Cliffhangers are actually really easy to make. However, they should be used in moderation. I don't know about you, but if I was constantly hit with a cliffhanger every chapter, I'd go insane. Now, how do we actually write cliffhangers?
Well, I'll give you an example...
"Ryan was trapped in the office building at noon. He couldn't get out because there were zombies right around the corner, waiting for any stupid human to appear. Of course, Ryan wasn't stupid, just caught in a soon-to-be bloody situation. Preparing himself for the zombies ahead, Ryan took out a pistol and shot the closest zombie to him. Ryan thought, 'Only fate will decide if I live or die now."
And then just end the chapter there! In the words of Steve Ross, "I pulled a sneaky on ya."
But after that, you shouldn't do a cliffhanger until something important happens. I understand everyone's description of "important" is different, but just because the MC tripped doesn't mean you should make it a cliffhanger.
That's all for today folks! Thanks for reading.
Hey young daoists! This chapter finally ends Vol. 1 of “Dao of Filler” thanks
for anyone who sticks around. As we slowly progress into making better and better content, let all new authors be blessed with power stones..
Happy New Year! ?
