"Ava, come and look at what I did," Kiev shouted at her, pulling her blanket off her body excitedly as he tried to wake her up.
She was still a little disoriented as she focused her eyes on the little boy jumping on her bed. Thankfully, she was wearing a reputable nightgown, not like what she wore back home, or the boy would be in a big shock of his young life.
Anyway, she was young. She liked experimenting with her clothes, and she also fancied looking and feeling sexy even in her sleep. That was not a crime as far as she could remember.
"What is it?" She finally asked in her sleepy voice, still struggling to make sense of her current surrounding.
She was usually an early bird, but she barely had much sleep last night. Why? She did not want to remind herself of the reason she kept turning on her bed in the middle of the night.
She quickly scrubbed her face with the palm of her hands, wanting to rid herself of her unwanted thoughts, and focused her eyes on the boy, bouncing up and down on her squeaky mattress.
"Are you sick again?" The boy suddenly stopped, looking at her funnily as his head tilted to the side as if studying her.
"No, I am not." She quickly answered, shifting in the bed until she laid her back on the pillows in a sitting position, also staring at the boy. "Why did you say that?" Ava asked curiously.
Aside from feeling still slightly sleepy, she felt fine. She believed her body had fully recovered from the horrible experience of food poisoning.
She pulled the blanket again, tucking it until her waistline, and sat comfortably on the bed. Then, she tapped the space beside her, beckoning the boy to sit beside her.
The boy automatically knelt, crawled to her side, and looked up to see her face. She had never seen a boy so adorable. How could a parent abandon such a handsome and intelligent boy like him?
"Well, you were making those noises again, and then you kept twisting your body under this blanket." The boy held the blanket in his chubby fingers as he gazed at her face. "Just like when you were sick."
She believed the boy also said the same thing when they first met. She could only vaguely recall what went on in her head back then, but she could remember clearly her dream just moments ago.
"Tell me, what have you heard, and what did I do while asleep?" She raised her eyebrows at him, crossing her arms across her chest as she waited for the boy to describe to her.
"Well, can I just show you?" The boy suddenly pulled the blanket from her and hid his body underneath it. Then, he started moving and twisting under the sheet.
Then, he started making those sounds. "Ooohhh! Aaahhh!" As it kept on and on.
"Oh my! Stop!" She suddenly held the boy by the shoulder to stop him from demonstrating what he had seen, suddenly placing her hand across his lips to prevent him from moaning again.
She could feel her heart quicken with embarrassment. Her face must have been as red as her hair, feeling the warmth radiating across her cheeks.
Luckily, the boy was clueless about what she had done, or she might not be able to look him in the face. "I guess I was just having a nightmare." She quickly lied, hoping that the boy would buy her act.
She had no idea that she had been very vocal about her dream. She had never experienced something like this, as far as she was aware of, at least, in her adolescent life.
"Maybe Dad could help you cure that nightmare." The innocent child suggested, which only increased her jitteriness.
"No, no. We can't tell anybody about this." She quickly shifted to a kneeling position as she faced the boy. "I think I can handle this on my own. I hope this will be our little secret."
She suddenly pulled out her hand from her side and placed it in front of the boy. "Pinky swear." She closed her fist and extended her little finger to the boy.
She remembered doing this with her brother and little sister when they swore to keep each other's secret. But the boy only looked at her with interest.
"What is that?" Kiev asked, clearly unaware of the childish act that most kids do.
"You have to entwine your little finger with mine, and we shook on it. Then, that would mean we never tell anybody about our secrets." She explained to the little boy, who nodded his head in understanding.
"That is cool." He finally did what she asked and swore never to tell even the doctor. "Can I teach my friends how to do this?" He asked excitedly, finally forgetting about her ordeal as he started jumping again on her bed.
"Yes, you can teach them." She tried to stop him because the squeaking under her bed was annoying. "Now, go and let me finish getting ready." She gently slapped the boy on his waist.
"By the way, what was it that you wanted to show me." Suddenly, she remembered that the boy had woken her up about something.
"Never mind, it is not that important." The boy jumped out of her bed and waved her goodbye, seemingly excited to show his friends his new knowledge.
She could only shake her head, smiling at the boy as she watched his back disappear behind the door. "Closed the door, Kiev." But the boy was probably gone as she heard the front door banged behind him.
She would assume that Jace had gone for his morning routine. She should be alone in the house by now, but why did she suddenly sense someone else.
"Who is there?" She grabbed her blanket and quickly stood from the bed. She looked around the room for a weapon but stopped when she sniffed his scent. "What are you doing here?"
Suddenly, her heart quickened again, wondering why she had not felt his presence until now. Maybe he just walked in. Then, she could presume he did not hear anything.
But then again, so what if he heard about her dream. It was not as if he would think that she was dreaming about him.
"Hey, I did not mean to startle you." He suddenly showed up at her door. "But Cathy told me to bring you this." He lifted his hand to show her the paper bag in his hand.
But as her eyes looked at the man before her, she could not help chastising herself. Her dream did not do him any justice. He was not just a man. But in the light of day, he was a Greek God.
