Chapter Nineteen

“We have to manually unfurl her wings,” A woman yells not too far from me, so it’s not surprising that’s what has wakened me. My eyes have remained closed, which means I’m not out of the paralyzed stage yet; which sucks because agonizing hell is what awaits my body.

“Well, we can’t do that.” Sarian hisses in a whisper. “She’s my daughter, which means you are not allowed to desecrate my little girl’s body.”

“King Sarian, if her wings do not get healed, it won’t matter if they scar. They will not work.”

“Give her time.”

“It’s been six hours.”

“Her last attack only left her paralyzed for three.” Sarian hisses.

“Double the bite, double the time, is not necessarily how this works. We don’t know enough about this to know what is going to happen.” The woman yells.

“You guys need to shut up,” Alek hisses. “You’ll wake her, and what she needs most is rest.”
