ANHS- 2nd Year- With Hirata

Hirata: Ayanokoji have you ever played Football?

Koji: No I haven't.

Hirata: It's strange. Did you not have a normal childhood?

Koji: I just never tried it.

Hirata: Then why don't you try it?

Koji: I don't know.

Hirata: Come on. Just give it a shot.

Koji begrudgingly agrees to it as they make their way to the Football Field. Hirata places the ball down on the grass.

Hirata: Why don't you try to kick it into the goal.

Koji: Alright.

Koji kicks the balls but it goes completely off target. He walked over collecting the ball.

Koji- I see. So if I make some adjustments...

Hirata: Let me show you how to kick it.

Before Hirata can get close Koji kicks the ball as it hits the back of the net.

Hirata: Yeah like that.

Hirata and Koji practice for a while.

Hirata: Woah Ayanokoji. Have you really never played before?

Koji: I haven't. I've just been getting lucky is all.

Hirata: if you say so. But if not for that I might think you're some kind of prodigy. You should join the Football Club.

Koji: I don't know.

Horikita walked over.

Horikita: Are you sure? I remember you once telling me how you've always wanted to try it.

Koji- I have never said that once in my life.

Horikita- only Third Years are allowed to participate in tournaments and winning them can be a path to procuring Class Points. We could potentially earn Class Points from our school team winning tournaments.

Koji: Horikita. I told you that in confidence.

Horikita: You've just been invited yet you're still too nervous to even try out?

Hirata: Nervous? There's no need to feel that way Ayanokoji. Our team is very welcoming.

Koji: Alright. I'll give it a go then.

They arrive as Koji tries his best to look average and not be picked.

Hirata: Welcome Ayanokoji. You're our Midfielder.

Koji: Huh? I got in?

Hirata: Well a teammate of ours is dropping out of the team and you were pretty good so yeah. Welcome.

Koji- How troublesome.

Third Year- Major Tournament

Koji and Hirata were running upfield as Koji would make One Two passes with him until they reached the goal. Hirata was open and if Koji passed to him they would definitely score but Koji shot the ball into the goal anyway.

Announcer: Goal! Ayanokoji Kiyotaka scores the 3rd Goal for Tokyo Advances Nurturing High School!

Hirata: Good Goal Kiyotaka.

Koji: Thanks Yousuke but without the threat of you looming over their shoulders I never have scored.

Hirata: You give me too much credit Kiyotaka.

Koji: Well regardless. We've won another match.

A man was watching from the stands.

???: How interesting. That's the ego I want. He'll be the best in the world.

Horikita approached Koji.

Horikita: That was certainly amazing Ayanokoji.

Koji: I suppose. Thanks for the words of confidence Horikita.

Horikita: Would you like to chat for a while?

Koji: Sure.

The 2 leave as they enter a cafe.

Horikita: Why did you break up with Karuizawa?

Koji: I dated her in an attempt to learn about love. I was hoping to fall in love.

Horikita: So she couldn't make you feel that way?

Koji: There was a moment when we had fought and were about to break up. Even though we reconciled my heart didn't even twitch. At that moment I realised it wasn't possible with her and that dragging her along would be foolish.

Horikita: I see.

Koji: When it came to conversations with her there was always a divide. We were interested in different things so we could never hold a proper conversation unless I was instructing her on what to do. I could never enjoy our conversations.

Horikita: It seems you understand though. What it means to not be in love. Logically speaking it should help you indicate when you are in love.

Koji: I suppose. Suppose that's the case it would be you then. You're someone I don't mind speaking with you no matter the topic.

Horikita: Huh? Don't be ridiculous.

Koji: What about it is ridiculous? Is it so hard to believe?

Horikita blushes.

Koji: I've never been interested in Class A yet I've helped you get this far. Why exactly do you think that is?

Horikita: I...

Koji: It wasn't entirely based on my feeling. I was also invested in your growth.

Horikita: Ayanokoji. If this is a joke I won't forgive you.

Koji: It's not.

Horikita: I see. Ayanokoji. I want to fall in love naturally. Our pursuits clash. I'll consider it. So give me time.

Middle Of Third Year- With Horikita

Horikita: You called me here? But for what reason?

Koji: You've become a splendid leader and have classmates who will support you on your path to Class A. You have many allies but I'm leaving your class and this school.

Horikita: Huh!? Why!?

Koji: I'm going to pursue Football.

Horikita: I see but you could still.

Koji: The Blue Lock Program doesn't accept late submissions. I either leave now or I miss out.

Horikita: What will I do without you? We're so close to Class A. Why leave now!?

Koji: Horikita. I'm not a free person. After graduation, I won't see any of you again. But with Football comes my chance. If I'm known to the world no one will be able to hide me again.

Horiktia: I don't understand.

Koji: I know. But with that place, I can become free.

Horikita: I've made up my mind. I... love you.

Koji shows off a small smile.

Koji: I'm glad. I'll see you once I reach the top.

Horikita: But how will the class do this without you?

Koji: You're more than capable of it now. Reaching Class A that is. Besides aren't you tired of living in my shadow?

Horikita: Alright. I'll do it with my own strength.

The following day Ayankoji dropped out of school to join the Blue Lock Program.

Horikita- He's really not here. I'm nervous.

Sudo: Hey. Where the heck is Ayanokoji?

Chabashira entered the room.

Chabashira: A big thing has happened. Ayanokoji Kiyotaka has dropped out of school.

Hirata: What!?

Kushida- Huh? Wait no... fucking bastard refuses to leave when I want him gone but when I want him to stay he ups and leaves!

Kushida: But why?

Chabashira: He was invited to take part in The Blue Lock Program. A state-of-the-art Football Facility. Its rules are similar to ANHS as you're not allowed to leave.

Sudo: So he chose that place over our class!? Ugh...

Horikita: Calm down Sudo. He made his choice and we should respect it.

Sudo: But he...

Horikita: If you were invited to play in the NBA right now. Can you say you would stay?

Sudo: That's... No, I guess not.

Hirata: We should all just be happy for Ayankoji.

Koji met two boys outside the building. One had white hair and a compassionate face. The other was a bit shorter and had blue hair.

Isagi: Wait that's an ANHS uniform!

Kira: Oh. Woah. You must be pretty talented.

Koji: I wouldn't say so.

Kira: Well. Do you guys know anything about this place?

Koji: I suppose we'll just have to figure it out when we go in.

The group of three walk into the building.
