Chapter 26: Reconciliation
I step back into the ordinary embrace of our shared dorm, the air heavy with tension.
As I enter the living room, I find Gabby pacing anxiously, her worry etched across her face.
It's evident she's been searching for me since I disappeared, and guilt begins to gnaw at me.
Her eyes meet mine as soon as I come into her vicinity, and without a word, she pulls me into a tight hug.
It's as if the weight of the unspoken words hangs in the air between us.
"I don't want to fight with you anymore, Kyra," she says, her voice laced with genuine concern. "It puts me in such a bad mood, and I hate it."
Her sincerity softens the edges of my frustration, and I feel the walls I've built around myself start to crumble.
At that moment, I realized that perhaps it was time to let go of the resentment that had fueled our arguments.
As Gabby continues to hold me, I gather the courage to speak my truth.
