Chapter thirty-one.

Many years on.

Deeply in the night of autumn, the sky lightings by thunderstorms giving a flashlight in the crowd of darkness.

Due to his face tending to be hidden in the darkness, the continual sleet of lightings reveals his handsome face. His body and hair were soaked with the rain, his black singlet shirt was all soaked up. A strain of hair was on his face. His face tends to look more attractive under the heavy rain.

Despite the heavy rain and darkness, his weapons of practice move swiftly as it tends to naturally move, hinting at its targets even in the heavy nights of rainfall.

It has become his routine to practice daily, even in the late hours of the deep night.

Working aimlessly he feels but chooses to ignore the presence of whoever that was afar accompanying him rather than catching some sleep.

"Action!" the director shouted out

" How could you?" she yelled out with pain and betrayal written on her face.

the pain slowly registered on Sabel as she was slapped but without much change of expression, she continued to act

" Madam, I am sorry. It wasn't my intention. It was a mistake. Please forgive me." she said kneeling as the streams of tears flooded across her cheeks

She went close to her to draw her hair hardly when the director shouted "CUT."

"That's all for now. let go for 15 minutes break," he said

"Miss, take some water." a young lady in her early twenties rushed forward to give the bottled water to the young actress who was acting with sabel as her mistress. Her name is Cabrel.

She was an A-list actress and daughter of one of the most prominent businessmen in the country.

Her arrogance and dominance were well known in the country and industry. Everyone was used to it. Even during acting, at times she acts outside the script and the worst was that nobody could pinpoint it or correct her.

Her slap during the scene was outside the role. She was told to pretend to slap her during the scene but being the "great miss " she was. She believes that she wouldn't be punished for making it real.

Even after what she has done that, nobody was ready to offend her for an unknown actress.

She left the scene with her assistant, swamping her waist seductively.

After she left slowly everyone else stood up and vanished from the scene.

Sabel slowly stood up from the floor, wiped her tears after everyone left. Nobody bothered to glance at her even for a second before leaving.

She has been acting since the age of eighteen yet, still struggling as a D-list actress. Even when wounded during the scene nobody bothered to take much care of her.

The industry she signed under was the most powerful entertainment industry in the country. The Golden entertainment company was a place where stars were raised, fifty percent of popular celebrities were raised by the company. She was able to enter the industry through her father the major general.

No matter, how she struggled. She remains on the same level. Many directors had been marveled at their acting talent yet, have not been given any major or important roles. Some major roles were stolen from her by other actresses.

"Miss are you okay. Let's apply some ice on your face is swollen. " she raised her black thick long eyelashes and nodded before answering.

" Hmmm let go and eat, then we will remove my makeup and put the ice on."

"But miss your face is swollen. "

She raised her hands shutting her up. " I will apply it but that will be after I had my lunch. Moreover, I'm done for today." she laughed bitterly and shacked her head

"Not like I have many scenes. I just appeared five times in a whole of 100 episodes."

"Miss don't lose hope. We will still overcome. One day, you be a great star." the assistant consoled.

"How Myers? how? I have acted for four years now. Remember Alec and byra started with me, my boyfriend and best friend. All of us were new beans but now both of them are A-list celebrities. They are Hollywood celebrities."

"I need to raise, if not Alec is going to leave me one day. I have seen how many ladies have swamp around him like bees since he became a superstar. I know he won't cheat on me now. I trust him but what about the future.." she concluded bitterly giving her paybay to her assistant. Her voice was filled with pain and insecurity.

"Miss but he's not complaining, so don't pressure your heart. Be at ease, God will help you." Myres said following behind her.

"I know how men behave. Some of them may not complain in front of you but when the times come he will feel you are not to his speck. ."

"Miss but Mr. Alec loves you so much. He won't think like them. All men are not the same. Don't let sister Byra deceive you." she said as they settled on one chair in the eating cafe.

Sabel was about to reply when her phone brim light indicated an incoming call. She looks at the screen of her phone, her face brims with light and delight. All her pain and agony of the day disappeared on seeing the caller's ID.

Looking her face, without being told. Myres knew that it was Mr. Aleco.

Without a second thought. She swept her fingers across the screen.

"Hello babe." a deep gentle voice rang from the other side.

"Good afternoon, Aleco how is your day," she said smiling.

"My day is okay, I just finished a scene." Some noises were heard in the background.

"Now tell me how was yours. I hope nothing is troubling you," he said in a gentle and caring tone.

"Please let talk about you. How are you doing? I hope the weather there is not harsh to you?"

A deep chuckle was heard across the phone.

Sabel smiled on hearing him but something stuck her.

She asked before he could speak " Ale when are you coming back."

Without thinking much about it he replied" 28 of Next month, Are you missing me." he asked smiling across the phone.

"Yeah, I'm missing you already."

A deep chuckle was heard across the phone. " Don't worry babe, before you know it. I will be there. Please take care of yourself. I love you."

"I love more. Send my greetings to Byra."

" Oh, that trouble maker. Don't worry, I will!" he said and hang up the phone.

Sabel noticed a doting tone in his voice at the mention of her best friend but chose to ignore it. ' Maybe I am overthinking' she thought.

Her boyfriend and best friend are shooting a role in the new Hollywood movie. So both are in America together.

She wants to surprise them on Aleco's birthday.

She dropped her phone on the table before saying to her assistant" I want to give Aleco a surprise. Help me to think about what am going to give him. At least by then, I would be paid but before that let's order something to eat. I'm famished.
