Olivia's POV:
After staring at the ceiling for five minutes, my conscience couldn't let me rest as I thought about the sick Mr. Bennett upstairs. With a heavy heart, I walked to the kitchen to make him breakfast, after thinking a lot I decided to make an egg white omelet with spinach and mushroom, this dish was packed with protein and nutrients to help him recover.
I spent forty minutes making breakfast before serving it on a tray and walking upstairs, I knocked at the door but there was no response.
I sighed and walked in but couldn't find Mr. Bennett on the bed, then I heard the shower running. He must be in the bathroom, should I go back with the food or wait for him?
After a lot of contemplation, I decided to leave with the food. I stood up to leave when the bathroom door pulled open and Mr. Bennett walked out with a bathroom robe.
He looked pale but also daring, I glared at him before quickly placing the tray of food at the table.
"What are you doing?" he asked and I could feel his glare on me.
"I made you breakfast…not because I care but because I promised Natou," I said justifying my actions.
"You made this?" he asked and I nodded, he took a few steps closer when I extended my hands stopping him.
"Get dressed," I said and he frowned before sitting on the bed, he looked pale but his aura was still strong.
He glared at the food and I could see the frown on his face, he quickly wiped off the frown as he took the first spoon.
I don't know why, but I anticipated on his comment regarding my meal. "Mr. Bennett, what is wrong?" I asked when I noticed the red spots which suddenly showed up on his neck.
He held his chest as he found it difficult to breathe, what had I done? If he died now then I would be sent to jail for poisoning him, I didn't put any poison in the food.
"I didn't poison you, what's happening?" I asked with tears rolling down my cheeks as I noticed the red spot increased, he pointed at his drawer and I couldn't understand why he pointed at it.
"Mr. Bennett, I will call the doctor," I said and turned to go downstairs when he grasped my hand tightly and pointed at the drawer.
I walked to the drawer and found a bottle of pills there, I hurried back to him and he seized it from me before consuming two.
"Mr. Bennett" I called worriedly, then his breathing slowly became normal as he glared at me.
"I loved the food" he spouted and my eyes widened in shock, was he trying to make a mockery of me right now?
"My food almost killed you" I cried out, seeing his state brought back memories of three years ago when I got involved in the accident.
"No, I am allergic to mushrooms," he said and I glared at him in disbelief, it was clear that the food had mushrooms and I now understood the frown on his face before he ate it.
"Are you stupid? Then why did you have to eat it?" I scolded angrily.
"Because you made it" he replied and I couldn't believe his reason, should I be angry or happy about this?
"I will make you something else," I said and hurriedly walked out of his room.
Once I got downstairs, I heard the sound of a car driving in and saw Bruno walk in with some men who held metal suitcases, they seemed like engineers.
"Get to work now" he ordered them and then turned towards me.
"Good morning Mrs. Bennnett," he said.
"What's happening?" I asked when a lady walked in, she was probably in her late thirties and was also dressed as a maid.
"Miss Bennett will be here for Bennett's Enterprise thirtieth anniversary…so some arrangements are made for her" he explained and I got curious as I never expected there should be a Miss from the Bennett family.
"Mr. Bennett's sister?" I asked and he nodded before he got a call and left. And he mentioned an anniversary, well it was none of my business because I was not a part of their family.
Seeing how handsome Mr. Bennett is, I believe his sister must be pretty and I am sure she knows why Mr. Bennett forcefully married me, so I could ask him personally.
But one thing wasn't clear, why did they have to get a maid and also engineers?
"Hello ma'am," the maid said with a bright smile and I nodded, was Miss Bennett bossy and lazy? Why did they have to hire a maid because she would be here, curiously I walked in the direction those men walked to and I was shocked to see that there was an elevator behind the staircases.
Since I got here, I haven't done a tour so it wasn't surprising. They seem to be fixing the elevator, was Miss Bennett too lazy to climb the stairs?
With a heavy sigh I walked back to the kitchen to make breakfast for Mr. Bennett, as I walked into the kitchen I noticed the maid followed me still maintaining her bright smile.
"I will make breakfast if you permit," she said and I thought for a while, my food almost killed Mr. Bennett so maybe I shouldn't cook again but I won't feel good leaving my chores to the maid.
"It is fine, I will do it," I said and she nodded.
"What's your name?" I asked while washing the salad, I should cook something simple since I still don't know his preferences.
"Ellen," she said with a gentle tone and I had to admit her way of speaking was gentle.
"So what do you know about Miss Bennett?" I asked and she had a lost look.
"No idea" she replied "I was only hired as a maid here, isn't she your sister-in-law?" her tone was confusing and I could understand, to others it felt weird that I didn't know anyone from the Bennett family but that was the reality.
I replied to her with a smile before focusing on the salad, in less than thirty minutes I was done and was about to go give Mr. Bennett upstairs when there was an incoming call from the home-fixed phone.
Again, I never knew there was a fixed phone in the sitting room until it rang. Ellen glared at me and I remembered I was the one to pick up the call.
"Take this to Mr. Bennett upstairs please, the room with the small door," I said reminiscing on the first day I got here.
She had a nervous look "Uhm…will he mind?" she asked and I sighed, I guess Mr. Bennett was well known for his cold demure.
"He won't" I assured her, after all, he was sick and won't have the energy to scold or hit her, then I walked to the phone and picked it up.
"Hello," I picked up the call.
