her daughter but, she was already too late when she head the outside door closed making Cordelia drop to her knees.

"No... this shouldn't have happened." Cordelia cried as her husband hugged her. "Let's just give her some time Cordelia, she had the rights to know her grandparent."
