The Train and Claptrap
As the Hyperion grunts were leading us to the train the group finally got a good look at each other. "I guess we'll be working together in the future. My name is Axton ex Dahl military. How about all of you?" Salvador was the first to respond, "My name is Salvador. I grew up here on Pandora with my abuela." Maya was next to respond to Axton's question. "I'm Maya. I grew up on Athenas with the monk order." I answered next, "The name is Clint. I grew up on Gehenna as part of the devil riders." That left Zero for last, "My name is called Zero, my place is unimportant, it's good to meet you." The other 3 look at Zero in a weird way. "That's an odd way to talk, do you have a reason for it?" Axton asked after a moment of silence. Zero just shakes his head no.
As we finished talking we heard loader bots starting up. This is when the Handsome Jack sign falls to show us all this was a trap. As the loaders start firing at us I was able to stop some of the bullets with my katana and highnoon ability. This gave Axton enough time to set up his turret. The turret took out the Bots as Axton turns around and fires a rocket at a group of Hyperion engineers and loaders rush in from another car. The rocket takes put most of them, but a few still remain that Maya takes out with her siren powers. One of the loaders is thrown into the wall and breaks it. This allows Salvador to come back in a gunzerk his way through a large crowd of Hyperion personnel. While all of this is happening Zero is having his own fight on the top of the train. Zero's clone allows him to trick the engineers and kill them. After the fighting has stopped we meet up at the front of the train. The only car left is the engine. Axton asks if we are already before he breaches the door. Once inside the engine we see a Handsome Jack dummy with the rest of the engine filled with explosives and fuel. As we are about to turn and run the dummy talks,"Welcome to Pandora kiddos." Right after the dummy stops talking the explosives go off.
I don't know how long I was out after the explosion, but as I woke up I saw the others were waking too. We all heard a voice coming from a little robot in front of us. "Great, another dead group of vault hunters. Handsome Jack has been busy." As the little robot is digging in the snow he figures out that we aren't dead. "Wait a minute, you're not dead! YES! Now I can get off this glacier! Claptrap, your metaphorical ship has finally come in!" As he is talking we all start to get up to our feet. "Allow me to introduce myself - I am a CL4P-TP steward bot, but my friends call me Claptrap! Or they would, if any of them were still alive. Or had existed in the first place! Oh, I've got something for you." Claptrap starts digging around the corpses near us and hands each of us a rectangular box. "Here, take this ECHO communicator that I totally didn't loot from one of these corpses! It comes with a class-twelve heads-up display, complete with a minimap! Now, come, come, friend. Let's get you inside." Once the little robot was done talking we started to follow him to get out of the freezing snow. As Claptrap was walking he started talking to no one in particular. "Man, this is great! Now that I've met a mighty Vault Hunter, I can finally join the resistance in Sanctuary, take vengeance against Jack for killing my product line, and repair my central processor so I stop thinking out loud! I wonder what it's like to have a belly button."
About halfway towards the door we could see we all stopped at the same time as we heard a voice in our heads and saw a mystery woman. "I'll explain everything soon, but know this, you're alive for a reason, and I… am here to help you." I looked at the rest of them and asked, "Please tell me I'm not the only one who heard that." The rest turned towards me and Maya asked, "Do you mean the woman talking in my head." "Yeah, that's what I mean." Axton replied softly, "I don't think this day can get much weirder." We continued following Claptrap after we talked. As we got to the door on the side of an ice mountain Claptrap said, "Well done! Your ability to walk short distances without dying will surely be Handsome Jack's downfall!" The little robot proceeded to open the door and lead us in. As we move down the corridor towards the main room Claptrap tells us, "Sorry about the mess. Everything Jack kills, he dumps here, bandits, Vault Hunters, Claptrap units… If I sound pleased about this, it's only because my programmers made this my default tone of voice! I'm actually quite depressed. Now, the creatures around here are dangerous, none more than this Bullymong named Knuckle Dragger – killed everyone I know. Anywho, I keep a pistol in the cabinet over there for emergencies, but in here, we should be pretty safe!" As we are looking around we hear a loud noise from the roof. Knuckle Dragged breaks in and steals Claptrap's eye right out of his head. The bullymong leaves as soon as he appears. Claptrap tells us in a quiet voice to get the gun from the cabinet. We all walk over to the cabinet and there are half a dozen guns from Dahl.
Now the real story begins.
