Although I say I'm on a journey my main body is really still in the Yin Sect.
Me actually going out would just cause unnecessary trouble so I sent an avatar instead.
In this world, an Avatar was basically a permanent clone. The soul was shared so I was essentially controlling two bodies.
My main body of course wasn't lazing around as much as before, Snow eventually told me to teach the more sword focused disciples.
I walked through a forest, continuing in the direction of the Sword Canyon.
It wasn't really a shortcut, more of I was walking straight towards my destination.
I slowed my walking speed a little, just enjoying the sounds of the forest.
As I walked and walked, the symphony was broken by a baby's cry.
Now, the forest I was in wasn't super special, but monsters still lived here so whoever brought a baby in here was desperate or idiotic.
I headed in direction of the baby and very quickly came across him.
Wrapped nicely in silk and placed in a rattan basket, the baby cried and cried and cried.
His eyes were all puffy, how long had he been crying?
I spread my senses, a village not too far from here was wasted and burned.
Not a single parent nearby, probably eaten by monsters.
But then how had the kid survived?
I lifted the baby and cradled him in my arms, I didn't really have experience with babies but surely it wasn't that hard?
Underneath the child was a single character rune, put together with soft branches.
The rune meant something along the lines of protect.
So the parents were able to use runes?
I probed the baby with my senses, deeper this time.
I went over his organs, his bones, bloodline and soul.
Sure enough, his bloodline was thick with runic energy and upon his soul a rune was engraved.
I wasn't a runic master and my knowledge was shallow so I wasn't able to identify it, however it gave of the faint smell of iron.
Such a talented baby, I had to take along. Though I wasn't too sure how Snow would react to me bringing home a baby...
Well I'll just bring it along on the journey for now I suppose.
I soothed the baby to sleep, it wasn't too hard since it was already exhausted.
I had found a small village some distance away, they had goats so it should hopefully be fine I remember goat milk being okay for babies though a mother's milk is best I suppose.
I idly thought as I flew to the village.
