That day in the rain-2

Caring less for my dirtied soaked shoes, I drag my feet toward the bus stand a few kilometers away from the school. I think I have run far enough, even if he catches up with me, there is nothing he can do to me in the public.

Shivers wouldn't stop running over my body, trembled even in my breath, panting out of oxygen. I take a seat to catch my breath, hugging myself hoping it can reduce the chills I feel.

It takes a few minutes to calm myself when I spotted a black sedan pulling over, I start panicking as I heard the door pushed open and someone is descending down. My very first instinct is to escape, running wildly towards the opposite direction without even looking back.

The footsteps of the person become intense and I sense that I can never make an escape this time as he at last able to grab me by my elbow. I come to a dead-end, left with no choice, covering my ears I shouted to the top of my lungs, conquering the roaring heavy rain.

"Lana Kang! Hey!"

Somebody with a pair of strong arms grasping over my shoulder, making my whole body shaking. His voice was getting louder and forceful for me to hear and recognize the voice I have always know.

"Hey, it's fine. It's me." His voice softens to his usual tone.

"Sam... Samuel.."

Looking up, I never have been so glad to see him for the rest of my life. And for a moment, I don't care if it is wrong to just embrace any boy I meet on the street.

I'm overjoyed that it is him that found me and I'm unsure why am I wailing to my heart content shamefully to his broad hard chest.

"Hey, what's wrong Lana? Whatever is it, it's fine now, I'm here." His hands caress my back, comforting, then, whispered seriously to my ear. "But your drenched uniform is showing your body."

Hearing to the fact, I hastily jerking away from him, covering my front body. I have forgotten to take my blazer with me while I'm running for my life!

Samuel Jin and I had been friends since elementary school. We also had been living in the same neighborhood ever since. But as we grow out of our childhood, we stop playing together anymore.

Samuel's dad is one of the legal company board of directors my dad is working with. And I don't need to mention him living in one of the five prestigious mansions that exist in our neighborhood.

Are Samuel and I being together?

Is an impossible distance as the sky and earth.

Being athletic, artistic, and wealthier, he also excels in studies placing only in the first 5th place while I can only maintain my grade at the top 10 from the last place. With this, my feeling for him will only bring shame to his family.

I'm not someone who deserves him, Mom had always reminded me to know where I stand. Thus, I rather stay away from him before its getting uncontrolled.

"Gosh, why are you being careless, here use this." He said, taking off his blazer to put over me. "Don't worry about a thing. Come, Uncle Lee will be sending us home today, " He continued, Uncle Lee is their family chauffeur. "It's raining you should listen to me to go home together just now. Gosh, you are such a headstrong."

Samuel somehow sounds like a fussy big brother to me, but magically it doesn't irritate me at all. I wish that he take care of only me, but Samuel being considerate and humble, he does this to everyone else. Sadly, it's not that I'm special to him that he treated me well all the time being.

It's just his nature...

"Thank you, " I replied as I was hypnotized by his kind gestures. He is always offering me a ride, some of the days I manage to get away with Naomi Jang by my side. But today is a little bit unusual for my condition. "I'm going to soak your car, it's embarrassing... I should be fine waiting here for the bus."

"Gosh, don't bother, or else I will have to drag you myself into the car, " Samuel insisted. With an umbrella on his other hand, he uses his other free hand pulling me to go along with him.

Gritting my teeth, I hesitantly following his steps. Instead, the bus or the e-hailing services will be slow during this rainy peak hours, I don't want to risk myself bumping with Mr. Bong anymore.

Shielding me from the rain he opened the door to the backseat and settle himself beside me after. "Sorry for taking your time, Uncle Lee. Something is up with Lana, lets send her home."

"It is alright, its don't bother me at all, Samuel." The middle-age chauffeur replied with a smile to us. "Let's get you kids home now."

That's Samuel, the guy who had been the warmest I have known from the beginning. Smart, good-looking, and always speak in a gentle gesture. Tell me, which type of girl can resist him?

But, this raining day has marked the darkest history of my life.

I don't belong at home, a school is not a safe place for me either. Even the solace I find in the rain will always remind me of today.

I...

Have nowhere to turn anymore...

Stealing a glance at Samuel, I'm still glad.

After all, he is here.

My hero, Samuel...
