The Katana In Red and Black Scabbard

"Well, I came here to meet up with someone if you must know" Kai laid his back on the wall, he doesn't even care about Kyung Mi's presence but he was only bothered because Fuji wanted him alone.

"So, what are you doing here?" Kai asked her.

"I am the new representative of 1st level mages, so it's my responsibility to check on all my subjects" Kyung Mi ounces every of her pride, she wasn't used to it but because Kai acts nonchalant which ticks her off.

"Well, I can take care of myself and you don't have to bother about me" Kai shrugged.

Kyung twitched her eyebrows in annoyance, "What kind of dick he is?". She straightened up "You have unknown magic and anyone could hurt you. You should be grateful that I came around".

Kai looked at her mockingly, "When did people's problems become yours?".

Kyung Mi kept quiet.

"Just like I thought so" Kai gave a stifled laugh.

"You ungrateful bit**h!" Kyung snarled under her breath. "By the way, who do you want to meet?".

"None of your business"

Kyung's eyebrows twitched in reflex action immediately after Kai said that. Kai was starting to annoy her. Before she could say any other thing Fuji arrived in the hallway.

"Finally" Kai exhaled when he saw Fuji.

Fuji saw Kyung Mi, her hands were clenched, "What have Kai done this time". He smiled.

"Hello, Kyung Mi" Fuji waved at her as he stroll towards them.

Kyung Mi turned to see who called her. Fuji's face was familiar but she didn't know his name.

"Congratulations" Fuji continued as he comes forward.

"Huh?" Kyung didn't have an idea of what he is trying to say.

When Fuji was close enough "Congratulations on your post, the representative of Ist level mages, your dad, Jun Hun, he did well bringing you up".

"Thanks" Kyung mumbled.

Fuji turned to Kai who was relaxed on the wall and uninterestedly looking at them.

"You guys done?" Kai asked.

Fuji turned back to Kyung, he smiled "You guys know each other?".

"I can't spend my time knowing a di*k". Kyung started to walk away.

"That was raw" Fuji laughed, he turned to Kai. Kai wondered why his eyes were sparkling.

"What?, Why are you behaving like that?".

Fuji rubbed his palm together with a mischievous smile on his face, "If you wanted tips on how to get a girl you should meet me".

"Disgusting" Kai retorted. "By the way, you told me to meet you at St Hudson library and there's no library around here".

"Well, I just want to put words in your mouth in case one asked you where you were heading to".

"So there's nothing like St Hudson library?" Kai asked.

"Yep, well, we don't have all day, Atta boy let's move".

They approached the end of the long hallway. There was a little house which was covered with leaves from the trees surrounding it.

Fuji turned back, he brought out a piece of paper with some wired drawings on it and stamped it on the wall at the end of the hallway.

"What is that for?" Kai asked.

"Paper magic. Illusion".

"Paper magic?".

"Yeah" Fuji turned back to Kai, "There are a lot of things you still don't know about the magisterium, well that paper magic is called illusion magic".

Kai was still confused "Illusion from what?".

"Well, if anyone should look from inside of the hallway, it'll look like he or she has approached a dead end of the hallway".

"They won't see the outside here?".

"Yeah" Fuji nodded.

"Then how did we see it, was there no illusion paper magic on it?". Kai was still confused.

"Well, at times, the dead-end is real at times and it's not, but most times it's real but few of the mages have discovered when it is usually open and when we saw that it was open.." Fuji pointed at the little house, "...We saw that house.

"So we use illusion paper magic to make it continue looking like a dead end so that no one will know about the little house". Fuji saw that Kai was still confused though he pretended to be cleared.

"You'll soon get used to this place" He patted Kai.

They walk down the stairs and towards the house. Fuji opened the door with rusty hinges, it gave a loud creaking sound.

There was dust on every item inside the house, it was a bit dark due to the leaves covering the windows.

They entered and Fuji shut the door.

"So what are we doing here?" Kai walked around the room, moving from the sitting room to the kitchen, everything was old and every other set of stuff that wasn't used was covered with cobwebs.

"This place was owned by someone you might have heard his name".

"Who?" Kai sounded uncurious.

"Utahi, he was a weapon master and also a wizard, this was his little hut". Fuji waited for Kai's reaction.

Kai turned to him slowly, "So what are we doing here?".

"To get you a weapon". Fuji walked up to the shelf in the room, he dragged a lever and the shelf slid slowly to its left with a creaking sound.

That was the neatest place Kai have seen since they entered the house. Different katanas were hanged in a horizontal line but arranged in a row of two.

Fuji motioned Kai to come closer. Kai went closer.

"Now, I want you to look at these katanas deeply, chose the one that talks to you.

Kai looked at the katanas unconcerned, he doesn't know what he was doing, and immediately his eyes went dark. A katana sheathed in a red and black scabbard started clinging.
