As egotistical as Alain might be, he was quite shaken by the sudden news.
Jack Matthews had always been as healthy as a stallion. Just a few days ago he was talking about alpine touring in a famous Canadian resort. Cheryl was not as enthusiastic about the idea. She preferred enjoying something warm and delectable near a fireplace.
So how did he end up fainting all of a sudden...?
Shortly afterward, the butler picked Alain up from the university dormitory and delivered him to Vincent-Auguste Hospital. It was one of the best hospitals for human beings. Only rich people could afford the expensive treatment here, let alone the astronomical cost of staying overnight.
Alain had never been so afraid in his life.
Right now, all he wanted was for his father to jump off the bed and show him that he was as robust as always. That he just fainted from drinking too much. Yes, even Alain fainted from too much alcohol at parties. It must be a trivial matter. No need to panic... right?
