CHAPTER 97: RESUMING WORK AT DEVAN CORPORATION.

The same day......

Le Soleil club......

The car Eve, Sue and Nars used is the one Charlie bought for her when they got married. Eve drove the car and stopped in front of a club with the name 'Le Soleil' written at the top. All of them came down from the car.

"This bar just opened and I heard that it is lit" Sue said dragging Eve into the club. When they entered Eve heard a familiar voice call her name and she turns back.

"Eve" Charlie said surprised to see Eve.

"Charlie, what are you doing here?" Eve asked.

"My friends suggested we hang out here as it just opened" Charlie said.

"Me too" Eve said smiling.

"Okay, in that case why not join us, we are over there" Charlie said pointing at a corner in the club.

"Okay" she turns to Sue and Nars and asked "are you guys fine with it?" Eve asked.

"Of course! We are okay with it" Sue and Nars said simultaneously. It is a dream come true to sit with their boss at the same table.

"Okay, then let us go" Eve said and held Charlie's arm and they go to where Charlie's friends are sitting. 

"Hey Eve, we meet again" Victor said.

"Yes, I guess so, how are you and your wife?" Eve asked.

"She's fine" Victor said.

"What of ginger?" Eve asked looking at Michael.

"She is also fine" Michael said.

"Won't you introduce your friends to us?" Victor asked.

"Oh.. sorry I forgot! This is Sue and this is Nars" Eve said pointing at them while introducing them.

"Hi" Sue said.

"Hi" Nars said.

"Hi" Victor and Michael reciprocated their greetings. They ordered drinks and started chatting while drinking.

"So Charlie have you broken your virginity?" Victor asked making Charlie and Eve to spit out the drink in their mouth.

"What is wrong with you guys?" Charlie said patting Eve's back because she was coughing. "How can you ask me that?."

"What do you mean? We are just eager to know if you are still a virgin, is there anything wrong with that?" Victor asked unaffected. By now Michael, Sue and Nars were already laughing and clutching onto their stomachs.

"You..." Charlie said but he stopped and realized he does not know what to say and his ears were red. It was Eve that answered.

"Ye...yes" Eve said her cheeks red.

"Ohhhhhh" Victor said.

"That is great! It has been long overdue" Michael finally spoke up.

"Yeah and it was also Eve's first time also" Sue said.

"Sue!" Eve shouted.

"That means you both gave your virginities to each other!" Victor said.

"That is wonderful news!" Michael said.

"And as the saying said 'wonderful news requires wonderful celebration' so we need to celebrate" Victor said.

"I never heard of that anywhere" Charlie said.

"Whatever, the main thing is that we celebrate you graduation from a virgin to a man" Victor said.

"You..." Charlie said but was interrupted.

"Dude just close your mouth and let's enjoy ourselves" Victor said and raised his glasses, "let's cheers to the graduation of the almighty Charles Powell to adulthood."

"And don't forget Eve also" Sue said.

"And also Eve" Victor said.

"Cheers!" They clicked glasses, of course apart from Eve and Charlie who were just watching their friends teasing them. They went on and on drinking and chatting until it was 11pm and they decided to call it a day.

They left one by one with Sue and Nars leaving together in a taxi, Victor followed later while Michael, Eve and Charlie came out of the club together but part ways going in different directions leading to their homes.

Monday morning......

Charles's mansion......

Eve and Charlie are getting ready to go to work and after they were done, they went to the dinning room to have their breakfast.

"Will you be okay?" Charlie asked Eve.

"Huh?" Eve said looking at Charlie because she didn't hear what he asked.

"I asked if you would be okay alone at Devan corporation?" Charlie asked.

"Oh, yes I will" Eve said.

"Okay but if you need anything or help don't hesitate to ask me" Charlie said.

"Don't worry, I will" Eve said. After they were done with their breakfast, they entered Charlie's car and went to work. Charlie dropped Eve off at Devan corporation before going to his company.

Still Monday morning......

Devan corporation.........

Eve wore a black and white check slim fitted gown with a 3 inch white heels shoe and a black Luis vitton bag. She strolled into Devan corporation with her head held high. She was greeted by the employees and she responded to their greetings and entered the private elevator leading to the CEO's office.

The elevator dings and the door opens up to a 33rd floor of the building which is occupied only by the CEO and his or her secretaries.

Eve walks down the hall and stopped in front of the door that read CEO's office at the top. She inhales and exhales before opening the door.

She walks in and sees that every furniture in the office has been replaced by Charlie because he thought that the previous decorations and furnitures would remind her of her uncle so he changed it and she is grateful for that. She is really thankful that she met Charlie if not she didn't know what would have happened, "what her uncle and his family would have done to her, whether they would have succeeded in killing her" she thought while looking around the office. She toured the office for some while before starting the work for the day.

The day ran fast and it was already closing time. Eve was finishing her work when she heard the door open. She looks up and is surprised of the person she saw.

"Are you done?" Charlie asked smiling because of the reaction on Eve's face.

"Yes.. No... Almost done. Just need to arrange these documents and I will be done" Eve said surprised to see Charlie.

"Okay I will wait for you to finish" Charlie said sitting on the sofa in the middle of the office.

"How come you are here?" Eve asked Charlie.

"I came to pick you up of course! You weren't thinking of entering a taxi are you?" Charlie asked, the space between his eyebrows reduce.

"Well... Yeah but since you are here there won't be any need for that" Eve said shrugging her shoulders.

"You..." Charlie began to talk but was interrupted by Eve.

"Is there anything wrong with using a taxi?" Eve asked.

"No family of mine will use taxi" Charlie said affirmatively.

"Ok.... Ok... I surrender" Eve said agreeing with Charlie.

"Okay be fast let us go" Charlie said.

"I am done, we can go" Eve said laughing and parking her things and both of them leaves the company.

Still Monday: evening.....

Charles's mansion......

Charlie and Eve got back from work and headed straight to their room to freshen up and eat dinner.

"How was your first day at work today?" Charlie asked.

"It was really stressful because we had to pull back the company back on track because the company was affected by the whole news but anyway it was also interesting because I got to learn new things" Eve said.

"Okay but don't over work yourself, so you won't fall sick" Charlie said.

"Okay! Hmm... Charlie" Eve called.

"Mhm?" Charlie said.

"Can you help me search for a reliable person to be my personal assistant?" Eve asked.

"Okay no problem, I will send one of my trusted secretary to you" Charlie said.

"Thank you" Eve said giggling.

"Instead of thanking me verbally, why not thank me in action" Charlie said with a mischievous smile on his face.

"And what would that be?" Eve asked as if she doesn't know what he meant.

"You know what I mean" Charlie said.
