New family

Cindy didn't know what was awaiting for her. Her foster family had made a decision that she couldn't stay there anymore and all she was hoping is that she didn't have to go to back to the orphanage. she had been at the orphanage for sixteen years and she never liked it.

She was teased, made fun of and was given the hardest chores and she hated every day she had to endure it. She went to school feeling down and to top it of, the nicest teacher was always giving her and angry eye. That only made her hate herself more.

she was a senior as she skipped a few classes. With a gpa of 5.0 with an IQ of 140, who wouldn't. Well, that was another reason most students made fun of her. she was the youngest in that class and was always getting A's in every subject. She had been given an option to go to an elite school but she turned down the offer as she was hated enough where she was.

She could imagine all those rich brat teasing and bullying her. The fear made her put her head down even more. Despite that, attention was always drawn to her. Like for instance, at the beginning of the year, she was made the school president by the school board which she tried to refuse for almost a month.

She was a scholarship student so she was threatened that they'd pull her out of the scholarship. She was threatened Infront of the whole school which was so humiliating and embarrassing. Due to that she gained a friend and and a few enemies. Her class teacher, Mrs Danielles was nice to everyone except her. even those creepy boys who made inappropriate comments about the teacher's body or even to the bullies who bullied her Infront of the teachers.

The only teacher who cared enough was her homeroom teacher. She always paid attention to the slightest changes and always helped her with things. She had gone to her usual sit at the back at literature class. She always avoided Mrs Danielles as she was always in a foul mood when she reached her desk.

As the she was handing out the results for the little test, someone from the front said, "I think the freak is getting the A again." Cindy just kept her head down untill Mrs Danielles said, "Actually Amanda got the A this time. Miss Cindy here got a D." She looked up shocked but didn't say anything. once she got her paper, she gasped. That was not her handwriting. It was neat but not hers.

Later that evening, She got held back at school and the board members were all sited on the round table. Mr Rogers, the principal asked, "What happened with this test?" She fiddled with her fingers. "I don't know sir. I just didn't get enough time to study. I got held back at work." She said timidly. "Let me see that paper." The principal asked. She got out the paper then handed it to him.

After observing the paper for a few minutes, she passed it around. Everyone looked at the paper weirdly and she was afraid someone will notice the handwriting. She was afraid but hoping someone notices. When the paper was laid at the edge of the table, Miss Racheal, her homeroom teacher said, "That's not her handwriting."

Everyone nodded and then asked, "Who wrote your paper?" She gulped and started picking at her skin. She said she didn't know and was told that she should say the name and if not, she would not leave the school. She just looked down as she was being honest. "You know, thinking of it, this handwriting looks way too familiar. Don't you think Mrs Danielles?" Ms Racheal asked looking at Mrs Danielles.

Everyone else looked at the two but said nothing. Cindy knew if the conversation went that way, she'd get into more trouble. "I was using my left hand and I thought if I failed one class you'll remove me from the president position." she said. They all looked at her then nodded. "You will be excused if you take the test again and you have to pass." the principal said. She nodded and was off to the corner. She was almost done when there was a knock at the door.

And there was the last person she was thinking about. Mrs Thumbson came in, looked at everyone then said, "Hi, I'm Megan Thumbson, from the socio service. Cindy was supposed to be at the Forster's earlier since I was to pick her up soon. We found a home five hours drive from here and I want to be back before midnight."

Cindy stood up and handed the papers to the principal. She then said, " Mrs Thumbson, I'm ready." The woman nodded then said, " All I need is transfer letter. It's not needed but the government might like information about a student as bright as Cindy. The principal nodded and Cindy was asked to go wait outside. She took out a book she was reading earlier and continued reading.

Back in the room, there was a heated conversation. The teachers and the board didn't want to loose their star student. since the girl joined highschool, the school has never lost any debate, math, science and other education contests. "Why can't Mrs Danielles take her? She's a criminal and all but atleast she can use her as an excuse of righting the wrong..." Miss Racheal said

" Absolutely not. I'm not taking her to my home. God knows what she's like outside school. The perfect girl demeanor one day will fall and I don't want to be the one she dies in the hands of." Mrs Danielles said. They all looked at her shocked and said, " You don't believe the news, huh? Well, as they say, innocent until proven guilty." She then gave a grin.

Miss Racheal said, " What was I thinking. you are not cut out to be a friend leave alone a mother. I bet many children have died by your hands or words." She looked at the other woman as she knew she did hit a nerve.
