Chapter 38: A Look Back, Part 1
Fairfield Elementary, Ten years earlier, School Field trip day
Zaria loved field trips and today her class was visiting the City Zoo. Teachers, their aides, and the parents who had volunteered moved the groups of children through the Zoo's front gate at a steady pace.
The grownups only allowed five to ten minutes at each exhibit so that there would be time to visit as many animals on display as possible. That worried Zaria. She was having a wonderful time seeing all the animals she learned about but the tigers were what she wanted to see most of all.
Particularly, the white tigers named Cotton and Sasha. Zaria was an eight-year-old animal enthusiast who was delighted that a private breeder had loaned his two white tigers to her local zoo.
