Chapter 26 : Carnage

The group escorting the caravan is in a bad position because of the large number of monsters that have suddenly appeared. Indeed, the merchant family of orcs who hired their mercenaries for their escort did not think that the monster population would increase so much.

They thought the way was safe because all the undead were captured by their King or rather their God.

"Don't worry Julie, if the mercenary orcs don't manage to handle the situation we'll try to escape by abandoning our merchandise!" The orc who was called 'Big sister' answers her with a calm tone but resolute look.

" Okay, I trust you Big sister! " Julie replies with a slightly more energetic tone than before.

'Arh! I'm sorry my little Julie but I don't think we'll be able to get out of this situation alive. If only I had taken a few more mercenaries to escort us we wouldn't have these problems!' The Big Sister thinks inwardly while glancing in the direction of the mercenaries who are fighting with all their might against the monsters coming from the forest.

Meanwhile, the mercenaries are still fighting against the monsters.

"I need reinforcements on the left flank! I've got several insect-like monsters coming straight for the left flank!" An orc screams at the top of her lungs while using the sword in her hand to pierce the body of a monster that is right in front of her.

"Three people go to the left flank to help her counter the bug monsters!" The captain of the mercenary group shouts in turn and at the same time uses her shield to block the attack of a monster that is three times bigger than her.

" " " Understood " "" Three orcs respond to the captain's orders and then leave in the direction ud left flank of the caravan.

However, it's not just the left side of the caravan where there are monsters coming in large numbers from the forest.

The right flank is also subject to the frequent arrival of monsters.

The group of mercenaries is under more and more pressure because of the number of monsters that keep growing with each passing minute.

Every second represents a new injury, superficial or not, to one of the mercenary orcs.

Several orcs are already out of action due to their excessive injuries. They are therefore placed in the center of the mercenaries' defensive formation. Several priestesses are also in the center of the caravan to heal with energy the mercenary orcs that are injured during the fight against the monsters.

Minutes pass, an hour later almost all the orcs are out of the fight because of their too big wounds on their bodies.

The only mercenary orcs that are fighting the monsters are only 10 out of 50.

These 10 mercenaries are the strongest of the group, but they resist with the last strength they have.

They can collapse at any moment.

But it is at this moment when they think they will die against these monsters that come from the forest and that seem to have no end that the shadow of a group can be seen by the 10 mercenaries that are still standing.

When they see who the shadow belongs to, they lose all consciousness with a smile on their lips and a relaxed face.

A few minutes before the arrival of Leon's group on the place of the attack of the caravan of the merchant family...

"Leon I think there is a fight a little further in this direction." Aude said while point to the left of their group.

"Yes, you are right, the smell of blood is extremely important in this direction. I think we should go and have a look to see what's going on there!" Leon answers her with a calm tone but keeps a vigilant look when he looks in the direction where comes the strong smell of blood.

Aude and Candice both nod their heads before following Leon in the direction where the noise of fighting comes from.

However, the moment Leon's group arrives at the place where there is a confrontation between the monsters and the mercenaries protecting the merchant caravan.

Leon and his group can't believe their eyes because the number of monsters in this area is enormous.

There are more than 5,000 monsters coming from the forest to attack the caravan.

Without any hesitation Leon, Aude and Candice decide to help the orcs who are being attacked;

Leon uses an attack that can hit a large number of enemies with a single attack.

On Leon's palm, a second sun is created in a few seconds. This sun is then thrown in the direction of the different monsters.

The moment the miniature sun touches the monsters, it explodes and creates a smoke in the form of a mushroom where the sun touched the monsters.

Julie and her older sister, who are still in their hidden caravan, can't believe their eyes because the miniature sun has killed about 3,000 monsters in one attack.

The effect of the explosion alone shook an area of over 1,500 meters around the center of the explosion.

However, Aude and Candice are not standing still and also attack the monsters with different attacks.

Candice takes the two swords in her back and attacks the monsters with these swords with different moves. Each of these moves takes the life of a monster.

Aude in her case uses spells like Leon but with a slightly lower scale. Indeed, she uses spells that look like arrows that are about 1 meter in diameter each.

These arrows are like the reaper for the monsters because an arrow kills a monster on the spot.

Meanwhile, Leon also casts spells that look like flaming swords on the monsters.

In a few minutes all the monsters present are dead under the attacks of Leon's group and his group.
