'You draw well', Steve said.

'Yeah, but I know things won't be the same', Alice said.

'What do you mean?', Steve asked her.

'I have business in California. Just stuff I need to sort out. Look, there's the cabins near the glistening lake', Alice answered.

'If you draw like that of us...'.

'Steve...'.

'Look, if you don't like it here by next week, I'll pay the bus ticket myself'.

'Thank you, Steve', Alice said.

And that was the end of the conversation, as Midday arrived.

Steve waited.

'Look, I shall be home soon. I'll arrive by six o'clock'.

And he drove away towards town.
