Hashim sat on his bed, leaning against the headboard. This was inside his room in the Baldwin, he was looking through the window at the green palm trees in the courtyard. It was a hot afternoon, and being outside was not advisable especially for him in his current weak state. The palm leaves were swaying in the wind, sending some of the nice cool air into his room.
He had finished his lunch which was served to him by Susana Abraham. She had promised to bring him some tea to wash down the meal he just had. Tomorrow morning, he was hoping to set off on his journey to deliver letters in Jaffa. Now, all he hoped was to spend as much time with Susana as much as possible.
Knock, Knock. The sound of someone knocking at the door came to his ears.
"Come in, the door is open!" Hashim shouted to be heard by the person behind the door.
