Alex turned to spare Vanessa glance when he noticed that she was staring at him, "Is there a problem?" He asked, and immediately she realized that he had caught her staring, she quickly looked away, arousing his curiosity even more.
"What were you thinking about?" He asked, and Vanessa shook her head. It was best she didn't say a word of what she had been thinking.
"Nothing."
"Cowardice and lies too?" Alex asked, and she cast him a confused glance.
"What?"
"I know you to be proud, stubborn, and annoying, I don't know you to be a coward or a liar. I'm surprised you're telling a lie," Alex said, and she rolled her eyes.
"Everyone tells lies."
"I don't," Alex said matter of factly, and something about his tone told her he was telling the truth.
"You don't?"
"I'd rather not answer a question than tell a lie," Alex explained, and Vanessa shook her head.
